Let Us Now Praise Kershaw
I'm writing not only to praise this knife, but also the company that makes it - and the several other Kershaw folding knives I own and have given as gifts. The knife speaks for itself. It's light, but substantially built. The Speed Safe mechanism steals the show as an opening system - it's simply the best one-handed opening of any folding knife out there that's legal. The edge - as nearly every reviewer will tell you - comes sharp as you'd ever want it to be. Anything sharper would be a wire-edge and too fragile to live. It's one hell of a lot of tool for the money. Here's what slays me: their customer service. As is well known, Kershaw backs their knives against failures of workmanship and materials. It's also known that they will sharpen your knife whenever you send it to them, whether or not it's for warranty service. But here's an example of a customer service attitude that rocks. I've recently changed my pattern of EDC, and wanted to put the pocket clip back on this knife. When I went to get it, I couldn't find it. I still had the screws - they're still in the knife. But the clip itself was gone. I emailed KAI to order the part, explaining that it wasn't broken or damaged or defective - I just misplaced it. I expected to pay for the clip and for shipping - no problem. Kershaw wasn't having it. I got a FAST response by email, telling me they were glad to send me a replacement clip free of charge. Less than a week later, I have the clip - AND an additional set of screws. It's not a big deal - just small piece of hardware. But the attitude is enormous. They are determined to make owning a Kershaw product a pleasure. It is.

Try it, you will Love this knife!
Best knife for the money you can buy. I wanted a good knife but didn't want to spend a lot of money. This knife is as good and in a LOT of cases better than knives costing 4 or 5 times as much. But, if you loose this knife, you're not crying about it, you just jump on Amazon and order another one! I seriously had a friend try to buy it from me, I told him NO, go order your own! I own 2 of these knives and carry 1 with me everyday, everywhere!

Iineman here, best knife I’ve ever owned
I don’t usualy write reviews but I rely heavily on them. This knife was worth writing about. I work as a power lineman and in that trade you almost always need a sharp knife on you. After trying many brands and styles I’ve been using this knife for the last 3 years. The best feature imo is the knife is easily opened and closed with gloves on. I work outside and with high voltage so there’s times I need to access the knife quickly with large bulky rubber gloves on. The grips, assisted open and closing mechanism make this knife easy to use one handed with gloves on. That alone is a huge positive. Also the blade lasts. It stays sharp long and is easily sharpened or you can send it back and they will sharpen it. Personally I’ve never needed there customer service but my coworker had to send the knife back and he said the interaction was top notch. I actually life this knife better than the more expensive models I’ve owned because they have thinner metallic grips whereas this has the composite grips that are larger and fit better in your hand/work well with gloves on. All around excellent knife and excellent company. Must buy totally worth the price in fact it’s a steal.

Superb quality as expected
Awesome knife. Kershaw has yet to disappoint (I doubt they ever will) and this knife is no exception. Blade needed sharpened out of the box but the point was razor. Serration was sharp too. A quick pass with a stone and this knife cuts everything I throw at it. It's sturdy, obviously well-made, and for the price point I can't find anything to complain about. Definitely a great buy.

great knife....Highly Recommend.
I had a Kershaw "needs work" knife that i bought a while ago. It was a favorite!!! had it for 4 years. I recently lost it (well thought i did for a few weeks) and when i went to look to get another one, turns out that particular model wasn't made by Kershaw anymore and was now on a search to find one that was just like the one I had....I did a lot of searching and came upon this one...after reading the description and reviews, i was convinced it was the right one. It arrived and thank god, to my delight, its a great knife....good weight to it, its not light and flimsy...i love the speedsafe opening , which my old one had. and this one has the ability to move the clip from one end to the other to put it on the left or right pocket. Great knife....highly recommend

Good Knife with a few flaws
Pros: I have really gotten into flipper mechanics lately, it seems that even though this is the only one with an assisted opening, all of the knives I have been testing out have had a flipper mechanic. I really appreciate the fact that this knife features a reversible pocket clip, I prefer to carry my knives tip up in my right pocket so I am perfectly fine as long as a knife accommodates that style. The handle on the Clash is very comfortable, in my opinion the texture does not add very much, but the overall ergonomics feel great. I also have not had any play with the blade and the lock has held up well. I never seem to have problems with liner locks, I know some people prefer a different design, but I actually like liner locks and have never had one fail on me. Cons: I do have a few small gripes with this blade. First is that I am not as big a fan of partially serrated knives like I have mentioned but they do offer a version of this knife that is solid, this is just the version I picked up on Black Friday. I also wish that the handle was a little bit more narrow. Like I said this knife is very comfortable, but it feels a little bit clunky in my pocket. in addition to this the spine of the handle is almost completely solid whereas I prefer for an opening. The last complaint I have is that if you carry this knife tip up in your pocket it has a rather large point that sticks out of your pocket. These are not huge problems but just small design choices I wish were different. General Thoughts: First and foremost, like I said I picked this knife up on Black Friday for $17 on Amazon. Now that the sale is over it has gone back up to around $25. However, on the Kershaw website it is listed as around $53. I personally think that the Amazon price point is a more accurate representation. That being said, even with the issues I pointed out this has quickly become one of my favorite knives and I find my self reaching for it nearly every day, even when I need to test out other products.

buy this Kershaw- you will love the rapid open and the serrations are very effective
I've been carrying this Kershaw for over a year- its a great knife I've taken down small trees, good for self defense if needed: quick opening is the best function of this knife- feels like its a switch blade it opens so quick: feels great in the hand-- sharpens great: out of the box its wicked sharp I've already purchased two more: one for my car and another that I will keep new in the box so that I have an extra one in case I ever loose my primary one: I've also bought several for family members- all love them I love the serrated edges- especailly for self defense I feel that this knife would be a good weapon if needed to protect yourself as the serrations will rip someones nose and lips clear off also good for opening boxes and trimming trees- no joke. buy it-- only con; made in china

Very please with the quality of this knife.
I bought this knife because my old trusty Gerber's belt clip broke off. I was immediately surprised with this thing out of the box and I am very picky about my knives being sharp as possible. It was razor sharp out of the box and the build quality feel much better than I was expecting. The hilt has nice groove for grip and solid finish. The linear lock is nice and spring are tight and they both seem like they will hold up to the test of time. I did not think it was a spring assisted speed open but oh well, its pretty cool. The belt clip is short fat and stiff as heck, which I like. The only thing I wish it had was a thumb knob for closing...but I suppose they delete those on the speed safe models. Awesome build quality. Lets see how she holds up to some abuse.

Overall Good Blade
Great knife! the sharp tip fits snug into the handle will not snag pockets the larger clothing clip keeps knife in my shorts pocket no flip aid circle thing. only easy way to get knife out is the press the lever handle has the right grooves in the right places for thumb and forefinger all black makes it just look like a good knife...nothing showy everything practical safety keeps blade open till you want it closed. more pressure then I am used to but just enough to make it feel loads more safe then other knifes I have handled knife is just about right size in length and width and weight. I have had some that weight like a brick or are way to long for practical carry. This one also seems to not be so wide I feel like I am compensating for something. when retracts it feels smooth and gets into place very well. overall good bade.
