This makes excellent waffles, essentially identical to those I get from waffle irons in a hotel or motel. The key is the temperature control. I made one test waffle that I threw away, as per instructions, and have made several waffles that I have eaten. What else can I say? As far as I am concerned, this makes waffles that are good enough to eat, Yum!

I absolutely am satisfied with this product! My son loves waffles and the first time he tasted one of these, my wife smiled real big and threw out the frozen ones we buy him all the time. Now we have more room in our freezer! No, really, my son absolutely loves them and so do I. We are never going back to frozen waffles again! When we took our son to a resort for vacation recently he love the waffles at the bar in the morning. I love the fact that you can make other types of waffles other than the traditional breakfast ones.

My mother in law has a fancy one of these that costs almost three times as much. I can't tell the difference in the results between the two. This waffle maker makes nice deep waffles that come out uniformly done just about every time. There are no fancy bells and whistles other than a ready light which if you watch it and follow the directions tells you when to flip and when it is done. I have found the light to be accurate and rarely have I had to cook the waffles a little longer and just as rarely is there any sign of them being overdone. After one test run I was able to determine the correct amount and consistency of batter to add to produce nice waffles. I have used it now at least once a week since Christmas 2014. If your looking for a no frills maker that produces consistent results then based on my experience this is your waffle maker.

When my husband and I went on vacation a few years ago, the hotel had a waffle maker and I was determined to find the same one. If this isn't it then it's pretty dang close! Super easy to use and keep clean! Timer tells you when the waffle is done! Simple.

Some waffle makers don't get hot enough and you wind up with steamed waffles that take forever to cook. This maker heats up fast, cooks fast and makes big crispy waffles. You can completely trust the indicator lights too. When its ready its ready. The non-stick coating is very good as well. You won't need the mess of non-stick sprays. Really love this machine. Pretty easy to clean too with wet or dried batter wiping right off the surfaces. The overflow tray at the bottom could probably be a little bigger since batter can still drool onto the counter top. I put paper towels underneath for each cleanup.

I love this! I had been eying this for a while and finally got it -and I'm not sorry! The waffles come out great! a little crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Each waffle takes about 4 minutes (in the meantime i put the other ones in the oven in low heat so they don't get cold) And as a plus I learned that you can freeze them and just pop them in the toaster later! this is the recipe i use: (makes 3 waffles) 1 cup all purpose flour 1/4 cup sugar 1 tbsp baking powder 1 cup of milk 1 egg 1 tbsp melted butter

What can I say? I have been craving waffles, and I kept eyeballing the various waffle makers in our local stores for a while. I bought this one based on all the positive reviews and the price. In my haste, I selected this one thinking that it was a Belgian waffle maker. It's not. My mistake. But oh my goodness... these waffles are a perfect size. Belgian waffles have a tenancy to be obnoxiously large. These however strike a lovely balance. Following the instructions of the Waffle Maker, and a simple Aunt Jemima waffle box recipe, my first batch was ridiculously good. Each waffle should be made with about 3/4 cup of waffle batter, to just shy of 1 cup. The light indicators can be trusted in my experience so far. I've been using canola oil, applied directly to the waffle maker with a brush, and they cook perfectly consistent, with no sticking or burning. I don't see any technical flaws with the handle as some others have suggested. It's seriously not a complicated device. Buy this waffle maker! You'll love it. Just follow the instructions. 1. No sprays, use oil and a brush. Trust me. 2. Play with the batter proportions to get a perfectly complete waffle with no rough edges. It's about 3/4 to 7/8 cup of batter. 3. The indicator light appears to be really spot on in terms of waffle completeness. I give it an extra 15 seconds or so for a slightly more well done texture. Enjoy!

I had some difficulty turning it on the first waffle. It says to not force the lid closed but it has to be completely closed in order to flip it. After you let it set for a few seconds the batter expands and opens it up a little bit so you can't flip it. You have to push the lid down and then flip it... or don't wait to flip it after pouring- just pour, close and flip it right away. It cooks on both sides equally anyway. It takes a long time for it to burn too, if you happen to walk out of the kitchen and forget about it!! Oops... Don't get me wrong, it takes less than 5 minutes to cook one of these babies, but if you happen to leave it in there for let's say more than 10 minutes, it might be a little crunchy but still edible!! Also, I had no issues cooking them one right after the other. I would recommend not using a full 3/4 cup of batter for it will spill out the sides a little. They are 6 1/2 inches in diameter and possibly an inch thick, so you are still getting a good amount of waffle!

Great waffle maker. stores just as I want it too, as pictured but I turn the handle in. THIS is the secret to all waffle makers, DO NOT USE SPRAY OIL ON THEM!!!! Brush the oil on (I use a BBQ sauce type rubbery one) and it works fine. I "oil" it after every waffle, and they come out great. I use "Box" mix and I whip the waffles up fast. It warms up quickly, put the mix in, then close it and flip it over then I time it 2-3 minutes (depending on the crispness desired) Some waffle makers have a timer built in. As my waffle maker is used near my stove, I use the stove timer...but I have no problem with it. cleans well, just wipe it around and the spill plate under it rinses clean....

I've had this waffle iron for a little over a year now. For the price it was well worth the investment! This makes the best waffles! They have a nice, slightly crispy outside and a delicious fluffy inside. As with any new waffle iron there was a bit of a learning curve to get just the right amount of batter and figuring out just how the batter should go in. After a lot of trial and error I've discovered that just barely less than a cup of batter is perfect and after pouring it in its best to spread it around so it reaches the edges evenly. We use this to make waffles 3 batches at a time so we can freeze the leftovers. There's no tone to indicate doneness, but I've found that the light turning on makes just enough of an audible click that you can easily go about your other kitchen business while waiting for them to cook. Even if I miss the light turning on I've amazingly never over cooked a waffle! I'm actually contemplating a 2nd one just to speed up our cooking process. It's definitely worth the money considering how inexpensive it is! My only complaint with my specific machine is that the green light on top doesn't work and never has. I understand that manufacturer in errors will always occur though and since the bottom light still works I never found it annoying enough to send it back for a replacement.
