I have been trying to unplug my 5 year old's ears for a very long time. He won't hold still for the doctor, so they wouldn't remove the wax in office. They told me what to do at home, and I tried my darndest to get it out, but nothing worked. Both ears were completely plugged with wax.I finally ordered the elephant ear washer because of the great reviews, and it was my last ditch effort before going back to the doctor. I kid you not... after roughly 10 minutes of using this thing - both of his ears were flushed and CLEAN! I can clearly see the ear drum, and all wax is removed. One ear had 1/2 inch thick plug come out. We found some little tricks to getting it comfortable to use... water temperature is tricky to get just right but makes a huge difference for comfort. Because I knew we had a lot of wax, I followed the included instructions for the water and vinegar solution. Also, start squirting at the outer edge of the ear, keep squirting, and gently move the tube further into the ear at the same time. That made a huge difference somehow lubricating the tube so it didn't hurt as it went in. When we got those two things correct, my son actually enjoyed having it in his ear. Best money I ever spent.

I use this device in my clinic as a Nurse Practitioner. I found that it worked quickly and easily with patients and decided to purchase one for home. Everything that you need to get started comes in the kit. You will need to purchase additional ear wick attachments though. The kit came with a few, I do not remember how many, but I believe it was 5 or less. From a clinician standpoint, I would add a few drops of baby shampoo into the water, shake and then use the device as instructed. The baby shampoo helps to loosen the wax in the ear. Remember, that the wax in the ear is supposed to be there and this is when wax build-up is extreme and it affects hearing.

This product is FANTASTIC!! Back story: I took my 7 yr old to the pediatrician for his yearly physical and he said that my son had a lot of wax build up in his ears. The doctor suggested using debrox to soften and remove the wax. I tried it but that did not help. We went to see another doctor about the wax and he suggested using a few drops of peroxide then flush with warm water. I tried that and it helped, but the change was very minimal. Rather than paying for the doctor to remove the wax I decided to research on my own. I'm so glad I did. Before purchasing this product I read a lot of the reviews and looked at some very gross pictures then decided I would give it a try. The mixture I used in the bottle was 1 part peroxide (a third of the bottle) 2 parts very warm water (2 thirds of the bottle) gave it a shake and used my husband as the Guinea pig. From each ear there was a large clump of wax that was literally washed out of his ear, so gross. I emptied the bottle in one ear, refilled and flushed the second ear, also emptying the bottle. Each time he sat on the bed with a towel draped around him and a plastic bowl to catch the water as it cascaded out of his ear. Then we moved on to my son. I made the same mixture (also I changed the tip) when I flushed his right ear nothing came out. I thought maybe it was just stuck, so I flushed the same ear a second time and still nothing. Then I flushed his left ear and it was like the mud faucet opened. So much wax came out, the water was brown. I refilled and flushed the same ear a second time. Again more wax came out, not as muddy as before but there were clumps. So I flushed a third time and this time it was all clear. This thing really worked and my son said his ear felt really clean, which was great.

Love! This product! It was easy to use. My son always has a lot of ear wax and gunk that gets stuck in his ear and this removed all of it!

Amazing, amazing!!!! It got this huge piece of wax out of my brothers ear. Make sure you put a softener in the ear before and then do the wash. Also use purified water and warm it up. Cold water will hurt.

I can't believe I forgot to review this. This was a game-changer. Two years ago I was suffering from random waking vertigo and I would get dizzy when bending over to touch my toes pretty consistently. I also started suffering from sinusitis and on some camping trips in the Rocky Mountains my ears would essentially not "pop" when changing elevation causing significant inner-ear pressure. After having blood work done and ruling out other complications and researching symptoms online I suspected an inner-ear issue. I saw several doctors and even an ENT specialist and they all inspected my ears and said I had absolutely no ear wax in my ears. Call it a gut feeling, intuition, whatever, but I just didn't believe them. I purchased several different kinds of ear cleaning kits as well as several kinds of ear wax drops. I spent weeks testing them out and trying to see if I had any ear wax impaction. I used the turkey-baster design, the ball-and-nozzle design, a nasal irrigator, I used hydrogen peroxide, olive oil, I tried taking hot showers, I tried exercising heavily to essentially heat my head to soften the wax and then doing all of the above and nothing worked. I really started to believe what the experts had told me and I doubted myself. And yet, I couldn't shake the feeling there was something blocking my ears. I needed something stronger. And then I found this. I unpacked everything and read the warnings about not inserting the tip too far so you don't rupture your ear drum. I exercised until my head was hot and then tilted my head and added the olive oil and hydrogen peroxide drops and waited about five minutes. I filled the bottle with warm/hot water and slowly inserted the tip into my right ear, wondering how painful it would be if I touched my eardrum. I kept going until the blue disc was against my outer ear and I felt nothing. No pain, no sensation, no feeling, nothing. So I pulled the trigger, barely feeling the jet stream in my ear. I did this slowly, and ramped it up from there. And then I saw a few pieces of wax, like the size of fingernail clippings, fall into the sink. Inspired, I basically began squeezing non-stop, emptying the bottle into my ear. It felt like something was dislodging and coming loose in my ear. And then, presto, magic, euphoria. A huge piece of earwax, about the size of a lima bean, fell right out of my ear into the sink. I was stunned, floored. I repeated the same process in my left ear and had the exact same result. I kept staring at those two globs in the sink, amazed. My waking vertigo vanished. The dizziness I experienced when bending over or tilting my head vanished. The sinusitis cleared up and has not returned since. My ears pop when changing elevation like they should. My hearing is so much better than it was before. In an odd way I felt like I was younger, more youthful, and I was only 24 at the time haha. A year after that initial cleaning I thought it would be a good idea to clean my ears again. So I repeated the process just like before and when I slowly inserted the tip into my ear I didn't get halfway to the blue disc when I suddenly felt an incredibly sharp pain; the tip had just grazed my ear drum. When I had done it the first time the ear wax impaction was so thick I was able to jab that thing as hard as I wanted into my ear without feeling a thing. The second time around, a year later, and I couldn't even graze my eardrum without doubling over in pain. So please be careful when using this product. But it is an absolute game-changer; it literally changed my life.

Very pleased with this system, but be aware that it won't always work the first time. I had been using a bulb system before, couldn't get the wax to come out. This system is much more forceful and has way more capacity, so you can wash and wash with it. But even with multiple washings it wasn't able to dislodge a wax deposit I had. It did a great job of softening it, so combined with an otoscope (Dr. Mom) to help me locate it, and an ear wax removal tool (plastic with discs on one end and a scoop on the other), I was able to gently get hold of the deposit and remove it. Yuck! Nothing more gross, but it's just how we're made. Hearing instantly restored. If you have issues, I suggest getting an otoscope, this washer and a basin, and an ear wax removal tool. Oh, and an assistant, the most important part! If you decide to use the tool after repeated washings don't work, be EXTREMELY careful. I barely hold on to the tool when putting it in the ear canal, contact with the eardrum must be avoided and is extremely uncomfortable if you do so. If you have any doubts at all about using a tool, go to your PCP or an ear doctor instead. Using the otoscope to locate the exact position helps a lot, you can use a mirror to look at the angle of the otoscope, then when you (not your assistant!) use the ear wax tool, you can angle it the same way and locate the wax more easily. Good luck.

These bottle have saved me a lot of copays with the ENT. My 6 year old ears would get clogged every two weeks with a beige consistency which wasn't wax. I went through 3 ENTs in 3 years trying to getting him well and none of them could figured out that he had a problem with ear fungus. I tried every ear drop prescribed, listed on Amazon, and sold at whole foods and nothing helped until I started washing his ears with this bottle and putting two drops of alcohol in each ear right after. He didn't mind the ear washing at all. His ears have been cleared for 6 weeks now after 3 long years of suffering. Is a miracle.

I was skeptical..... but no more! I wish I took gross and disgusting pictures like everyone else! Needless to say, but my experience looked just like all those pictures...lol. I've always been bugged by ear wax, and I've been going away from q-tips because everyone says they're bad and all that. But one night I couldn't stand it anymore and I went to town with my old love the q-tip. Huge mistake, I impacted the wax so bad I was like half deaf, then I got all freaked out and made my own solution of 1/4 hydrogen peroxide and squirt it in my ear for 5 minutes. That seemed to get a little out, but it was crackling! I went to bed and woke up to even worse deafening. So I had enough and ordered this, we read the directions and my wife filled it up with hot water(because it gets cool quick, and I didn't mind it being on the hotter side) and she put vinegar in, which I thought was weird, but that is what the directions stated. Well I couldn't be happier, because I could feel it working, and it was crackling. I had my wife pump/spray for me, and you have to get a constant pump action going to get best results. We did my problem ear, and a lot came out, but nothing crazy, I had her do it 4 or 5 times. So then we did my good ear, and a huge chuck came out, to which I was very pleased! No complaints, the only issue I had was the water was stuck in my ear after, and I needed to suction it out with my hands. I've had swimmers ear in the past, so I don't even know if I should be using this, but I didn't care.... but I am curious.

I wear hearing aids and recently my hearing has severely degraded. People would often have to repeat their sentences and so on. At first I thought it could be my hearing aids were either going bad or my hearing was getting worse. After doing some searches I determine it could be possible my ear could be full of wax. You would think being a hearing aid wearer that I would be on top of the ear wax removal game, but that's not the case in my situation. The only time that I remember wax being removed is when I went to the doctor's office for a physical one year and they noticed excess wax. The doctor attempted to flush it out and got a little bit out, but then told me to work on getting out. I bought one of those ear wax removal kits and used it for about a week and not much came out, so I just thought there was none to be removed. With the degrading of my hearing I knew I needed to get the best ear washing device to rid any wax from my ear so I opted for the Elephant Ear Washer. The device has many great reviews and it was the pictures that convinced me this was the way to go. I know there are many fake reviews for products on the internet, but who's going to be posting fake ear wax pictures? I ordered on a Thursday and picked the next day air shipping and got it on Friday. I wanted to make this a weekend project. One of the first things I noticed was how the device was manufactured. A spray bottle with a tube attached and the other end with a male luer lock fitting with plastic guard on the other end. Being an engineer it was apparent this device has a high markup. After work on Friday I was pretty pump to get this working. I used the distilled water and vinegar solution as they recommended. I filled up the bottle with my solution and warmed up the bottle running warm water on it and then I proceeded to the bathroom sink. I pumped about 5 or 6 times and nothing was coming up. Did it a few more times, and noticed some fragments coming out. I remember I had some ear wax softening liquid form the ear wax removal kit and decided to use those drops and let it sit and when back to work. Did a few more pumps and I struck gold (well not gold, but wax) and a big chunk came out. Finally I was seeing results. Kept pumping until no more was coming out and switched to the other ear using the same method. And more chunks came out in that ear as well. (see picture) After the process I went to take a shower because I had a vinegar smell on me. After the shower I put my hearing aids on again and it was so obvious I could hear much better. Sounds I did not hear previously were all of sudden apparent. In my opinion this product was very good at what it was suppose to do. There are risk when pumping water in your ear so make sure you are careful when doing that and softening the wax up helps as well. I highly recommend this product.
