This was my "secret" power when re-taking the Bar Exam; I was terrible at the MBE and confused because I got high scores on my essays. I ended up passing because these flashcards teach you more than you need to know!

I haven't received my own order of these cards yet, but my friends who made the right decision to google and see if there was a discount, have received theirs. If you "like" critical pass on facebook, they give you a discount code that will give you free shipping. Plus the cost for the actual cards is $10 less than here on amazon. I foolishly used amazon believing that it would arrive sooner via fedex and though this reputable website than direct through the company. Nope. Mine are not scheduled to arrive for a few more days. Go direct through critical pass. Having used the cards, they are very helpful. The reality of bar prep is that there just isn't enough time to write flash cards for every single rule and black letter law. That time is best served practicing MBEs, or essays, or something else. I personally learn very well from writing out my flashcards, but these cards let me fill in info that will help me remember the elements. For example, I'll give myself a reminder from an MBE I got wrong. Get these cards.

They are a must-have for the MBE. Advice - retype them onto your own flashcards so they go through your head and into your words. Leave space on the left for your state distinctions on the topic. I printed them onto 5 x 8 flashcards that I had custom cut at Staples. I took an inch or so with me every day on walks and memorized / made up scenarios… I made similar cards for all the state topics (non-MBE) here in Michigan using the same format. Passed first time with room so spare.

Plan and simple I passed the first time taking the bar, and these little gizmos played no small role. My handwriting is indecipherable (No seriously, it may as well be sanskrit), so spending the time writing out flash cards that I wouldn't even be able to read by the end made zero sense what so ever. Everything was organized well, and the coloration and numbering with an index made it great to reorganize by topic. I took the UBE so I didn't have to worry about state distinctions, but there was room on each card for you to scribble those in, and each topic came with a few blanks in case you needed more. I may have been able to pass without these, but I will say it saved me a lot of time (... and saved my poor defenseless writing hand) allowing me to focus on review and memorization. Just stop dithering and buy them.

These are really helpful. I used these to help me pass the Virginia bar. Virginia doesn't tell you your exact MBE score, but with a score advisory from the VSBE I know my score was over 150. I used these as a supplement to Barbri. Yeah, it's possible to pass without taking a bar course, but why take the chance? I used these to help give me another way of quickly reviewing material. They match pretty well with the Barbri outlines in a lot of ways, but sometimes just one little rewording makes something make much more sense. I particularly liked how half of each card is blank so you can add your own notes. In that space, I wrote state distinctions (except for Civ Pro..I made my own cards for that subject because there are too many distinctions for my state) or if there was some more detailed/nuanced rule, I wrote that in as well.

These cards are awesome. They are in Outline Format, so study them in order because each topic is presented in a very well-organized fashion. I love them because they cover so much of what's tested on the MBE portion. For things I encounter in my Multiple Choice Practice Question Explanations, I'm taking additional notes. These cards are the backbone, though, so they are saving me a lot of time. I am also supplementing them with my homemade, state-specific Rules of Law, but my supplemental stuff is organized around these very succinct and clear flashcards. Best of all, the rules in the state's model answers are stated in a fashion very similar to the rules listed on these cards, so if you learn these cards you're halfway home to memorizing what you'll have to write in the essay portion. These cards are a must-have. You will still have to do a lot of work, but it's going to be a lot more logical and do-able because you'll already have the Critical Pass Flashcards foundation embedded in your study materials and, eventually, your brain.

Uh these are freaking amazing. The only reason why I memorized anything for the MBE were through these cards. I REALLY WISH CRITICAL PASS WOULD MAKE NY SPECIFIC FLASHCARDS! If you are studying for the BAR, forget barbri or kaplan for the MBE. Get these flashcards and you are golden. FYI, it's cheaper on their site. Another FYI, their shipping is incredibly crappy. I sprung for the 2 day shipping, still came nearly a week later. Just go to their site, it's cheaper and the shipping is free. I wouldn't even bother with expedited shipping, because they aren't going to expedite it anyway. lol

I've got the bar exam in 3 weeks, but I scored a 172/200 on my first mock MBE. These cards are gold! Bite the bullet, spend the money, and reap the rewards!

These flashcards were my secret weapon for the bar exam. While I do not recommend focusing more on one subject over another, these flashcards helped immensely with the MBE, but also with the essay portion. These cards work as both an outline and flashcards because they are pretty dense in terms of material. You could literally not watch the BarBri or Themis videos on these subjects and know what you need to know for the bar with just these. I would also buy real MBE questions and not rely solely on BarBri questions. You can write tips from these actual MBEs into the margins of the cards for the small areas that are not covered on the flashcards. I bought mine used and they did not come with the new CivPro questions. These CivPro cards are worth not buying them used if they are not included. Critical Pass no longer sells just the CivPro cards to make you buy the new ones.

Write some of your state distinctions on the right hand side of the cards. Study the cards some throughout the study period. Then, the week before the exam, pull out about 10 cards from each subject (that cover the subtopics you are weakest on) and go through them continuously. Very helpful for fed M.C. and state essays. Sometimes during bar review, you might have the tendency to get bogged down in detail. These cards help you organize and simplify these subjects (while still providing a surprising amount of detail). By the way, a good tip for your bar review courses: one of the instructors recommended watching every video 3x if possible. I would add to this, listen to the most helpful lectures (Contracts, Property, etc.) every night as you go to sleep. Literally, every night (and while you drive). Good luck.
