The hose worked great, as I wanted to get the water discharged away from the pool deck. I would recommend purchasing a second length of the same hose kit. 24 feet was acceptable, but 48 would be better, considering the 5 foot draw from the bottom of the pool, and the 10 foot distance across the pool deck to the fence, I only had 11 foot of hose to get the water awaY. I also purchased the check-valve, and 1/3 HP pump. These were recommended in the “Items also purchased together with the hose” section. The check valve served it’s purpose, and only allowed water to flow away from the pump, and not back thru it. The pump worked very well, and as advertised. I wish there was a higher horsepower available, because it took a while to lower my pool level for the winter closing. According to the manual, I had about 34 gallons per minute, since I was pumping from approximately 5 foot underground. I have a 40,000 gallon pool, and it took just under 3 hours to lower the water about 10 inches. away from the pool deck. I read a few of the other comments, concerning the hose adapter not connecting to the pump discharge. While the pump discharge connector is much smaller than the hose adapter, the check valve kit will allow for the pump AND check-valve AND hose to all connect together and work as advertised.

I am a 71 yr old single woman who was able to hook this hose up by myself! It was very easy and is working great. I was able to receive this hose day after I ordered it because of Amazon Prime. We have been having a lot of rain and my old hose was full of leaks and kept falling off the discharge pipe on the house. Thank you for letting me fill at ease once again not having to worry about all of that water coming into my house.

Forgo making up all kinds of adapters - Purchase the Superior Check Valve, which is needed on the pump anyway. The pump, check valve and Superior Discharge Hose fit together like a glove.

Works like a champ... Use this hose set with the “Spears 1435 Series PVC Tube Fitting, Adapter, Schedule 40, Gray, 1-1/4" Barbed x NPT Female.” Fit perfectly and a minor upgrade from the 1-1/4 to 3/4” exit. Now I have a 1-1/4” to a direct 1-1/4” exit maxing out the exit volume. Love it.

I purchased a submersible pump from Harbor Freight but when I got it home it said "Do not use in swimming pools", so I returned it. I purchased the Superior Pump from Amazon and it arrived in 2 days. I have used the pump 2 times now and I can't say enough good things about it. It pumped the pool down to all but an 1/8th of and inch of water. I also purchased the 25 foot hose and adapters which came in handy. My pool is salt water so I didn't want to discharge it onto the grass. I connected the hose and pool hoses and ran it into the sewer drain directly. Worked great and fast. Now my neighbors want to borrow it for some jobs they have.

The Superior 99624 pump seem built well and will be a handy tool for what it's made to do, pump relatively clean water. Don't expect to drop it in a pond, walk away and come back in 3 hour and find the pond dry. It wasn't designed or built for such jobs. But for intermittent water removal from places you don't want water, the Superior is a great choice, and get the Discharge Hose Kit and 99555 Universal Check Valve, they really will save you a lot of time and hassle.

We occasionally have to drain or partially drain our swimming pool due to CYA or Calcium levels, so I have a submersible pump that I have always used with a 3/4' garden hose. After waiting all day for our pool to drain last week, I decided to purchase this hose. I just did a test, and with a 3/4" garden hose attached, I could fill a 5 gallon bucket in 25 seconds. When I removed the garden hose and installed this hose, I could fill a 5 gallon bucket in just under 10 seconds. Huge difference using the same pump. This hose took me from 12GPM, to 30 GPM, that is 2.5 times faster. You may not have the same results if your pump is of a higher or lower capacity. I have a 3/4HP pump rated at 4400GPM. This hose is lightweight and very flexible, but I don't think it would hold up well for heavy or daily use. For occasional use, it will work just fine and last a long time.

I picked this up to use with my Superior Pump 91250, it works great, flows a lot of volume. The Superior Pump 91250 has a 1 1/4" male threaded output and this hose has a 1 1/4" male barb fitting so I picked up a 1 1/4" to 1 1/4" female PVC coupler at Grainger to attach the hose and that worked very well, nice and heavy duty. Some people here complain about the Superior pump and Superior hose both having male connections but it is because Superior makes a check valve that can go between them (sold separately), if you don't want the check valve you need a coupler. I have also seen this 1 1/4" female to barb fitting on Amazon "Spears 1435 Series PVC Tube Fitting, Adapter, Schedule 40, Gray, 1-1/4" Barbed x NPT Female " which should also work.

Just because I'm shape-impaired, it took me a while to install the right mix of plumbing parts and the hose. Still, it took under ten minutes. In my trial run, the pump emptied my spa in under twenty minutes; it dropped the pool over an inch every ten minutes. I did install the check valve, because I don't think I'll need it, but just to be cautious. I called customer service before start up to be sure I had it right; got to them at the factory rather than a call center immediately and the agent was very sharp
