nice lock for price

I think it would be unlikely to make an inadvertent mistake when entering a code for the lock. 1st, you turn the slot 90', then turn the 4 dials to select the code word (two letters at a time per dial are displayed prior to being moved into the selection slot), after the code is correctly entered, turn back the slot the 90' to set your code. The slot cannot be accidentally moved as it must be depressed while turned using a paper clip, small screw driver, etc. Hold down a button to insert the lock into the computer's Kensington slot, release the button, then randomize the code letters. The cable is coiled and expands from 3" to 6'. Remove the lock from the computer by moving the code letters into place, hold down the button, and remove the lock. My lock is stable ~ there is no wiggle in either the letter dials or the clip that locks it into the computer. I purchased the lock so that I can use my laptop in an expo booth and not worry about someone walking off with the computer as I'm occupied dealing with a customer. I would not depend on this style of lock should I need to walk away from the computer as likely wire cutters will untie it from the cable. I placed my order on the a Thurs and received the item on Monday.

need to lock up gear, which I got it in red or orange. Great visual remainder that not an easy to steal the gear.

Excellent product, good laptop lock option for travel.

This is a good, solid lock. The number wheel can be set to your custom combo easily. Good cheap lock.

i got this lock for my college dorm, and difficulty of "anchoring" the lock onto your desk depends on the desk design--mine had a hole in the middle of the desk so I looped the end of the lock through... otherwise, you'll have to "chain" the end of this lock to a fixed pole of some sort. also, the instructions for setting up the lock combination are very easy. definitely user friendly and will keep your floormates from playing too many tricks on you.

Works great. So many of my devices have pre cut holes for this lock in them. I use it for: MacBook Pro DJ Controller Portable Piano Keyboard Midi Keyboard Large Desktop Monitor The only thing i don't like is the coil tangles itself sometimes and can be annoying but doesn't effect functionality. Easy to use and reprogram with just a pen or something to push in the setting button

I use it everyday at work, because my company is undergoing "social engineering" practice exercises. We need to take our laptops home every night. In the day, I have it locked up with this. It won't deter someone with a bolt cutter, but perhaps a petty thief would take my coworker's unlocked stuff instead.

I had my old computer lock for several years and I lost it this past weekend. I looked on Amazon and found one that was very similar. I received it today (9/2/14) and set a new combination for it. It works perfectly and it is much easier to use with the button release. I am very happy with my new lock.
