So far so good. When I first mounted this to my ancient Marlin Glenfield Model 20 22LR it was mounted too far forward due to the nature of the scope rail on that rifle and my shooting was worse than with the scope it replaced because I couldn't see through / focus because it was for a fixed longer range. To fix that I bought the Cantilever rings SNIPER® Airgun .22 Bi-directional Cantilever Scope Mount and got the scope into my vision where it should be (although the rings needed their own mods). I then tried out a few types of 22lr and discovered which ones the rifle liked best and proceeded to cruise through the Distinguished Expert targets for the NRA smallbore rifle qualifications. The lighted reticle is great for my old eyes and being able to dial in the Parallax for close in shooting was the whole reason for buying this. It works great and has improved my shooting greatly. I can see my shots through the scope now, I had to use binoculars to see my hits before that. Only time will tell how well it holds zero as every time I have taken it to the range (only 3 times, but over 300 rounds) I have made some gun changes and had to fiddle with the windage and elevation a little bit, but then it held it the whole rest of the shoot. My only con is that the lights don't turn off by themselves after time and I keep forgetting to turn them off. Not used to that new-fangled stuff. The photo is my shoot a few days ago, my first perfect score. And with a 40 year old rifle that probably cost $36 at Penny's.

This scope, which I installed on my Ruger 10/22 Takedown using a UTG Tactical Low Profile Rail Mount for Ruger 10/22 Rifle (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002GNYCJ4/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I2VWBNK9AGZM28&colid=4153IGRSVD2C), is exactly what I was looking for when I searched for an optic for my rifle. It includes an Adjustable Objective that, in my opinion, is a must have feature. It also includes a lighted, mil-dot reticle, both of which I want in any of my scopes. Finally, it comes with Quick Disconnect scope rings that allow me to remove and reinstall the scope without needing to re-zero the scope. As a bonus, the length of the scope and the selected mounting configuration allow the disassembled rifle to be placed in its storage/carry case without removing the scope.

Wow! This scope is VERY nice! It looks great on my carbine & the image is a lot easier to acquire than I was expecting. I was pretty worried that I would be spending too much time trying to find the target while in a hurry due to what I imagined was going to be a too small of a area or viewing portal to see through while trying to quickly acquire the target But, that concern is so totally gone. The viewing portal is a good bit larger than I was anticipating. And, that means that the target is very quickly acquired because the sight picture regarding this scope pretty much just dominates & forces a good clear image onto the eye. The crosshairs are not too thick & do not hide any target that is out to 100 meters. Buying this scope verifies that I'm no idiot. Everything about this scope is excellent quality. I'd buy this scope again w/o hesitation. I looked @ hundreds of scopes in this price range before selecting this one. It is everything I was looking for in a rifle scope.

nice compact solution for casual shooter. Fit well on my Ruger AR556, clear image at all magnification levels. July 29 2016 update: Zeroing was easy, 3-4 three shot groups and the center of the target was a hole. The color reticle helps out a great deal. The red is blurry to me but the green is sharp, crisp great option. I have astigmatism that may or may not be the cause of red issue. Once I locked the adjustments down the scope held zero after a day of shooting. Time will tell but I'm about as happy as you can get. I had to contact leapers about missing items from package and they had it to me in about 5 days. I have a utg compact 3-12 on my 308 love it as well. Both are clear crisp sharp image through scope at all magnification levels. The 3x is great for closer ranges, 9x 100-200 yards. This is not an Aim Point or ACOG, but neither is the price. Update 02/08/2017 Bought a 2nd for my ras47, great for my eyes. Nice size, clear, great budget scope for recreational weekly shooter/hunter. Well made, rugged, good "bang" for buck. Pun intended. 30 Nov 18 Still happy with all scopes as mentioned for ar15 and ak47 type rifles. Please note I live in SW Ohio so 200 yards is about it for distance, I only have access to range with 200 yard pit. Literally 1000’s of rounds still holding zero.

I purchased the 3-9x40 bug buster and a replacement of the scope that was on my Gammo cf-30. With the use of an offset 1 piece mount I was able to get the proper eye relief that I needed. Without the offset mount you have to lean in to fat to shoot with any comfort what so ever. I am pleasantly surprised at how accurate the gun/scope combo is. I am using RWS meisterkugeln 8.2 grain pellets and can put 5 shots in a dime at 33 ft in my basement. For pest suppression this combo rocks! One shot.... lights out. I also like the lighted reticle. I find the side reostat control is easer to use then the ez tap. This is a fine budget scope you won’t cry when it craps the bed. My only complaint is where it’s made. In my book the performance out weights country of origin. The vendor shipped lightning fast and the scope was well protected. I would recommend and purchase this scope and other UTG products again.

I have this scope mounted on my AK - 47. I was torn between this and the 4-12x44 UTG scope but went with this for weight reasons, although the other scope may be in my future at some point. I have a UTG scope already, albeit on an air rifle, that I am very pleased with. So going off of the reviews here and personal experience, I knew this would be going on my AK. For 75 bucks, you can't go wrong. This has big, easy to turn windage and elevation turrets that don't require a coin to turn. It also has parallax adjust that I think is nice at this price point. If you are wondering what that is, google it as it's fairly interesting. The scope feels solid and is of good quality like other UTG scopes, in my opinion. There is an adjustment knob on the left side to turn on/off, and brighten and dim the illuminated red and green reticle if one chooses to use that feature. I can say from experience that this is nice in low light conditions. Included are two removable lens covers with flip up caps, two batteries for the light up feature and an extended metal sunshade with male threads that screws into the female threads on the objective lens housing. The quick release rings that come with the scope are nice too. They appear to have a good grip on the picatinny rail on my rifle. To sum up, I think this is a good and inexpensive scope and ring package. I feel this is more than adequate for my AK, I do like more magnification, but at the end of the day I'm not shooting a sniper rifle out to 1500 meters either. Anyone getting this scope will be pleasantly surprised.

This is an excellent little optic. The adjustable illumination is a really nice feature, and the Mil-Dots are also great. The scope came with a little card that explains how to measure your distance using the Mil-Dots, but good luck trying to read it. The print is ridiculously small. What I did was took a picture of the card with my phone, and I'm able to blow it up and read the numbers easily. UTG also offers this same card as a .PDF file on their website, which actually is a blessing. I was able to print the card off to a readable size onto card stock (5x7 is perfect, for what it's worth) and laminated it. The scope did not have the rings pre-mounted, which isn't a big deal. I used my pool table which I knew was 100% level and mounted the rings. The QD system on the mounts work as they should, but in my eyes didn't have quite the amount of tension that I was wanting, so once I got the scope locked down onto my AR, I gave the hex screws a little nudge with my allen wrench. Problem solved. The rifle I mounted this to is a DPMS Oracle, and I set it up on my shooting rest. I zoomed the scope in to about 6x and without any type of adjustment on the turret, I fired a shot at a 9 inch paper plate at exactly 75 yards. I was truly impressed to see that I was only about an inch low, and maybe a half inch to the left on the very first shot. After about six shots and a few turret adjustments, I was stacking holes. Now, time to see if it holds zero after serious abuse. I zoomed in all the way to 9x, and lined up on a clean plate. I proceeded to do three 30-round mag dumps. I wasn't necessarily aiming dead center on the paper plate, I just wanted to keep in the general vicinity. After having a soda and letting the barrel cool, I lined up on another 9 inch paper plate still zoomed in at 9x, I took my time on the rest and proceeded to stack holes at 75 yards. I was able to achieve less than a 30 round group in less than 2 inches. The only real setback to this scope that I have found is the eye relief to be considerably short. It took me a while to get the optic set just right on the rail, but once I found that "sweet spot", it was good to go. I just felt a little awkward being up so close to it. I got used to it after a few shots. All in all, this is an excellent scope in the sub-$100 market. I like it so much, I just ordered a second for my Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22. Highly recommended.

Have this mounted atop my factory bushmaster .223, no mods at all on this weapon. This replaces a worthless red dot, hated that thing with a passion. Took it to the range last week, zeroed at 50 yds and put out 10, 4.5" clays. Hit them 15 times of 15 shots, so you know by the end I was shooting at tiny pieces left from the first shots. This at 50 yards. However I went back yesterday to try it out longer range. Started with 100 yds, only change needed was 1 mil left. Skipped 200 and went to 300. So here's where the fun began. I had NO dope on this scope and my guesses at mils needed were based upon my dope from my .308 based in MOA. This being a MUCH lighter round I was using an "educated" guess at what I needed. What round you ask? Monarch 55 grain off the shelf from Academy Sports at $7/box. So, I allowed myself 5 shots to get on target, then 5 shots to test repeat ability. Surprisingly my guesses were all VERY close, the only one off was actually 300 yds. I started at 4.5 mils and came back down to 4.1. 400 and 500 I hit on the money first shot out. Well, I must say I was impressed, not at my guesses but at the scope. I shot at 300, 400, and 500 yards. At 300 and 400 I hit 5 of 5. At 500 I hit 3 of 5, I missed the first 2 just high right and left. My fault, nothing else. The last 3 had the 10" gong swinging in the wind. At 300 I went up 4.1 mils, at 400 up 8 mils, at 500 up 13 mils with more left in the scope. Took me less than 30 minutes to shoot all 3 distances. That's all based off the 50 yd zero, and still only 1 mil left at all those ranges with the cheapest .223 ammo you can get off the shelf. I used to hate shooting this rifle, the red dot was a royal PITA. Couldn't hit a clay at 50 yds to save ur tookus! Now it's almost impossible to miss! It's also a whole lot cheaper to shoot than my .308, but that will still be used for the 1000 yards shots.....maybe. I'm gonna have to give it a go, I just have to now.Tho seeing that target at 500 was tough, not sure if I'll be able to see it at 1000. Eye relief at 3 power is awesome, gets a bit tight at 9, but collapsing the stock about 1/2 way gets you right in there consistently. No tighter than my 6-24 at full power tho. Only thing I have yet to check is to set it back to my 50 yd zero and get after some more clays. I'm guessing it will be perfect. So, bottom line is I love this scope! for the price you absolutely can't beat it. Kinda like the $139 6-24x44 I have atop my .308 that reaches out to 1000 yds consistently. You don't have to spend a fortune to get there. I shoot 1000 yds with an $800 off the shelf setup, including the glass! $800 total cost, NO mods done to the rifle other than changing the scope base from 0 to 20 moa, and adding a $17 muzzle break. It can be done, I'm proof. My Bushmaster .223 cost more than my entire 1000 yd .308 setup! But now it's a bad a$$ 500+ yd shooter. Mikey likey!

I am very happy with this scope. It didn't cost a whole lot but it is very well made, easy to operate, and it has a lot of helpful options. Have had it out to the range twice now. Have had no quality or breakage issues with it that some of the other buyers have mentioned. I am not very experienced using optics of any type on rifles. Even with my relative lack of experience I was able to zero this in at 50 yards and then do fairly well out to 100 yards on an AK47. I've put over 200 rounds through the rifle since I installed this scope on it. I have seen no problems with it handling the recoil from 7.62x39. I struggled a little bit with cheek weld and how the scope was mounted on my rifle. I have since changed out the scope rings and brought it closer to my eye. Plan on taking it out again and see if I'm better at 100 yards with the new mount set up.

First off, due to the popularity of this scope, there are cheap clones out there for less. AVOID THEM! Many of the reviews you may read here where the battery cover falls off or the reticle is canted, etc. may be related to the buyer unknowingly getting one of these cheap clones. I have used mine extensively for over a year now and am continued to be amazed at the performance of this optic. Price aside, this scope has been almost flawless mounted on a AK47, and has now passed 1500 rounds. This gun is used primarily for hog hunting and control on our ranch and gets abused just like any other ranch tool. I expect it to provide first shot accuracy every time and it has consistently delivered. The gun gets used by me as well as the hands and by every guest to the ranch. The scope has been praised by every person that has used the gun, including some very impressive professional shooters, hunters, and military personnel. One ex-military sniper who is by far the most knowledgeable person I know about guns and optics as well as the best shot I have ever seen, actually refused to believe that this scope was a UTG for under $100. He claimed it was the first time he actually enjoyed shooting an AK, which was fine with me as I got to hunt with his custom Colt AR. It is also important that you take the time to set up this scope properly as you would with any scope. The scope needs to be mounted carefully in the right spot on the gun and securely or else you will have view/parallax problems. Get some help with this if you are not sure how this needs to be done. Positives: Compact - light weight Outstanding optics - nothing comes close for less than $1000 Excellent battery life - original battery still going strong Durable - we use guns as tools and it has held up well Reliable - holds adjustments over time Easily adjustable - positive adjustments Negatives: Crosshairs get fuzzy at high intensity settings In summary, buy this from a reputable source and install it properly and you should be delighted with this scope.
