Easy to install and use
This rack setup is very easy to use. First time install onto my factory cross rails took about 10 minutes. Easily fits 4 snowboards. Luckily the crossbars on a '12 Traverse are pretty high off the roof, so I didn't have to worry about the bindings, but you may have to get creative if your rails are closer to the car roof. The best thing about this set up is that when we got to the mountain, we just hit the button and popped the arms open to get the boards out. Then, at the end of the day, threw the boards up there and snapped the arms down. Very easy. I take the racks off when I'm not heading to the mountain because they are pretty high profile and other people have commented on the reduction in gas mileage. These cost a bit more than some of the other similar products, but I've been happy and feel they're a good value.

Great rack (get your mind out of the gutter...)!!!
I bought this a couple of months ago and have been very pleased with it. Easy to install, very little wind noise, easy to open and close, easy to lock/unlock, etc. I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews, specifically about how tough it is for shorter people (I clock in at a mighty 5'7") to slide out the rack while standing on the ground. I had no issues sliding it out or back in, with our without skis on the rack (I had on three pairs of skis and one snowboard). I was glad I read a couple of tips from other reviewers: (1) install such that you open on passenger side, so you can load/unload onto walkway/side rather than street and (2) install such that locks are in the same direction (sounds simple, but easy to overlook). Overall, am very comfortable recommending this product.

This has been a great carrier so far
I was sold on the idea that the carrier slides out over the edge of the car. I wasn't disappointed. The only thing you have to be aware of is that if you have any bindings pointing down they may get caught on the side rails of the car rack system. It isn't a huge deal. You either have the bindings all facing up or you just put the skis/boards on the rack inside of the rails and you won't have any problems. We have loaded it up from the start. We have transported 2 snowboards and 3 pairs of skis with no problems. The only downside to having I guess any snowsport carrier is that the wind noise at 75 mph is noticeable. I will be taking it off every spring but it only takes 5 minutes to do it so it really isn't a big deal. I am very happy with this purchase and product! Again, I bought it for the slide out feature and am happy with it for the same reason.

Great Rack
I picked this up a few months back to allow us to throw our skis up top and make room for other items in the Suburban for road trips. We've used it a few times this year and love it. I really like how you can stand at the side of the truck and remove your skis. Can't imagine how it would be with a fixed rack and having to crawl up on top to get everything set. The design makes it very easy to install and remove. Our suburban is our weekend adventure vehicle. With the rack on top I can park it in the garage but its a pretty tight fit. Again the design makes it very easy to remove or install if you don't want to have it on the top of your rig all the time. Definitely recommend

Works like a charm. 2.5 years. But is now broken.
This rack works perfect with the cargo racks on my Audi SQ5. It looks like it was made for my car. Very easy to install and it took all boards and skis for the 4 of us. So I have to update my review. I did buy this rack back in 2016. Probably used 10 -12 times total. This last trip, I was putting the rack on my Audi and one of the four wing nuts that is used to tighten the straps on to my crossbars is now stripped and will no longer tighten. I have filled out the Thule warranty form and spoken to their customer service. It’s been about a week and no one has gotten back to me. I’m not happy with their customer service at the moment. But I want to give them a chance to make it right. I will keep you posted. So Kathy at Thule customer service did a great job making this right. To my understanding, the tacks I had previously are now discontinued and I couldn’t get a simple screw replaced. However, Thule just sent a brand new set of the replacement racks at no cost to me. Thank you Thule!!!

Great ski and board carrier. Plenty of room for the whole family.
So far I've only attached it to take the ski's to the shop to get waxed for the season. They are very easy to put on and take off. It holds our 4 sets of ski's with plenty of room for more. I really think we can get two snowboards on there as well when my family joins us. 3 of the 4 ski's we have are the older skinnier ski's, so I'm sure that is helping to allow all that to fit. I'll update this post if I find any issues during the ski season. We just got our first big snow of the season! Can't wait to hit the slopes. Update (2/24/2014): We have taken this ski carrier up to the slopes several times now this year and it has performed very well. It has held our 4 ski's and 2 snow boards (face to face) without any issues.

Great idea.
We put this on top a TALL SUV and it alows us to easily put our boards on it. We have had 4 snowboards and a pair of skis in it at one time. I highly recommended this if just for the cool factor...you'll get lots of looks at the resort parking lot as your putting your boards in or out. It wasn't supposed to fit the vehicle we put it on but it was a snap even in 20 above weather.

Great Ski Racks
Carry skis for the whole family? These are the ski racks for you. When we used them for the first time, my son said "these are so good Dad!" They were simple to fit to my existing crossbars, they are easily locked and unlocked, easy to unlatch with the big button and best of all, when loading lots of skis, the sliding feature makes securing multiple pairs of skis a breeze. Tip- if you are only carrying one or two pairs, when pushing the racks back in, just make sure you push both racks at the same rate so the skis don't twist slightly. If you have lots of skis on, this won't happen. I have found that if I only have one pair, I just put them on without using the slide feature. Also, when unlocking each rack, you don't have to leave the key in the lock until you re-lock it. This was a very annoying aspect of my old racks and some of the other brands still do this. As you have probably guessed, I am extremely happy with these ski racks!

Easy to install and looks great
We haven't actually put skis in it yet but so far so good. Installation was a breeze and it seems like it will be easy to use. I like the way it pulls out to the side for loading the skis/snowboards. The rubber between the clamp is thick and soft. I'd trust it with my best pair of skis. It's also nice that it locks to the roof rack as well as locks shut so no one can take your skis. One key opens all the locks (comes with a duplicate key.) Can't wait to use it on a weekend ski trip!

Great add-on to my Jeep Grand Cherokee
This is a great product. Only requires a couple of minutes to mount/dismount. Locks tight. Rubber will not scratch your equipment. Slide feature is well worth it. One con others have mentioned is that when you load it up, it does take some effort to push/slide the bars back over the roof. However, it's 100x better than standing on your door sill or rubbing up agaisnt your salt covered paint.
