Never thought I'd make a hobby of watching rice cook until...

Incredibly simple to use, but word of caution: If you don't rinse your rice before you cook it the excess starch will form crazy bubbles in the pot, preventing optimal heat transfer, thus causing the temperature of the water to rise and eventually resulting in a catastrophic eruption of molten starch which is not fun to clean up. If it becomes a consistent problem, add a tablespoon of vegetable oil to the water before you turn the heat on in order to break up the surface tension and prevent the formation of bubbles. All in all, it's a damn good rice cooker for the price. Last time I bought a rice cooker this cheap the circuit burned out and just about caused a fire in my dorm room.

More that a rice maker

I've had this for a few months now, use it almost every day, and it's working like a charm. It's great for rice, but works well to cook eggs, salmon, bean soups and more. It cleans up easy too. Definately a keeper.

I really like this product, I am writing this review after using this product for more than a year, this works amazing, easy to clean , easy to use , Cooks rice very fast and the most important feature is you don't need to turn it off every time, even if you forget to do turn it off sometimes , you will not end up burning your rice , rather it will get auto turn off to warm mode 😀

My new favorite appliance.

This works perfectly as long as I follow directions correctly. I had one bad batch of rice but it was my own fault. I also use it to steam vegetables constantly. They can be steamed while the rice is cooking, or I just add water and steam them alone. I loved this so much that I bought a second one for at work. **Update 7/2/2018 I just realized that I've had this for 4 years and it is still just as amazing as when I got it! It's held up great and still works like new.

I absolutely love this thing. I haven’t had any issues with it at all so far. It steams. Cooks rice. Even cooks soup and stuff. Re-Heats food. Honestly makes some cooking much easier.

Simply the Best

I have been cooking rice on a daily basis for over 35 years. My first year i used a japanese brand pot similar to the aroma pot. I've also used different methods for cooking rice, too. By far the aroma pot is the best. I bought a digital rice cooker one year and after 2 uses i gave it away- it was awful. Trust Aroma- it's a very good pot!

Works great, love the fact that its dishwasher safe. I noticed that you don't have a spot to hold the rice spoon, is that even the right term? but it fits well if you stick it in the handles or on the glass lid when you are letting it cool. 1 year update: My rice cooker still works like new. My Mom loved it so much we ordered one for my brother & sister and law as well as one for Mom & Dad.

Classic, simple design is best

This simple design is the best for a rice cooker. You'll see that the lid is not attached to the appliance itself and the rice cooking insert and steamer aren't, either. This is what you want. Everything that comes in contact with food can take a dunk in soapy water or sit in the dishwasher. Other models, fancier models, have the lid on a hinge and attach to the appliance itself. That's a terrible design because you have to clean the lid by hand, especially the plastic gasket that goes around the lid. I had one for a year and threw it out in frustration one night. I'm much happier with this model and haven't thrown it once. It makes great brown rice, too.

Only does 12 cups of cooked rice.

I love this rice cooker! However it will not fit 7 cups of uncooked rice! I only did 6 cups of uncooked rice & it was full when the rice was Cooked! There is no way 7 cups of uncooked rice would fit cooked! I did use the measuring cup that came with it. So I really got 12 cups of cooked rice which was still plenty to feed my large family. Besides this I am completely satisfied. I steamed vegi's & meats in it & it turned out perfect!

Love it

I've been needing a good rice cooker for 2 years since my last one died. This was worth waiting for. It's big enough to steam dinner got a family of 4. I love that you can steam meat and veggies while cooking your rice. It's perfect. I couldn't ask for a better rice cooker.
