I was determined that if I am going to own an SUP, I must be able to load and unload on top of my Hummer H3 by myself. Before the Inno, I used to have to spend so much time trying to tie it down to roof racks, going back and forth from side to side. The Hummer H3 is a rather high SUV, so trying to tie it down was hard, in the hot, Virgin Islands sun! Not only is the Inno so easy to use, I even installed it myself to the factory roof racks! I did have to watch the installation video a few times, after opening the parts box. The days of going back and forth are over. I can lasso the hook arm (looks like a windshield wiper) on one or two attempts and tighten it down with a few cranks and lock it. It is so easy, it kind of makes you look like a show off, while others are struggling to secure their SUP!

I was looking for these in a store on Oahu and they didn't have any left in stock...has to be good, right? These rack attachments/board locks are pretty amazing if I say so myself! Not only are they easy to install/uninstall, they are impossible to do so without the keys! The black plastic boxes at each end hold a quick release which is secured under the tension of the cable with a little lever. It is also pretty easy to load longboards, etc because the roller pads roll (even on the rectangular thule bar) so you can load your board from the front or back of the car. No more crazy lifts of your old school noserider with heavy glass! The cables also release so it makes it even easier. As far as security goes, the cables are easy enough to cut with wire cutters. What kind of theif walks around with wire cutters? A good security move if you're in a fairly well travelled area, but in no way is it preparred for the sketchy part of town. I'd buy them again.

I am currently using this on a Thule Rapid Bar system and I totally love this thing. They use a lockable quick-release fastener/bolt so you can take off when you're not transporting. This unit has an overall user friendly construction to it. I never really read the instructions but I found everything straight forward--loosen this, snap on that, etc. One thing one person complained about is that one side of the locking mechanism doesn't lock. After my paddle board was properly fastened down, I tried to undo the side without the lock and could not pry the flap open that covers/secures the quick release. It seems that when the securing cables are tensions, it triggers a lock on the other side that prevents it from being open. I've tried tensioned and untensioned and it is consistent. It's not 100% theft proof, but it does keep honest people honest. If someone had a pair of pliers, they could turn the securing nuts I suppose, but that would require time and isolation. I feel secure with this rack to go in and have lunch and not worry. **Disclaimer: I've only used it 3 times as of this review. will update as use progresses

I bought this for my daughter who bought a paddle board. She strapped the board with ratchet tie downs to her Jeep Renegade and it wasn’t just difficult and cumbersome but looked unsafe. I ordered this rack and it has made a world of difference. She’s only 5’ and she can load and unload her board with no issues. I highly recommend this product.

6 year ownership review: truly outstanding product. Used to attach 2 SUPs (standup paddle boards) to 3 different cars. Has lived on a roof (garages vehicle) for 6+ years. This mount is brilliant; it’s a highly versatile design with excellent build quality. Besides SUPs we’ve also carried lumber. I did upgrade the cross bar pads for larger foam squares.

Initial set up takes about 20 minutes to put rubberized stickers on the attachment points and then mount it on the bars. It did fine on the 2007 dodge caravan I put it on. Once on it is very user friendly for getting a kayak or board on. I used it with a Malibu mini-x which is very wide and deep. Get everything tightened up though and it really locks it in place. The ratcheting system is awesome for how quickly it hooks together and cinches down tight. I am anal so I threw on a standard cinch steal as well, but over a 430 mile round trip the yak stayed locked down tight. I have a SUP I plan on using it for and because it is less deep and wide than the yak, I anticipate it will actually work better. Update: Used it on the same 430 trip with a 12'6" SUP. Worked fantastic.

I did a lot of research on SUP racks for cars, and this setup had by far the best overall reviews. I've had mine for a year now and would buy again in a heartbeat. They do take up a decent amount of horizontal rack space, so if you have a narrow roof rack and wide board you might run into issues. If irc, subtract about 9inches from your available bar length due to this setup. I have a 28in board, and was pushing it on my bmws X3, but it fits like a glove. Once installed, its dead simple and pretty slick to use. You won't be disappointed!

So easy to install and soooooo easy to throw my kayak on top of my Jeep. Just throw it on top, roll it into place, and snap it down. It's that easy. Durable and extremely easy to use. I highly recommend.

This rack attachment is excellent. Period. We use this rack primarily to carry several SUP's at a time, including 14' race boards and 9 to 10 foot surf SUP's. We have loaded up to three boards on the rack. The rack attachment is quick and easy to mount and simple to use. It provides a secure carrier for surf boards, several SUP's or even a Kayak. While the cable system is great for being very low stretch and providing some level of theft security, any thief with wire cutters could unload your quiver pretty quickly so don't expect total security. Still, it's nice to have a locking system when you run into a store or place to eat or when parked in a campground. Boards mount into the carrier quickly and without any drama. The rack secures in seconds. It is just slick! For driving, the rack is really secure - keep in mind that you have to use it properly to have secure transport but this is simple to do. With regular surfboards, care should be taken not to overtighten the cables, as you could easily dent or even crush a light board. The only way the rack could be improved, in my opinion, is if the cables were more theft resistant. Great carrier.

These are the best surfboard racks I have ever purchased in my 30 years of surfing. From safari racks to thule to yakima and now inno. Super easy to install on factory aero cross bars. Also easy to take off and re-attach. Love the cable system with locks to lock board if leaving car for a while. Highly recommend the Inno rack system.
