Outstanding unit, but you need other accessories in order to overlay your chart plotter charts with the radar information. Well, now it's early November, everything has been working perfectly until two days ago, Friday November 6, when I was sailing back to the marina just as the sun went down. I switched on the 3G Lowrance, saw a couple small boats off in the distance that were barely visible to the naked eye, and suddenly, I lost all targets on the screen. The only thing visible from the radar system was a band of clutter surrounding the outer ring of the display. All those mooring buoys, unlit buoys and day markers disappeared. Fortunately, I knew the area well enough to safely make it back to the marina without incident. I will be contact Lowrance Customer Service first thing Monday morning. I'm amazed that the system only survived 4 months aboard a large, very smooth riding sailboat. Hopefully, they will provide me with a replacement. Good luck, Gary

Lowrance Broadband Radar

I did not buy from Amazon, but I have had this radar mounted on my boat and connected to an HDS 7 for three years. It has performed flawlessly. I often run this radar in daylight hours just to keep an eye in all directions for upcoming vessels. Close-in accuracy with this unit is amazing. Gulls on the water, so close you could almost throw food, can be seen taking off in this radar. Shoreline features and even kayakers are readily discerned. I had an X-band Furuno for years that did not show targets as close and clearly as this unit. The value of close-in readings on radar becomes clear only when you use this radar. The instant-on capability of this solid-state radar is also terrific.

I have always had great success with Lowrance gear and this was no exception

I purchased this unit from Amazon 3 years ago. I have it attached through the Lowrance network switch to 2 HDS 5, Gen 1 and GEN 2's. I was really impressed with the function for the cost. I have always had great success with Lowrance gear and this was no exception. It is really handy to find the charter captains on slow fishing days;). Seriously, at night, in the channels and around the islands, it is really a life saver. I highly recommend it.

Excellent radar.

Excellent radar. low draw on power. Didnt break the bank. Good support from Lowrance. I use it on my 21 ft aluminum fishing boat. Really usefull when the fog is in or dark outside.
