Works well at a bargain price
Although we have an oblong toilet bowl, I went ahead and ordered it in hopes that it might prove to work better than the one we had been using. The old one had clamps that held the extension onto the stool that consistently needed to be retightened. We hoped this might be better. In fact, it has worked quite well and we are very pleased. It isn't a perfect fit, but because of the rim that reaches down into the opening of the bowl, movement is minimal and we scarcely notice it in use. It' easy to remove to clean the it and the toilet as necessary. It is the best solution we have tried in an effort to raise the height of the toilet. In addition, it is surprisingly comfortable - a real for us.

I am a new person now!
What a blessing this item is. I am 70 years old and two months ago I fell and broke my Femur right next to the ball and it was a nasty break the surgeon said. I did OK at the rehab facility but once I got home it was a whole different ball game. We had new taller toilets put in when we remodeled the bath and I thought I would be fine. Come to find out that those tall toilets weren't that tall after all. Once down I couldn't get up without help, plus it was hard on the knees. Then I found this little beauty and ordered it and I have been in Heaven ever since it arrived. It has a lip that rests inside the bowl and holds it in place but it still allows it to shift a tad one way or the other. Not to worry, it won't fall off. I did have an occasion where I sat there so long that when I stood up it stuck to my behind, other than that I have no complaints. You have to use it with a bit of common sense of course. I lower myself down gently and I move around slowly and I can lean one side or the other to wipe without any mishaps. The only thing I might add is that I am 5'9" and my feet barely touch the floor so I found something to slide in place to rest my feet on and when I am ready to stand, I move it out if the way for safety reasons. If your toilet measures 15" and is not elongated, then you should have no troubles using this item. My knees feel so wonderful now that they are not being taxed to the max like they were before. If I could give it an extra star, I would.

Sometimes Simple is Better
This toilet seat rocks because it doesn't rock. Other seats I tried had tightening screws connected to expanders underneath to lock it in under the seat yet are still rather unsteady with certain body movements side to side. However the simple design of this seat proved superiority the stability department. I am grateful to the previous reviewer who posted pictures of the underside that has an oval angled piece of plastic under this seat that keeps it located on the bottom toilet. I just had hip replacement surgery and I would rate this seat as outstanding for the purpose of being higher to accommodate easier lowering and rising. Perhaps its best feature is the similarity it as to a standard toilet seat with ample size for all the parts that need to fit along with no undue pressure on the sides of the pelvis due to a downward slope of the seat itself - this seat is level. It rocks!

This seat is great. I have rheumatoid arthritis and my knees are pretty bad. It fits securely, doesn't wobble and makes my life so much easier. The best part is, when I have company I can just hide it in the shower. Note: It fits on the bowl, not on the seat. Unfortunately the toilet lid cannot be lowered while in use. Comfortable and easy to clean. I am only 53 and am not ready to install a permanent riser, so this is perfect for me. Love it.

Useful and Practical
If you have had hip or TKR surgery, you know certain functions become difficult to manage. Most insurance companies send you home with a commode seat chair with insert and handles. Fine if you have the fanny of a 14 year old anorexic but most candidates for hip and knee replacement are older and tend to weigh a bit more than 80 pounds and have an ample caboose. This inset will make everyone just a bit happier. The added height will certainly be appreciated by those recovering from knee surgery as it's just enough to allow the legs do their job: lift you up.

Great for arthritis!
I have arthritis in both knees and trouble sitting down and standing back up. This seat makes the toilet the perfect height. It is also easy to pop on and remove, lightweight, and simple to clean. No more knee strain. Thank you!

Post Hip Replacement
I bought this raised toilet seat as an assist after hip replacement. This product was easy to install (per my husband it just snapped on). I was worried about the snapping on and security, but there's no slipping and its very secure. I've been using it for 3 weeks and no adjustments have needed to be made. I would definitely recommend this product.

Good solution
This works great. I flipped up both the toilet seat and lid, dropped this raised seat into place, and I was ready to go. It fits fine. If you use your hands to TRY to make it wobble, it will. A little. But using it for a week, it doesn't seem dangerous, and I haven't encountered any of the problems mentioned in 1-star reviews. I have a herniated disc and the physical therapist recommended a raised toilet seat. This does the job. The perfect solution is to have a plumber install a chair-height toilet. That's completely stable and eliminates any possible problems of a smaller hole. But that's not inexpensive.

Simple solution to a serious problem!
I purchased this for my mother that is awaiting knee replacement surgery. I felt a little strange giving it to her but knew she was struggling getting up and out of chairs and she had mentioned hurting her shoulder trying to pull herself up with her bathroom sink. She called me practically crying tears of joy as this simple seat made her life so much easier. She asked me to order another one so she could keep one upstairs and downstairs. Second one arriving tomorrow and her shoulder is not hurting her anymore. Well worth the money!

Post surgery lifesaver
This is one of the top 3 most important things I valued as I was completely non-weight bearing on one foot after surgery. I sincerely believe this device saved the knee on my good leg. I debated on whether to get the one with the handles, but I'm in decent shape. For the elderly or those with other conditions, the handles might be necessary. For me this was perfect. The opening is small, so I always take it off for #2. Gross, I know, but it's hard to clean when you're a foot down so it's something to think about it.
