This product arrived as pictured. I bought it to use with a pump that I fortunately have not had to use. If the need should arise, I will update this review.

Saved my Bacon when I had to replace my sump pump. The old check valve wouldn't come off the old pump. The great thing is that it came in two days, just before the rain storm that is expected to be here tonight.

Great engineering, and will attach easily to any 1-1/4 or 1-1/2" threaded fitting of either gender. What's not clear from the picture and description is that both ends of the valve are 1-1/2" male but ALSO inside threaded as 1-1/4" female! So with the pictured adapters each end can mate any one of four ways, something you will love especially for existing installations. If you're connecting to soft hose, you can also push your hose over the male threads (either size) and hose clamp it (hose and clamps not included). Once you look at it, it's so obvious, but this is the only valve I saw at Amazon that does this. 10 stars!

For the price I was very impressed. Note that there is a female 1 1/4 inside the 1 1/2 connection and by reversing the adaptors you can get a 1 1/2 female. Very versatile for whatever use you need. Update - installed on outdoor use sump. I figured that at the low price it would leak and not hold the water back over a long period. It worked like a champ holding the water for more than 20 hours .

I have been so confused and frustrated with getting my pond set up, and I can't tell you how many parts I have lying around that don't work. And then, after reading about how essential a check valve is, I took the chance on getting this. Well, it worked. It just worked. It was the easiest part of the setup, actually. I was afraid I'd somehow screw it up, but the flow direction is clearly marked on the check valve. What a relief.

We ordered a pump and at the bottom of page it said people who bought the pump also bought these. When we received the pump we didn't need them but kept them in case we could use them later on something else.

I purchased this to use with Superior Pump model 92330. I use the pump to reclaim laundry "gray-water" for the garden, which my plants and trees absolutely love. The previous pump I was using was having problems keeping up with the demand, often shutting off before the float had dropped all the way. Reading more, I saw that not using a check-valve could cause this type of symptom. Since I wanted to replace the tired old (loud) pump with a new quiet one from Superior, I went ahead and purchased this to install with it. It came with 2x 1-1/2" to 1-1/4" MPT/FPT reducers and has external and internal threads on both input/output as well. I used teflon tape on all the threaded joints to provide a better seal. Assembled without issue and works great so far.

Doesn't leak nor broke on me. I bought a check valve from a local hardware store and it leaked causing the pump to short cycle. I was hesitant buying this one but for $6 why not. Works perfect!

Prior to purchasing this pump and the hose that goes with it along with a check valve, I was using a wet vac with a pump attached to it. However the wet vac only held 14 gallons of water, which were pumped out of the pump through a very small garden hose, which took forever. What really made it so difficult was the fact that I had to sit next to the wet vac for hours, and I had to keep my hand in the wet vac to make sure that the pump was not clogged. And the water was very cold and it was very time consuming to do that. So I came on to Amazon, and looked around and found this wonderful absolutely wonderful water pump, which sucks out water so fast that is just unbelievable and I'm very happy with it and I will buy another one if I had to

The check valve served it’s purpose, and only allowed water to flow away from the pump, and not back thru it. I also purchased the 24 foot hose and 1/3 HP pump. These were recommended in the “Items also purchased together with the check valve” section. The pump worked very well, and as advertised. I wish there was a higher horsepower available, because it took a while to lower my pool level for the winter closing. According to the manual, I had about 34 gallons per minute, since I was pumping from approximately 5 foot underground. I have a 40,000 gallon pool, and it took just under 3 hours to lower the water about 10 inches. The hose worked great, as I wanted to get the water discharged away from the pool deck. I would recommend purchasing a second length of the same hose kit. 24 feet was acceptable, but 48 would be better, considering the 5 foot draw from the bottom of the pool, and the 10 foot distance across the pool deck to the fence, I only had 11 foot of hose to get the water awaY. away from the pool deck. I read a few of the other comments, concerning the hose adapter not connecting to the pump discharge. While the pump discharge connector is much smaller than the hose adapter, the check valve kit will allow for the pump AND check-valve AND hose to all connect together and work as advertised.
