I wanted a light secure little lock like this for my Dell notebook. I travel a lot and have my laptop out at customer sites and in airline lounges all the time. this allows me to leave it unattended for short periods to do what i need to without worrying about someone just scooping it up on the way out. Sure they could cut it with a pair pliers, but I figure if they are going to steal one they'll take one of the other unlocked ones before trying for mine.

Solid, easy to set combination, great price

Exactly what I needed.

My 2 sets of combination cables arrived quickly. The instructions were clear. Setup was very fast. They were opened, tested, and installed in less than 5 minutes for both. The cables are sturdy, well coated, and flexible. The dials on the combination have no extra play in them. They were easy to turn and very easy to read. These are used to secure new chip credit card readers. The locking mechanism for the Kensington slot perfectly.

Good lock

No problems, seems good. The "ultra" is probably the better choice, as I don't even think it's that long. I can't comment on if it's hard to cut, but it definitely seems strong. Setting a new pin was easy, I just had to use a very small flathead.

So worth it

Already saved my MacBook once (after my first one was stolen too). I wish there was more warning about kids running through cafés and snatch and grabbing laptops. Luckily these + that switchblade adaptor for Mac meant the would-be thief grabbed it, continued running (blink of an eye fast btw), but the laptop dropped as this leash pulled taught. Luckily don’t think anything jostled loose, yet...

Works great for what it's made for

This lock is not made to defend against a dedicated thief with lots of time/tools with which to steal. Rather, it's made to secure the laptop against a casual "grab and run" thief. For that purpose, this lock works just fine. The locking mechanism fit snugly in the Kensington Security Slot of the laptop. Once the combination was scrambled, the locking apparatus remained locked. It works as designed, and I have no complaints. I've even decided to buy an additional lock for my daughter's MacBook Pro.

GREAT locks

REad several reviews on this lock before purchasing 2 of them. They work PERFECT and as expected. Yes, you could easily cut them off ( as with any of the laptop locks ) but the idea is to slow the bad guys down and stop the NOT SO BAD ones. Small, light, easy to use. Perfect addition for both my wife and I ( both on MacBook Pro's ). Will recommend to anyone asking for a good lock. I always recommend that anyone with a laptop have some sort of lock and this is PERFECT.

Better than expected; Get the longer version.

The first thing that struck me about this lock is that it is made of high quality materials with better than average fit and finish. Cheapness this lock does not feel like. The second pleasant surprise is that it has a 4 digit (many locks only have 3) combination. I bought the 4.4m one and it is adequate but I also fee it may might be inadequate in many situations. I suggest purchasing the longer one. Pros: 1)Made of high quality materials with good fit and finish. 2)4 digit combination. That's 10,000 different combination including 0000. Cons: 1)Fairly expensive and the longer version, which is what I recommend, is over $30.
