So useful.
This thing is so handy. I use it to make hummus and other bean dips. So much easier than using a food processor where you have to continually open it to scrape down the sides. With this I can process the hummus right in the bowl and it's ready to serve. The stick blade doesn't take up much room in the dishwasher. I had an older model before and with this one it is easier to detach the blade piece for washing. (You have to be attentive with a stick blender, though; I cut my finger up pretty bad once when I accidentally hit the power button (which is located on the handle where you hold it) while wiping out the blade area with my finger...20 stitches!)

Three speeds seem to be better than 8
I replaced an older unit that passed away, and went with the same brand. This unit only has 3 speeds vs. our older stick blender with 8 speeds. However, this unit gets the job done, and is not only comfortable in my large hands, but doesn't buck and kick on it's highest speeds like our older blender did. The blade component has gone through the dishwasher several times now, and is holding up. My only gripe was the blade component didn't seat well to the motor the first two times we used it. I think because the unit was new, the plastic molding needed to be broken in. I felt like I was going to break it while twisting the blade to the motor. However, after 3-4 uses, things started snapping together cleanly and now work well. The extra "stuff" that came with the unit has actually been handy. Sometimes manufacturers throw in some "junk" to make the customer feel like their getting more than they actually are, and while the extra stuff is flimsy, we've used the chopper several times now.

Very Pleased
I am so happy with this purchase! Previously, I had owned two of the Cuisinart stick blenders from Costco. Two, because the first one broke and we tried again and then that one broke too. This one not only seems to be better made, but the components are also better quality and easier to use. I use the mini food processor a lot. This one is much easier to use and the pieces chop more uniformly and smoother. I used the immersion blender to make mayo and it came out perfectly. So, don't settle for the Cuisinart...this one is so much better!

One warning on the mixing glass is not to fill it more than 2 cups with liquid like water to mix or it might come over the ...
bought this for a Christmas present. My wife has been using hers for a year or two now and loves it. I have used it myself to mix some stuff and I don't think you will find a more solid built hand blender than this one. My wife only tried the chopper attachment once, so can't really make a judgement on that yet but the whisk is very well built and the mixing glass works very well. One warning on the mixing glass is not to fill it more than 2 cups with liquid like water to mix or it might come over the top depending on what you are mixing. We had another hand blender like this but can't remember the brand. It didn't last long or work as well either.

I love this stick blender
I love this stick blender!!! We don’t have space in our kitchen for any more appliances but I really wanted to replace our old blender. I found this immersion blender with all the attachments, and for the price - I had to try it out. I’ve used almost all the attachments (except the whisk), and have never had any issues blending a single thing. I’ve chopped almonds, walnuts and cashews, vegetables and garlic in the chopping attachment with no issue. I’ve used the blender and tall cup for sweet potatoes and for soup. I really don’t think I’ll need a blender anytime soon; this little thing is super powerful and a true space saver!

Buy. This. Blender.
I knew this would be high quality because it's Kitchen Aid. The only very small complaint I have with this tool is that the blending arm is VERY hard to detach after use, but I expect that this will improve with time. If you are thinking about an immersion blender, I would recommend this one. And, if it is anything like the previous one I owned, which my grandparents purchased in 1985, I can be assured that I will have many, many years of happy blending ahead of me. (It should be noted that had I not dropped the previous one on my tile floor and broken the housing, I wouldn't have needed this one.) My kitchen wouldn't be complete without one.

Works well and seems more durable that the Cuisinart SmartStick
After owning several Cusinart SmartStick blenders (all of which inevitably broke due to a gear-stripping problem that you can read about in several reviews of its various models), I decided to look for something else. I can't believe I didn't find this KitchenAid hand blender before: it's reasonably priced (in the same range as the SmartStick when I bought it, plus as I found out later they have other models of the KitchenAid that cost less and don't include some of the "extras" but presumably share the KitchenAid's better design) and works quite well. If you're familiar with the SmartStick, it has everything I like about that. Most importantly, it blends well. Additionally, the blade shaft comes off for easy cleaning. It also includes a mixing/blending cup that is sized well to fit the blade shaft, though I happen to like the design of Cuisinart's better (which, given the "lip," also works well for serving or pouring, unlike this one, plus it's wider and a bit less tall which I think works better for blending larger chunks of food). Finally, it has adjustable speed (three in this case, though I got by with even a 1-speed Cuisinart--who also makes at least a 2-speed model I've used as well--just fine). The KitchenAid blender also includes some "extras" besides just the stick blender. Besides the blade shaft (which you'll use for regular stick blending, likely with the included cup), they include a small chopper as well as a whisk attachment. I've never used the whisk but assume it would work well; I have tried to use the chopper but don't recommend buying it just for that purpose. In my case, the lid is very hard to remove afterwards because it seems to create a vacuum inside (or at least a pressure difference) that makes the lid very difficult to remove, a problem that is exaggerated if you have liquid ingredients that might get stuck in the seal. I ended up having to throw mine out after the lid got stuck on so tight I couldn't get it off and accidentally broke it trying. It also includes a carrying bag for some of these accessories, which may be nice if you move yours around a lot (but mine just stays in the kitchen). My favorite thing about this blender is that the place where the blade attaches appears to be metal, which I assume will last much longer than the plastic on the Cuisinarts that kept getting destroyed on me after a few months to a couple years (quite variable) of daily use. The KitchenAid is holding up well for me so far after almost a year, still with nearly daily use, and I hope it continues to do the same. If you use your stick blender frequently like I do, I'd highly recommend this one (or a similar KitchenAid) over the Cuisinart SmartStick. If you use yours infrequently, either one should work well, so you may want to factor in other criteria like purchase price (though they weren't that different when I wrote this) or aesthetics (the Cusinart is mostly plastic, but the KitchenAid only has plastic on the motor section; the Cuisinart is available in more colors, but it appears this one is only silver/gray).

Gets the job done; love the whisk and chopper attachments
I bought this to replace an Oster 2-speed immersion blender. The Oster worked well, but didn't have a whisk attachment and I was tired of lifting my full size Kitchen Aid stand mixer onto the counter every time I wanted to whip a small amount of cream. This KitchenAid 3-speed blender meets my needs very well, and I use it nearly every day. The whisk does a good job of whipping cream, beating eggs, and mixing things, but it definitely takes a lot longer to whip cream than a dedicated mixer takes. The immersion blender does a great job blending soups and such, and the attachment is long enough to work in a deep soup pot. The food chopper does a good job, but be aware that it is a chopper and not a food processor. It can be used to chop or mince vegetables, but it won't make a super smooth hummus; for that you need a food processor. And if you just want to mince a few cloves of garlic, you may need to open the container and push the larger bits down the sides a few times. My 12 cup Cuisinart food processor stopped working, and I've used this KitchenAid chopper to make several batches of very good basil pesto. It just takes a few seconds longer than with a food processor, but it gets the job done. This product is heavier than some hand blenders, but it's so efficient that I don't get tired of holding it like others have reported. My only criticism is that it is rather industrial looking, and not in a good way, but I'm not deducting stars for style. This review is about function.

So Handy!
I mainly use this for making homemade sauces and soups. For years I just used my regular blender, but almost every time would come out with a little pain where hot hot soup or sauce splattered on it's transport to or from the blender. No more! now I can just use my immersion blender in place which is so nice. I haven't had a chance to use the accessory tools yet outside of the blender but am excited to find more uses for it.

Staple to my kitchen
This has been an awesome addition to the tools in my kitchen. The tools are easy to swap and clean, and all the attachments fit easily in the drawer. I haven't been able to fit everything inside the fabric carrying case, but I guess I don't typically travel with my immersion blender when vacationing. I wish that the blender had more than 3 speeds. Sometimes when whisking things, the jump between 2 and 3 seems too fast. Also, even on the highest speed I wish it could go faster for blending some thicker things. This is a great tool that I don't regret, I wish I ordered one sooner!
