Live louse at 40x and 100x
This is a louse that was found on my daughter's head. All the lice are now dead and my daughter is fine! This video was taken by holding a video camera up to the eyepiece of our AmScope model M100C-LED, so the actual view using your eye isn't so tunneled. We set the louse on top of a prepared slide, which is the pink material in the first part of the video. It was on its back, so you can see it moving its legs. The first nine seconds of this video is at 40x, and the rest is at 100x. We looked at the louse at 400x also, but I couldn't get decent video at that magnification. If you really want photo or videos, consider a different microscope with a built-in camera. This was a neat, educational, and gross way to show my daughter what was actually crawling around on her head. We also looked at nits and at another louse where you could see the blood inside its body at 100x and 250x, but we didn't take video of that. No complaints with the microscope at all; it's solidly built and of good quality all around. I expect it to last for many years of use.

Awesome!
I've bought multiple microscopes at thrift stores over the years, and invariably only the smallest magnification was clean enough to be able to see. I decided to spring for a new one, and boy am I happy. A few things you should know: 1) There was a review from someone whose little girl's eyes were damaged because the light was too bright. I can totally see how that could have happened, as small children aren't capable to noting when damage is occurring. When using the lowest magnifications, you will definitely want to lay a tissue across the light. But that strong light is your friend on the higher magnifications, which is one of the things that makes this microscope so awesome. 2) For older viewers (like me), you should expect that as you increase power, it's also magnifying all your floaters and even your cataracts, so on the higher magnifications, you may find it hard to see what's on the slide through what's on your eyes. Bummer. So do yourself a favor and go ahead an order a cell phone adapter mount. I just ordered one. The video I attached was just holding the phone by hand, which is harder than you'd think, thus why you see the light and shadow around the edges. But you don't get the floater magnification when you're looking at the cell phone. 3) Do note that this is just the microscope, so order some slides and slip covers. 4) I did some research before purchasing, and found an article about why microscope lenses go bad, and without going into too much detail, I also bought some color changing desiccant packets to put under the slip cover. Lesson learned: dark and moist = trouble. So keep it where it get's some like, and keep it super dry. The other thing I learned with research is that compound scopes have much clearer views, which is why this is such a good one. 5) I'm not too keen on the highest magnification, which I think requires oil, as it has to basically be touching the slide. But between the two eye pieces, and the other two opticals, it is more than adequate for the job. The attached video is with the 25x eye piece with the 10x optical.

Love it! Can easily see human sperm
Fantastic microscope. We use this to check the success of a vasectomy reversal. It gives a great view and has a really bright light. It's a heavy microscope too - feels sturdy.

Our daughter will use it for YEARS!!!
I never leave reviews but we bought this for our 6 year old daughter for Christmas, in hopes that we could pique her interest in science. I must say, it has a good weight to it and is very stable, and it is extremely well made! My husband and I were both surprised at the quality of the microscope materials and the smoothness of its functions. We pulled it out of the box and ‘tested it’ upon arrival, taking swabs of our dogs ear goo, our own saliva, hair follicles and plants we have in our house. We learned our dogs ears were just dirty and had no mites, and had a blast changing the magnification. The adjustment wheels are smooth and sturdy. The material is high quality and we couldn’t find a single design flaw. We purchased some preloaded slides and blanks (as suggested by amazon), we both agree our whole family will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. This is more of a tool than a toy and will require supervision for our daughter to use it. Definitely looking forward to engaging our scientific curiosity with the world around us!

This is very sturdy and well built
I got this for my grandson for a Christmas present. He was pretty excited. This looks strong and should hold up for a 10 year old, hopefully for many years. His teacher recommended this one for us to get. I wish it came with slides but we cut some glass for him so he could use it right away.

Great Scope for the Price
I got this to verify the success of a vasectomy. So far, the only problem I've encountered is the platform would not raise enough to focus, so I just had to set a second slide under the one I'm observing, and that gave it enough room to focus. I've used it on stagnant water and saliva, and have successfully been able to see cells with good clarity.

Great Value
for the $75 you can't go wrong. This is far and above any toy science Microscope you'll get at Toys R Us (which is to 900 power sometimes) those are cheap and plastic and currently in my trash can. This is similar to the real life, lab microscope I used working in a real lab. Sort of a mini version of the $4000.00 real Microscope. Nice metal body (other than needed an eye class screw driver to unscrew the tiny bolt and put the magnifying eye piece in which I only figured out after reading reviews) It worked really well. Nice cover. It would be nice if it came with cover slides etc. they are so cheap, just $5 and you will be upset when you discover you need to go back and order them. (not a huge deal, just should really caution the person NEED to buy some supplies) still 5 stars in my book. Be careful with it, cover it and it should last a long time.

Loving it!
We are really enjoying our microscope! My girls ages 7 and 6 were so happy to get this for Christmas. My husband and I have also liked checking out the close details. This year we learned about cells and we can see the cell walls of a plant with this which was pretty awesome!

Gift from Grandma!
This Microscope is the best I've ever used. It has a very sharp quality and I love the fact that it is battery-operated and ac adaptable. It has many cool features and backlights. One flaw I did not like about the microscope was that when it first came, it was covered in a sort of sticky, slippery film. It smelled very weird. I tried scrubbing it off but it has still not came off to this day, if you can ignore that, then this is the microscope for you. I would recommend this item to a high school/college student.

Great microscope!
My daughter got this for her birthday, she just uses it for her own interests, not sure how a scientist or science teacher would feel about it, but for a curious teenager it’s perfect!
