Kohler Flush valve
Kohler toilet stated leaking between the top tank and the bowl. The flush valve has 3 seals. One seal (mine was yellow in color) is used within the flush valve and prevents water in the tank from leaking into the bowl (replace this seal if the toilet runs constantly), second seal is under the flush valve (mine is red in color) and seals the inside of the tank to the flush valve. If this seal fails, water would leak between the top tank and bowl. The third seal (mine is gray) fits under tank and sits on top of the bowl opening. On mine, this was the actual seal that failed. I ended up removing the entire flush valve - way more work and costs than just replacing the gray seal. the gray seal is really easy to replace - and is available without the flush valve.

Worked flawlessly
I will start by saying that these things are not the norm. If you need one, you may have pulled enough hairs out by now out of frustration. I did. They are no where to be found when you really need one. The days of going to ACE or HD and just getting any brand off the shelf ate gone with this brand. But, if you need one, Amazon has them. Works like it should. Perfect fit.

If you have a Kohler 1.6 gal per flush toilet, READ HERE...
Even though the product diagram for this listing shows the parts as all separated from each other, the flush valve unit arrives fully assembled. I was concerned I'd receive a box of unattached parts, but it was fully assembled. If you have the Kohler Cimarron 1.6 gal per flush toilet, this is NOT the correct replacement canister valve. This one only provides a 1.28 gal per flush maximum. I made the mistake of looking for the part number for the canister valve by using the diagram and part numbers listed on the underneath of the toilet lid. Big mistake! They print a standard part number there. Although it fit, it only provided me with a 1.28 gal per flush instead of the 1.6 gal per flush we were used to. A big difference in flushing power! I called Kohler to get the correct part number which for me was #1189001. That replacement worked perfectly and we have our more powerful flushing power back again. I purchased this one in error and am now out the cost of it. I would advise calling Kohler before ordering your part (and make sure they know how much your flush volume should be) to get the right part. It only takes 5 minutes to call them and it will save you any hassle later on. Very easy to replace - no need to hire a plumber! Lots of how-to-replace videos on YouTube if you're not sure how to do it. Only takes about 10 minutes. Best of luck!

Perfect for the price! Can’t go wrong with Amazon!
Even though I knew the items were sent out without original packaging and was told there would be slight imperfections. They exceeded my expectations of what I expected to receive. I am a satisfied Amazon Prime member just for products like this! I saved $$ buying the items this way. The items came in a amazon prime box. Inside the items were individually wrapped within air cushioned plastic bags. The items came with all the necessary parts and attachments to make the toilet insides brand spanking new! I replaced all the internal parts and they fit and worked awesomely! I still can’t get over how Amazon take such pride and care with their products they send out that aren’t in the original packaging, the instructions were also included which I didn’t expect. Nice surprise! I have to say, I was more impressed with it not being in its original packaging. Amazon also has each item inspected and labeled. I was a little hesitant to buy an opened package product, but now I’m sold on buying them moving forward. Thanks Amazon for taking pride in the products you send!!! AAA++++

Kohler 1083980 Works for 1.28 & 1.6 GPF on Kohler Cimarron K-4634 Toilets
The K-4634 Kohler Cimarron is widely sold at Lowes and Home Depot, so misinformation like what is in the lead review is unfortunate. So ...., a picture says a 1000 words. The 1083980 works for both the 1.28 and 1.6 GPF versions of the K-4634, you just simply have to adjust the fill level in the tank (on the float valve - different part) to the amount of water you want to flush!

You know you're getting old when you're reviewing toilet parts!!
Reviewing toilet parts...never saw this coming! I am taking the time to do this because the product arrived timely and because it was an OEM part it worked perfectly. The instructions were actually in English not just pictograms. I ordered other items instead of this that are listed as working for the type of toilet, but they failed miserably. Tech tip.. do not do a real world test until you sure it's going to work, the "knockoff" part didn't...ugh.. I'm now a firm believer in buying the exact part from the manufacturer whenever possible.

So Easy To Use!
It was so easy for me to fix my Kohler toilet with this kit. I am not the least bit mechanically inclined, so when I began to notice signs that my toilet was not sounding right, I did nothing but hope that it would somehow self correct. Yes, I was in serious denial. Finally, it just stopped functioning. I went online and typed in the dysfunctional signs. Voila! All kinds of self-help advice and demonstrations were available. As a result, I ordered the canister valve assembly kit. Removing and replacing the old canister was a cinch. It took me seven minutes. I'm a widow and in my seventh decade. Hiring a plumber was out of the question. I had checked with two handymen before deciding to tackle the problem myself. One said I needed a new toilet (and he just happened to have one for sale). The other said he could fix the problem but it would require several hours to do so, and he would have to be paid accordingly. Thus, my online self-help decision. I ordered the Kohler parts, followed the directions, patted myself on the back, did a little happy dance and gave my now functioning toilet an extra flush just because I could. I give 5 stars to the Kohler canister valve assembly kit.

Perfect Replacement Part
Perfect replacement part. Installation is straightforward but, as others have pointed out, you need a wrench with a 4" span or other method to remove the old valve and tighten the new one. You also need something on the inside of the tank to keep the assembly from turning while you are loosening or tightening it (I used some wood shims). Note that depending on the reason you are replacing this part, you may not have to remove the tank and replace the whole valve. In my situation, the part of the valve assembly that broke was a plastic flange/stopper on the top of the long stem shown in the diagram. The canister slams against this every time the toilet is flushed and eventually breaks. I couldn't find just that part and had to buy the whole valve assembly. But the stem can easily be removed from the valve assembly. Had I known this before I started I wouldn't have had to remove the tank and the whole valve assembly. I would have taken the stem from the new valve and simply replaced the old one. It would have been a five minute job instead of an hour.

Replacement part for Kohler Toilet Model K-4469-AA 1.28 gpf
Very easy fix for our slow toilet tank leak. Could have just replaced the seal....but after trying to GLUE the old one in place....we had to replace the whole Canister! LOL! -Easily replaced by removing chain, lifting up on the canister, (reach underneath) and turning whole unit a bit counterclockwise, pull up. -Replace the opposite way. -Took less than 5 minutes. Needed a plumber to install, but works perfect
I am a middle aged woman and decided to call a plumber to finish installing this. You have to drain and remove the entire toilet tank and you need a 4 inch wrench to remove the old part, which I did not know when starting this repair.. Replacing this whole deal is like getting a new toilet though and even though I had to pay my plumber 100.00, it was worth it. Works very well.
