Although it may seem to some like a complete waste, I bought this 2-pound bag of Himilayan pink salt to use to make salt scrubs, but I've also used it as a finish salt to certain dishes. It makes a pretty presentation and wonderful taste when sprinkled on top of a piece of unsalted butter to be served with bread. (If you haven't tried salt on unsalted butter, you will be a convert.) The high mineral content -- hence, the pink -- gives it a unique but not overbearing taste. For salt scrubs, the fine grind is perfect. When I first tried experimenting with scrubs, I erroneously thought I would need a coarser grain, but that size doesn't exfoliate as well. This is what you want -- and it creates an attractive scrub, particularly when stored in a clear glass jar. --- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

I didn't truly appreciate other salts until I got ahold of this. There are a ton of other reviews on here about mineral content and price, so I won't go into any of that. I'll leave my favorite recipe with this salt instead. Easiest meal I make and it comes out perfect 100% every single time I make it. Grab a 4-5 lbs. pork butt (Boston butt). Coat the outside generously with your Himalayan salt. Place 3 strips of bacon on the bottom of a crock pot. Turn your crock pot on low, place the pork on top of the bacon, and forget about it for about 10 hours. You won't really forget about it because the smells will be too enticing. When its ready... carefully take the pork out of cooker and shred/breakdown in a separate container. Add back in the juices from crock pot till you get to your desired salt level. That's it! I'm Southern, so I love to pair it with collard and turnip greens. In my next episode, I'll be discussing ribeyes...

True Himalayan Pink Salt. I won't bore you with all the wonderful benefits of this mineral-rich salt. I'll figure you won't be here if you aren't already aware of them. This is excellent, rich, pink salt. It is ground very well, and is suitable for use as both kitchen and table salt. It has a nice flavor and works perfectly in all our recipes. If you plan to store it in a shaker, you want to add some uncooked rice in with it, or it will lump badly. It is very fine, so it absorbs all the moisture, without rice to help it. We love the quality of this brand, and will buy more, and more. :)

I bought this wonderful pink Himalayan seas salt because I have headaches on a daily basis. I was told I should try this to get rid of them. I have been adding this to my water nightly before bed and drinking it down. I have not woke up with a headache in a month. It is wonderful. It is fine and dissolves in water super fast. I have not used it in cooking yet but I am sure it would be great. I would highly recommend. I purchased this item at full price and the opinions stated in this review are unbiased and of my own personal opinion. I hope this is helpful with your purchasing decisions. I have a friend who is very health conscious about what goes into her body and the bodies of her family and friends, and she is who inspired me to purchase this Pink Himalayan Crystal Salt. I received it a few days ago, and am very happy with the size of the bag. The price is also really great to me. Eating whole foods and natural/non gmo is very good for you, but I know it sometimes can be financially more substantial than ready made/chemical based products. This I had already switched from Iodide salt to kosher natural salt, as well as sea salt. I prefer sea salt for cooking. This salt is definitely different than either of these salts. It is saltier (IMHO) but not in a bad way. You simply need LESS of this than traditional salt. Which I really like because that means it LASTS LONGER :) I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this product.

The Spice Lab's (fine ground) Pink Himalayan salt has become my Go To for use in both cooking and wellness applications. It is hand ground, but is actually of a uniform coarseness - unlike some other hand-ground salts I have tried, which enables it to be dissolved quickly in foods, and offers a perfect textural component for use in an all natural, exfoliating body scrub! There are many DIY recipes online for such a scrub, and the texture of this lovely salt, plus the benefits of its mineral content, leave my skin feeling so fresh, and smooth after every shower! Finally, The Spice Lab is an ethically operated business one can feel good about supporting, and this tasty, healthy salt is a STEAL at their prices. Highly recommended.

So, a little over 3 years ago, I was diagnosed with liver damage caused by a medication. And I was put on this pretty restrictive diet that I follow as meticulously as I can, I believe the exact words from my Doctor's office on the matter were "low sodium, low sugar, low fat, low cholesterol..." Pretty much if it's a well-loved fixture of the typical American diet, shouldn't have it. Following it has served me well. And pretty much the only thing that attracted me to this salt is that it has 170mg of sodium less then typical table salt for the same size serving. That's a significant enough reduction that I feel better using it for those recipes where I do use salt, and find that eliminating it entirely more or less makes it hard for everybody in the house to eat. I still often reduce the amounts recipes call for, but it has been very useful to have this around, and neither I nor any of the salt loving members (ok, I'm not salt loving, but the whole rest of our team totally is) of my household have noticed any problems with the taste. It has held up well to storage. As a side note for people who don't take a multi-vitamin, this does not indicate anywhere on the package that it is enriched with iodide, which is something that benefits thyroid health, so if you exclusively use this, it's a good idea to make sure you're getting that from another source.

I've been getting my extended family hooked on this salt. It goes into practically everything I cook and eat--no more table salt. I bought a bag of this for my wife's folks at Christmas (OK, maybe it was for me too since I hadn't brought any pink salt along), and then I find out recently that they're filling their salt shakers with it and are totally on board now. And their younger kids are talking about how much better my salt tastes. I've bought both the crystals for my grinder and this finely ground salt, which I use more of since many times I'm cooking or moving fast and don't have the time to do much salt grinding. Now, I have had a few pink salts that definitely tasted superior and I don't doubt they were (If I could remember what they are--I'd say), but for the price, this is a good buy to get pink sea salt. For folks used to cheaper table salt, this is a great option to get much healthier and better tasting salt without breaking the bank.

This is a wonderful salt and worth every penny (more actually, but don't tell the seller I said that! 😉). The flavor is amazing! It is so natural tasting and there is no harshness. I love that it's hasn't been stripped of all the natural occurring vitamins and minerals. I don't know if there are enough to impact our riet, but I like that it hasn't been so processed. The grind is fine enough to dissolve easily when cooking, but large enough to be able to pick up with your fingers. A little smaller than traditional kosher salt and larger than traditional table salt.. The seller is incredible and I can't say enough good things about them! I had an issue that they handled it better than could be expected. I will definitely purchase from them again and tell others how great they are!

The best salt on the planet! Throw away your table salt, it's killing you! Pink Himalayan Salt has electrolytes and minerals in it. It's good for you. Table salt, white, bleached, dead, is bad for your heart. PHS, is good for you and you can eat it every day, or create Sole with it, and drink (water/salt mixture). You have to look up Sole to know how to make it, with rock pink salt.
