I bought this mainly for the dustpan. I have a wonky, painful hip, and I realized that my regular dustpan had become an instrument of torture because bending over is so difficult. This set took care of that quite nicely, and I liked it as soon as I started using it. The broom is surprisingly effective as well, and the whole thing collapses for easy storage. Debris doesn't fall out of the dustpan, either. It got the acid test the day it arrived when I broke a glass in my kitchen. I'd recommend it to anyone with a similar disability.

The quality of this product was a great surprise. It comes packed in five total pieces and took all of two minutes to assemble. The handles of both the dust pan, and broom click together, and the dust pan snaps into the handle with ease. This is a very handy design, and I've found myself sweeping up far more than I ever have as a bachelor. I'm 6'-0" tall, and the handles are plenty long for me to sweep up without bending over. I see this product lasting many years of light to moderate use in my home.

I purchased this broom for outside use. I wanted something compact enough to fit in our exterior storage bin and sturdy enough to sweep on concrete. The broom serves our needs perfectly. Like that it's black in color. Other bright colored brooms look so grimy after a short time. Love that it has a dust pan that has its own handle. Love that the whole thing stands in its own. Very happy with the purchase. Other reviewers complain about the stuff bristles. They are stiff, which is best for outside use.

I bought this to replace an old dustpan I had been using for about 10 years. I have hardwood floors throughout my home so a stand up pan is a necessity. So when my old pan broke from the plastic getting brittle I was crushed. After reading reviews I decided to try this one out. It's definitely heavier than my old one and it's more like rubber than plastic but I like it and it performs well. I still prefer sweeping with a full size broom rather than the mini broom it comes with. It came in a small box and you need to assemble it but that didn't take long and wasn't difficult to figure out even though there were no directions included. I think I'll get many years out of this new dustpan.

I'm in a wheelchair and it is difficult to bend down to use a regular dustpan. This really fits the bill. It is the perfect height and the broom has 2 places to attach the handle. One straight and the other at a slight angle. The angle position works great for me. The bottom of the dust bin is flat and straight and seals nicely against the floor so all the dust goes in the pan and there are no annoying 'crumbs' left on the floor. I was worried when I first saw the broom that it would not sweep 'fine' dust, but it does very well. Bottom line, this works for me!

Dustpan seems pretty sturdy and the edge is flat and part of the bottom of the dustpan, there is no rubber blade that some of the dustpans have. I had one of the other pans that had the rubber edge and after a while they get damaged or fall off. This front edge slope is very shallow so it literally left no dust. You know how you have to keep sliding the dustpan back because the edge ultimately catches some dirt and it leaves a line of dirt. I found this not to have that issue, maybe its the all one piece,or the low slope angle or both but very impressed with the ability of dust and dirt to make it in the pan without that inevitable line if dust that seems to remain.. I first seen the broom had a center hole and one offset. After installing the pole in the offset hole I quickly realized what an ingenious idea. Because this is a sweeping dust broom the natural sweeping motion is not having the handle straight up and down but on an angle. For the complaints that the handle is too short, first one can go buy ANY painters extension pole and problem solved, but the reality is this broom isn't specifically made for sweeping an entire room or garage floor as you would use a typical broom, its generally more for spot sweeping. Personally for sweeping my living rooms wood floor I like to use my rubber bristle broom to put dust, pet hair into a pile. I then use this broom and sweep it into the pan. Only because the sweeping motion of the rubber bristle broom is awkward to sweep into a dustpan, so this little broom does just what I need it for. If you are looking for a broom to sweep a entire room or garage floor look elsewhere, or get a longer extension. The handle for the dustpan has a sturdy catch that will keep it upright and a clip that the dust broom can snap into. There is also a serrated edge on the top of the dustpan that allows you to scrape the broom clean as well.

Can't believe it took me so long to order one of these. House cleaning is hard on my back and knees, and this dust pan almost makes sweeping the floors a pleasure. A big concern with dust pans is that many leave a line of dust that doesn't go easily into the pan. This one does not do that- it accepts all the dust with one or two passes. I don't care for the small broom that comes with it- too short, too heavy and the bristles are too stiff. I just use my regular broom and it works perfectly with the pan. The pan stays upright in locked position, and snaps closed for storage. The screw in handle has a tendancy to swivel when you go to dump the pan, but that's a minor aggravation. Could glue it in place if it becomes an issue. The pan is enclosed, which prevents hairballs from wafting away enroute to the trash bin, and you can sweep an entire house and only have to empty the pan once when finished. I'm very pleased with this product.

I love this broom & dustpan. When you sweep dust in the pan it leaves no dirt or dust line. The handle for the dustpan has a sturdy catch that will keep it upright and a clip that the dust broom can snap into. There is also a serrated edge on the top of the dustpan that allows you to scrape the broom clean as well. The quality is great and well made. I really don't understand a lot of the negative comments???!!! Too Short? The title and description plainly states it is 3 feet....that is the readers fault...not the broom nor the dustpan. Too Heavy? It is a great quality product. Would you rather have a lightweight plastic that might break during use? No Instructions Included? If you need instructions to put this together.....well I won't say what I am thinking....but I will say......It's not rocket science people! Just because you did not read the description correctly, why do you blame it on the broom and dustpan? That is not a fair review for the product. For the quality and price......you cannot beat it. Guess it all goes back to the old saying "She/He Wouldn't Be Happy If You Hung Them With A New Rope"!! ;-)

Handles come in two pieces which fit together perfectly fine for me once I realized what went where. This rests perfectly against the floor and it's very easy to sweep dirt and debris in with little to no dirt line left behind. Not sure why so many other reviewers are having issues with this unless they just received defective parts, or maybe there's a bit of a learning curve with this perhaps? I used these back when I was young'n working at a movie theatre and it's just the same as it was back then. This dustpan is very sturdily built and nice and heavy so it doesn't pick up easy to let dirt under it when sweeping stuff into the bin and you don't have to put extra pressure to hold it down like you do regular dustpans. It's a great feature, and the bin has a lip on it that makes it easy to tilt into the garbage can without having to touch the bottom that was just on the floor. Bonus! If you have bad lower back or balance issues and can't bend over to far to use a regular dustpan, this one is fantastic. The nice thing is that the tab does catch and helps keep the handle straight so it doesn't fall or move or get in the way while sweeping dirt in. To unlatch it just step on the dustbin to keep it from moving, and bend the stick out again and it just snaps right back out; it's quite simple. Also, the broom itself has two slots where you can insert the handle; one straight up and one at an angle to accommodate your preference. Contrary to some of the other reviews, you really can store the broom right in the bin - you just move the stick aside to get the hook part out of the way and pop it in. There's even a nice clip that holds the handles together, and they stand up nice and straight because the bottom of the bin is nice and flat. And if you're careful putting the broom in and don't get all the bristles caught to where they bend back and aren't sweeping sideways, it won't bow out on you either. How it behaves honestly just depends on how you treat it, - it's just like any other broom of this type. The only con is that the bristles want to hang on to any kind of fuzz like mad, and while it has some slots on the bin holder to help, I don't find that it works very well for me. But, since this is pretty much the same for all brooms of this type and a few plastic rungs aren't really a fair match for pet fur, it's not worth knocking off a star.

I’m not very tall but still don’t get why some of these giants on here find such great difficulty sweeping a floor. And other sets I’ve bought have been the same exact size. Unless you are disabled, a little bending shouldn’t be an issue. I have tiled slate floors downstairs, so yeah, the unevenness of the stone will allow a bit of stuff to go under the container. Obviously it works better on totally flat surfaces. Anyway, easy to put together, don’t plan in dissassembling it to store it but, for someone with a small amount of storage areas I guess that can be a plus. And really, if want it longer, buy a painters rod or mop handle, just make sure it will fit. It’s inexpensive for both pieces so I consider a good deal.
