The basket holding the filter and coffee can be slightly awkward to remove and replace but with patience is a simple procedure. This is my 3rd Mr. Coffee machine. The two previous have worn out. (I can be tough on a coffee maker!) I got the programmable model thinking I'd never use it. I was wrong. It's great waking up in the morning knowing the coffee is ready. And, the 2 hour auto shut-off feature is great for preventing burned coffee. If I happen to leave without turning the machine off. My only complaint is having to have good lighting to see the clock, but once it's set there's no problem.

Great Coffeemaker!

I have been using the basic Mr. Coffee, since I had tried the programmable one years ago and found I didn’t actually program it very often. My husband ordered this one when our last Mr. Coffee quit because I couldn’t find a non-programmable Mr. Coffee anywhere. It came to us very quickly and we have been surprised to learn we like using the programmable function. It’s easy to set and we love waking up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The only thing we don’t like about it is the basket design which is clumsy to remove and replace without spilling some of the grounds.

My coffee is just right now, and I'm not worth anything until I've had my coffee with my pills, usually about 4:30 A M

It keeps my coffee hot. I was tired of the old one( not really so old, bought it coming home from the hospital in December 2017.I had my dau in law run into a item store and she got the one I did have. It never made my coffee hot enough, this one does, and it has self turn off set for about 2 hours. That's just right for me to get at least 2 good cups of coffee. I'd say it saved my bacon.

Excellent and basic

A fantastic basic coffee maker and $10 less than in the stores. Had to go back to the warm plate design as the more expensive machine I had with the container that was supposed to keep the heat in failed to ever do so. Sometimes sticking with the traditional machines is best!

ordered as a gift

The recipient needed a new coffee maker to replace one that had stopped working. She said this one works great. I also ordered the filter that can be used over and over so she wouldn't have to buy the paper ones. I highly suggest that additional item for anyone considering this item!

Makes coffee

For the coffee drinker who just needs a pot of coffee with no frills. You get out of it what you put in so filter your water and pick beans / grounds that suit your taste. Not much to it. Don't let yourself be shamed by the guy who only uses compostable filters or internet only specialty sourced beans. You like folgers, use folgers. You like cream? Do whatever you want.

Buy the washable filter

Love it. It was easy to set up the clock and the delay timer. The only thing I wish was that I had bought the washable filter at the same time. Now I have to wait a couple days for it to come. The place where you put filters, doesn't come out. It was a little messy getting the used paper filter out. Elsewise, is exactly what I wanted.

Perfect simple machine

We have a rental and the number one question we got from rentors during there stay was how to use the fancy coffee pot and complaints about the coffee...we switched to the mr. coffee and not one complaint since! It's easy (idiot proof) to use and makes a good cup of coffee. Well worth the $20

No frills, just a great cup of hot coffee.

I studied all the reviews when my coffee pot finally died to try to find something to give me a great cup of coffee. Finally ended up with this simple pot. I bought the gold filter to go along with it but I also use a brown filter paper with it so there is absolutely no sediment. I am thrilled with this put because there are no frills, it has a small footprint, shorter than most, has a timer so I can come out in the morning to a cup of strong hot coffee. Just what I wanted and inexpensive to boot.

Cant beat the price for well known Mr Coffee brand.

Ordered for my mom, she needed one to replace her last Mr Coffee that quit after 5+ years.The price on this model was lowest we found for a 12 cup programmable Mr Coffee brand. It arrived at scheduled time. She was worried that it came only in the Mr coffee box, but it was well packed with molded styrofoam to protect everything. Unpacked, set the clock, ran 2 cycles of water thru and then on to a perfect cup. The delay brew cycle worked fine for waking up to it already made. It is a little noisier than the last Mr Coffee and seemed the have a higher temperature on the warming plate. Still can't beat $20.00. We will update in a few months time to review continued performance.
