Amazing product. Very happy
We purchased this filter to replace the one inside our 2013 sandpiper camper. The one they had was expensive to replace the filters. So I was looking for other options. It took a run to the hardware store to find the right fitting to connect to our already existing plumbing. But after installing we have had no issues. We installed last night (11-27-17) and I am very happy with it. Real enemy filters are so affordable do this one and easy to find! Highly recommend if you are wanting to save money. Came with everything you need if you are just putting it in for camp site hook ups. But we wanted it more permanent inside. Would buy again. And will update if we have any issues !!

... water filter after a visit to a campground with bad water. This filters down to 5 microns
Purchased the Camco Premium water filter after a visit to a campground with bad water. This filters down to 5 microns. Best you can get. Be careful tightening the fittings as they are metal fittings into a plastic housing. I started hand tight and then wrench tightened enough to stop leaking. Amazon ill-pairs this filter with filter holder Camco 40772. The holder is to big for the filter. the filter rest on the fittings/hoses instead of the filter body. Fortunately the filter comes with a wrench to remove the body from the head. Just put the wrench on the filter body and set it in the stand Works well if the ground is not to rocky. After a couple of uses I tried to get the head off to drain the water out but it is super tight. Even pushing the pressure relief button does not help. I will try a vice at the end of the season, don't want to break it now.

A quality product at a competitive price
I bought this for a slightly unusual application -- for which it works brilliantly. Like many households, I have a multi-stage reverse osmosis water filter system under the kitchen sink. Every six months or so I'm supposed to change the filters, and for each of the charcoal filter cartridges I'm supposed to flush them for a few minutes before installing them. But how do you do that? It occurred to me that I could buy a single-cartridge housing and a few fittings, and run a garden hose through each filter to flush it for a few minutes. It's easy to buy the housings, and a little harder to find the right fittings, but when you add up the cost of the cheapest parts available it totals about the same cost as buying this kit. So I bought this kit. I was pleased to find that all the fittings are of high quality. For example, the core parts of the hose adapters are solid metal, rather than plastic. As you can see from the attached photo, pre-installation filter-flushing is now easy.

Works as Advertised. Love our good tasting water
I have used this water filter for 4 months at our marina. I attach it to our slip's water tap and then slide one end of the hose into our boat's water tank fill pipe and turn the dock water tap on about a 1/3. Works like a charm. We enjoyed good water all summer long even when our dock neighbors were complaining about how bad their water tasted and smelled. I think most of my dock neighbors will be buying this filter for next season

Bought this filter/cartridge to replace expensive 30-40 dollar filter
This filtering system works better than 35 dollar per filter Water Pur unit installed on my trailer. It filters smaller particles and improves flow. I had ordered a standard Camco filter and realized that it would not install in my Water Pur canister. Only the 35 dollar Water Pur filter- which is made slightly different- would fit. I bought this system for half that price and I highly recommend buying the 14 dollar stand otherwise you will have the canister dangling and pulling on the hose and inlet. It stabilizes the unit. Very happy with this purchase and no longer hostage to Water Pur's predatory pricing.

Does The Job
I had an older Camco Water Filter but couldn't find any replacement filters anymore so I bought this one. I'm not disappointed. It's definitely heavier than my older one. I'm able to put in on the rear bumper of my 5th Wheel while in use otherwise I would purchase a stand for it. A couple of reviews mentioned leaks at the connections. If you use the teflon tape that comes with the unit and tighten the conections properly (don't over-torque), you'll be fine. I've camped now at a place where the water has usually tasted "not so good" and another place where you sometimes get sand in the water. In both cases, the filter did a great job. Even my gal pal said the water tasted good! As another reviewer noted, make sure you flush the a new filter prior to use, to get rid of excess carbon.

Were people getting fakes?
I was a little hesitant due to some reviews that seemed to indicate that these filters were junky, or weak, but so far I'm very impressed. Everything about this thing is built like a tank. Very sturdy housing, threads, cap.. and very good water flow. I can't imagine the quality getting much better. I haven't had to open it up yet, but it's definitely surpassed my expectations so far. It really seems to help my dirty well water too. It sounds like the people who had issues were extreme cases. Water, plus dirt or erratic pressure.. all kinds of crazy things can happen that would ruin just about anything, but under average circumstances, i don't think there is much to worry about. I'll be using mine through a gas powered pressure washer, so that should be interesting.

Works amazing. I bought the stand to go with it ...
If you have a travel trailer buy this one. Works amazing. I bought the stand to go with it as well. The only thing is make sure you open t up and dump out the water prior to putting away so it doesn't leak out in you trailer

I upgraded the filter to the better gac. No chlorinated taste water is clear after ...
Follow directions, use a pressure regulator infact should come with one. Some say it leaks, let me say i use this to filter my city water for my aquarium, so it is on and off the hose every couple weeks, with pressure regulator installed doesn't leak, my water pressure is 70 at spicked i had to reduce it to 30. Go to your hardware store or get the pressure reducer/regulator or order on Amazon 10$ will protect your investment. I upgraded the filter to the better gac. No chlorinated taste water is clear after letting bubbles settle.

Quality and re-usable
The quality, performance and design is perfect for our Winnebago Rialta RV trips around Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Like that I can replace with new filter element each year instead of the disposable type filters we have used before. Be careful threading the hose fittings so you don't cross thread them...I found that 2 or 3 wraps with the provided tape was enough and made it easier to tighten properly.
