Doesn’t rust if cleaned properly. Excellent press
Excellent press!!! But, it needs to be seasoned. Cuisinart didn’t season it well. And don’t believe the reviews that says it rusts... it’s cast iron people, iron rusts unless you dry it with a towel or cloth. You can not leave anything cast iron to air dry. The proper cleaning method is just water and a sponge. Use kosher salt to scrub. Rinse and towel dry and you will never have a rust issue. But other then that, this is a heavy press and well built. It’s not a griswold so don’t expect the absolute best but a great press nonetheless.

Perfect.. but not
I Love Cuisinart. I have a Cuisinart Panini press, but since its not an appliance I use daily, it is put away with other infrequently used electrical appliances, like my waffle iron. I have MASSIVE amounts of cast iron, and I am Lodge cast iron all the way. I decided to buy a lodge square grill pan and a press so I could just grab and use those easier than dragging out the panini press for only one sandwich. I broke my Lodge only for cast iron rule and went with the Cuisinart cast iron press because of the lighter weight. I want my sandwiches grilled not smooshed to smithereenes. Pros.. the weight is perfect, and the wood handle does not get hot. It does press evenly, and does not squish everything flat. Cons.. I let it set on my ceramic top burner at the same temp and length of time as my brand new ordered at the same time, Lodge cast iron grill pan. It did not get even close to hot enought to leave a single line on the bread😲. Part of my reason for getting it was to be able to sorta cheat and grill both sides of the sandwich at once. The worst part of it.. and this is totally my fault.. I must not have paid emough attention to sizes.. it only fits sideways in the grill pan. It is larger than the skillet otherwise. So you need to grill your sandwich sideways in the direction that leaves you using your spatula in the opposite direction of the “grates/ridges” of the skillet. This is not fun. So.. it works perfect as a press, has just the right amount of weight to it, and if all you want is a flat press that does not leave grill marks on your food, and are planning on using it with a larger skillet than the lodge grill skillet sold here on Amazon.. you’ll love it. If you are planning on using it on a grill... not sure if the handle is built for that.

very happy with the results
Meet my expectations, very happy with the results. Good weight, good price. So far, I used on grilled chicken Breast meat. Before, it will take 3 min each side. With using the press, it reduces to 1.5 to 2 min each side. The heat is more evenly on meat. You really do not need expensive grill press. This one works great!

Husband loves it
My husband asked for this for Christmas and he was very happy to cook thin burgers. He had been trying but they never turned out how he wanted untill now. I am happy because when he cooks burgers I get a night off cooking. This is a win win for me and worth every penny!

Important "wannebe" chef tool
I bought this to help hold down the sausages . It works excellently. Just enough weight to keep things down. A little on the large side . But it can cover most of a sandwich. A great new tool in my kitchen. The wood on the handle allows me to not get burned when I pick it up.

Does the trick!
This is working out really well for me. Hubby doesn't like his burgers rare and, when they shrink up and get thicker in the middle they get too well done for my taste. This flattens them out nicely, saves cooking time because they aren't so thick any more, and if I want mine more rare, just don't put it on my burger after I flip them! Good price, also.

GREAT CABBAGE PRESS FOR MAKING KRAUT!!!!!!
This is fantastic for pressing cabbage to make pickled kraut. It fit the plastic tub perfect and laying body weight on the cabbage and working across until it is all pressed every 20 minutes for 2 hours makes all the juice needed to get those jars filled with cut cabbage and its own juice for the perfect pickled kraut. It could probably be used for other purposes but that's what I bought mine to do and it does it GREAT!!! Yes, I rinse the salt/cabbage juice off good after using and hand dry it to keep it from rusting.

Awesome Gadget
Never had 1 before and pleasantly surprised. Really heavy, but surprisingly does not squash grill cheese. Cooks bacon perfectly and cuts grease splattering by A LOT. Why have I never had 1 before? Crazy right?!?! Ordering for my daughters! Not sure what else to use it on, excited to find out. OH, put thru dishwasher, no dry heat. No issues.

The grilling accessory that gives me an extra hand.
This was the perfect addition to my camping and grilling gear. Is very easy to clean, very sturdy, and cuts my grilling time trapping the juices on my steaks, chicken and burgers. I like the fact that is a little heavy and if I keep it hot it leves grilling marks to my meat.

Hot, pressed sandwiches for life!
Bought this for my significant other for Valentine’s and we absolutely love it! Great for grilled cheeses and steak nights. The product weighs a decent amount and has no problem pressing sandwich after sandwich. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for something like this, but has no idea what they are buying and think this might be it... either way the thing has been useful! :)
