Raw vegetables need to be tender without loosing flavor and pressure cooking is the best way I've found
This is a well made product that is TOP NOTCH in every way. Presto makes such quality products I cannot find a CON of owning this We use this pot for cooking our gumbo in minutes vs hours. Raw vegetables need to be tender without loosing flavor and pressure cooking is the best way I've found. We had an old presto PC for decades and now my daughter has it.

Easy to use, nice capacity, works well
I bought this as a replacement for my old pressure cooker. I mostly use it for cooking corn on the cob and chicken for stock. I was afraid it would be too small, since my old one was larger. But average sized ears of corn fit well. Haven't tried a chicken yet, but since I use pieces for stock it should be fine. The included time guide booklet is a great addition. I followed it and my corn turned out perfectly.

There is not a lot of ways to get time back into your life: this excellent pressure cooker is one!
I grew up hearing the whistle of the steam escaping my Mom's old 12 quart pressure cooker: fresh veggies and fall-off-the-bone-tender braised meats always on time for lunch, delicious soups for dinner! Since I adore cooking, I rarely look for short-cuts and I had forgotten all about pressure cooked foods until having a family myself. Serving a healthy cooked-from-scratch meal every night after work while caring for a little one? Not easy with only 30 to 60 minutes available... This pressure cooker solves a lot of that timing issue and leaves me plenty of time to focus on other tasks. During week nights, I use it mostly for vegetables: you simply put the veggies on the stainless rack (provided with the cooker) or your own steam basket, add about a cup of water, lock the lid in place and start the cooking. The start of the whistle is when you start counting down your time. The booklet accompanying this cooker is far from accurate and you will end up with overcooked veggies if you follow it (soup anyone?) so it may take you a few tries to figure the perfect cooking time. As examples, whole big potatoes are ready within 15 minutes, large broccoli florets in 1 min, trimmed green beans in about 2 min... As soon as you reach your desired cooking time, place the cooker under running cool water to stop the cooking immediately and bring the pressure down. The material of this Presto cooker is thick stainless and I feel comfortable doing that without risking to damage or crack a piece. There is usually little water left at the bottom: my Mom used to drink it once cold saying a lot of minerals were in there (?) but I prefer to reserve it for soups or broth. Clean-up of this cooker is a breeze. My husband does it by hand as a habit but I feel very comfortable putting the various pieces into the dishwasher. There are 4 pieces. The heavy bottom stainless pan does not tend to attach food, even braised meats. The lid receives only steam so is very easy to get clean. I run a scrubby along the black gasket and the steam weight only needs to be wiped. The size is enough for a whole meal for a family of four to six but can also cook small portions (adjusting the time down even more). You can easily cook several pounds of vegetables at once too. Overall, a great buy to get a few minutes of my time back and a very good quality cooker. Highly recommended for your busy kitchen. Hearing my 2 yr-old say "bro'lli, cau'fower!" at the sound of the whistle is great too!

I am so glad I got it
I ordered this pressure cooker because I got a Tibetan Spaniel puppy. His breeder cooked for him and I wanted to make the same recipes for him. I am so glad I got it. Not only am I cooking for him, but for myself too. I made a corned beef the other day, something I would never attempt because I could never seem to get one tender. It saves me $$ on propane and also saves me a lot of time, cooking things I love but never had time to cook. best investment I've made in a long time.

Forgot to get the meat out of the freezer...No problem with this!
IF you have never used a pressure cooker you are in for a real treat with this. This is my 3rd one, I have been married for 56 years and have been using one for that long. I love how I can get a pork roast out of the freezer and have a Mexican dinner on the table with pulled pork within an hour and a half. It makes the best beef and chicken too!

Perfect Pressure Cooker
This is my third one of this same model. The other two are working just fine but I use them so often that I decided to treat myself to a third. I try to cook everything I eat from scratch. Beans are a big part of our diet. Going from sorting dried beans to finished, tasty, well cooked beans in under an hour makes me happy. The money I've saved by not buying canned beans alone would pay for a pressure cooker. I make food for our dogs. A pressure cooker is excellent for cooking meat. Food cooks quickly and efficiently and that's a good thing in the summer heat. I've used a pressure cooker most of my life and I personally prefer this simple, stainless steel model to any of the fancier ones. The parts are easily available and a breeze to switch out. It's easy to clean. The simplicity and straightforward design assures me that I know exactly how well everything is functioning.

Great pressure cooker!!
The packaging was great & it arrived in perfect condition! Read the instruction manual and you will not have any trouble either. Lid goes on easily, food cooks fast and taste good. If you cook dried beans be sure to use one of the two suggested presoaking methods suggested first. I like the quick soak method. We have made several recipes and really liked both. The recipies are simple to do. Quick to cook and taste great. Can't wait for our next cooking adventure.

LOVE the Stainless Pressure Cooker
I love my new Pressure Cooker. I replaced one that was 45 years old. It still worked until the seals dried out and became too dangerous to use. This newer version is a much improved version. I love the stainless steel finish and the seals are much improved. It is a beauty. I think any cook would love this in addition to the kitchen.

Great pressure cooker
My mother in law had a Presto pressure cooker and used it all the time. This is a nice modern version of that. It takes the guess work out of knowing when the air is out of the cooker and when to put the pressure regulator on. With this cooker, you put your food and liquid in, put the lid on, and put the round pressure regulator on the spout on top, then heat it up. You only have to adjust and watch the heat to get a steady rocking motion on the regulator. Getting the lid on is not a problem, just follow the directions exactly as written. It does cook food faster, but remember there is still a heat up and cool down period. You can get potatoes done in less than half an hour. I cooked chicken and vegetables for soup and from beginning (prep) to end it was about an hour, which is great cause soup usually has to cook a lot longer. Overall, this is a well made, well known product. It is stainless steel (very nice). I chose the 6 quart size just to make sure it was big enough for whatever I needed to do. Presto parts are very easy to find and replace. For those who want a way to cook in less time, this is just for you.

No more aluminum cooking!!
No more aluminum! I love this sleek stainless steel pressure cooker. I have used pressure cookers all my life and don't know what I would do without them. The new handle design makes opening the cooker so easy! The 6 quart capacity can cook enough to feed the family and will accommodate a large roast. I use for all my dry beans because I can have perfectly cooked beans in one hour without having to soak them overnight (who has the time and remembers to do that all the time?). Presto is the best!
