I bought one first, just to make sure it actually was quiet since I have a history of loud fans and it's not intrusive at all. I'm using two of these to blow at the radiator for my Corsair water cooling system and it's been working very well for a few months now. There hasn't been any rattling noises, just the noise of air being blown. The reason why I even replaced my old fans was due to the noise and it could be loudly picked up by my microphone, but these ones are very quiet and people can't hear it when you're chatting. It also helps to lower the gain, but that's something else. They're nicely built, with rubber along the sides of each corner to reduce vibration and fit snuggly against my radiator. It comes with fan splitter wires (Y-cable) and extension cables which were useful because these were actually longer and more durable looking than the ones I bought previously. They also come with these rubber nail looking things which I'm assuming is used for some specific backing but none of the ends would fit into the fan and I couldn't figure out how to use them. The instructions are very minimalist and if you know what you're doing it makes sense. Otherwise, the stuff for the nails? No idea.

They perform at least as well as my H100i's stock fans, and are significantly quieter. Expensive, but quality is great, and they're effective. Noctua hasn't let me down yet. You could say I'm... a fan.

These are simply the best fans I have ever owned. I have an i5 7600k cooled via the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO and simply replacing Cooler Master's 120mm with this Noctua 120mm brought my temps down an entire degree celsius. The fan is extremely quiet and the build quality is top notch. I really love how high quality the cable feels and the extra attachments they give you in the box (e.g. extension, splitter, etc.) are great. As far as opinion, some don't like the brown and creme color scheme but I actually like it, lol. The fan has a certain utilitarian look to it that lends it a certain appeal lost in those laser light show or standard black fans. In the end these fans are pretty expensive with each costing as much as four or five times that of standard 120mm, but considering how important cooling is to a computer I do believe the added cost very much worth it. You can buy these with the utmost confidence.

Huge difference from the regular fans. Almost whisper quiet under most loads. Noticeable but still fairly faint sound under heavy load when running games or CPU intensive programs. I have an H100i cooler attached and when the stock Corsair fans start spinning they sound like a bunch of jet engines. Seems like the airflow is better since my casual and idle load temps are around 35-40 °C at a room temp of 77°C. I really appreciate that they added extra cables like a 2-to-1 Fan Splitter and an extension cable as well as a Low Noise Adapter that limits the fan's max RPM for an even more quiet operation. Only downside is that the fan doesn't exactly have an appealing look for most people but I suppose it's part of the Noctua branding. They're not pretty but they sure do work. Great product that comes with actually useful accessories.

I purchased this to replace the craptastic stock fan that came with the Corsair Hydro 55 ""QUIET"" edition that turned my brand new computer build into a NHRA dragster in terms of speed and noise. You know it's bad when your wife comes in and asks why I decided to make a server instead of a computer for home use. So, in other words, the fan wasn't very quiet and I needed something to save the day. After poking around on the internet, a tech geek site forum section mentioned that this was a very good fan to replace very loud fans. That seemed to fit my bill so I bought it here because it was $15 less than the site they recommended to buy it from. So I swung for the fences and purchased this fan that did not match my build's color scheme at all. After reviewing my own fashion sense.... or lack thereof.... I figured it would fit nicely in it's new home. I received it mere hours prior to writing this review and the results were fantastic enough to make me write this before more awesomeness destroys my household and the rainbows and puppy-dogs displace all breathable oxygen around my living area where my computer now resides.... in silence. This fan is seriously quiet. I can barely hear it run at all. My computer resides in the living room where it will be turned into a one-stop-entertainment shop so quiet running is a must. It now makes my computer run quieter than my PS2, PS3 and quite possibly my PS4 which is odd to me. This fan is easily installed and comes with tabs to attach to the back of the case without tools. It's nice that the manufacturers threw in a two extension cords and a Y-bridge so you can hook more fans together, but be warned that all sound will be sucked out of the room because of how quiet these fans run. This fan is a great value at $20 and will make your computer exponentially silent. Buy it now.

So, these were bought to replace the stock cooling fans on a Corsair H100i radiator. I've had the build for a couple of years but always kept the PC in the spare room and noise wasn't an issue. I also had a case where the radiator mounted vertically across the back. I recently changed to a new case where it's top mounted and brought the thing into the living room. The stock fans are a bit noisy to begin with, but by top mounting it, the bearings made some odd humming sounds that just annoyed me to no end. The fans could get rather noticeable on more CPU intensive tasks as well (Core I7 4970K for reference.) Insert Noctura. These fans are simply stunning from the over the top professional packaging to the included extras. You get an extension cable, a low noise adapter cable, rubber mounts if you don't use screws, and screws if you do. It's worth noting that both fans do have the low noise adapter installed and are running about ~1200 RPM give or take. Absolute silence. Nothing to hear whatsoever. The F12 is designed for static pressure and in turn it's at home on a radiator. My observed temps have stayed the same within margin of room temperature fluctuations and never once have I heard them. Also of note, on stock fans the H100i sounds like a jet taking off on startup. It's brief but it roars when you come out of standby or power up. Not with these. You will not regret buying these fans.

Very good quality. I like that these come with the the splitter and extra parts. Having had a sleeve bearing gunk up and brick a power supply these sealed bearing fans with the accessories are ABSOLUTELY worth the extra money. Think of it like this, YES you can save $5 to $8 and get something else but then you might need the splitter which will cost a few more $ anyway. Fans are always an afterthought but after having stuff burn up because of terrible fans (like I did) you'll be willing to spend the extra cash on the fan. If you'll buy a $300 mobo, $400 graphics card and $200 in RAM why not spend the extra $10 on a good fan? The quality really might not be there but you'll save money. Personally, I get these not for their looks (because they are super ugly) I get them for performance and reliability. For me, a casual gamer; they're performing as good as I could expect. Low noise and low temps. I would buy them again. iI fact I did, I've replaced all my fans with them!

Used this as a replacement fan for the stock fan that came with my Cooler Master Evo Hyper 212. It took some doing to get the rails off the stock fan, and I had to skip the rubber pegs that came with the Noctua and just use screws, but afterward? Dead. Silent. I had to actually look at the fan to ensure it was on and spinning. I could barely hear it if I pressed my ear against the case. CPU temps? Everything's cool as a cucumber. Yeah, they don't match the black aesthetic of my case, but if you want a silent, quality fan, this is the one you want. Keep in mind, though, that this is best as a radiator/heatsink fan rather than a standard case fan. If you want something blowing air out the back of your case, take a gander at the NF-S12A (also a fantastic product).

All I can say is Wow! I'm totally "blown away" by these fans. I'm ashamed to say that I have been building computers for about 25 years, and I never paid extra to get a better fan, always just using what came with the CPU heatsink, case, or those all-in-one water cooling units (Corsair / Thermaltake). I just replaced the Thermaltake fans on my radiator and case, and pulled out my video card (using the built in Intel trash for testing) to hear the fans by themselves. At first I couldn't hear them at all. I had to turn off another nearby computer so I could actually here these. I tested it again by running Prime95 for just over an hour on an older i7-2600K overclocked to 4.2Ghz. The temps never got above 65C but the fans did get a little louder, yet not as loud as my other fans (at idle!). When I turned off Prime95, the temps returned to 40C which is my typical idle temp and the fans got really quite almost immediately after the load was removed. I have my motherboard set to control the speed of the fans using PWM. My PSU already has a very quiet PWM controlled fan in it. This computer is so quiet now. I'm going to buy more of these in the future.

I purchased this to replace the fan for my Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan (RR-212E-20PK-R2). This is the second Cooler Master fan to fail in less than 2 years and I figured instead of replacing the whole cooler again just replace the fan with a different model in the hopes that it will not fail so quickly again. The fan is pricey w/ respect to getting the entire cooler, the cooler (which includes the fan) was only $35 the last time I bought it, but if this lasts longer then it will be worth it. I have only had this one just under 3 weeks but so far so good. Fingers crossed...
