As another reviewer commented, I initially thought the quality was less than the same potholders I purchased a year ago, specifically appearing to have a looser weave. I realized I was comparing a new one to a washed one. I washed the new potholders, and they are identical to the one I purchased a year ago. The terry cloth weave is dense and you cannot see the binding AFTER you wash it. I would purchase again, but watch the prices. Popular color prices jump all over the place.

My mother has a strange affinity for hot pads that have no rubber and aren’t hand-shaped. She loves these. They’re a larger size than normal square hot pads, which is a nice touch. They are thick and hold against heat.

These work well, I haven't been burned yet. As for giftable, I think they are a really good quality but they came in a clear bag. But not a big deal for me because I would buy several items to turn into a gift basket situation. Like buying a dutch oven and filling it with smaller items inside.

I really like these. I ordered a previous brand recently and it shrunk so much. This time I gave this larger brand a try, knowing they would shrink a bit. After washing, they shrunk just the right amount, about an inch or so. I didn't dry them, since the size is perfect for me now. I love the pocket for extra protection for your hands.

I personally prefer this type of potholder over other styles and was glad to find these on Amazon for such a good price. I've washed them several times to soften them and they washed up fine. For me, this type of potholder gives me better control when lifting hot heavy pans out of the oven. They conform to the shape of the pan better than heavier bulky glove types, which gives me a better grip. I don't usually insert my hands inside the pocket unless I'm just moving a pan on the stove or counter, which is why I like to soften them in the wash for better control. I hope they last as long as my last one, which has gotten grungy looking after 20 plus yrs.

These are my favorite oven mitts. Gloves are too bulky. These are thick enough to grab hot things. But, I still like I can feel the pan shape and can lift it out of the oven with no fear of dropping it. My whole hand is protected. I bought myself a set, then for Christmas I bought more for each, my mother and sisters.

I found blue potholders like this years ago at a grocery store and loved them. I've bought several more sets of them because they ROCK! Great hot pads, and work well to throw on a counter or table to put hot pots or casseroles, on, as well. The colors stay vibrant through many washings (I have Slate, Blue, and Paprika colors). I've had some of these for over ten years and they've held up really well. On occasion with repeated washing some edging will come loose, but a few stitches and they're as good as new (and it takes years for this to happen, so don't let that scare you away!). Highly recommended!

Great basic pan holders. Nice and thick. Simple easy to use and just toss them in the washer when needed. I have tried the gloves, silicone types of different designs...etc. some designs need no improvement, and this is one of them. Will fit small to large hands. not to be used close to an open flame, they will burn.

Ritz Royale Pot Holders are the best. I'd purchased a set many, many years ago, and needed to finally buy replacements as the old ones were getting threadbare and frayed. I could not find any in local stores and was happy to find them offered for sale on Amazon. The replacements I received are just like the ones I had purchased long ago. I was happy to find they are still quality made and not cheaper made like so many things are these days. I would definitely recommend purchasing these to anyone who needs a heavy duty pot holder. They are the best.

This thick, terry-cloth potholder can be used in its two layered thickness or in its singled layered thickness when you can put your hand very easily into the pocket. It is a neat square but has the options of being used for very hot surfaces or those not so hot that allow you to put your hand into the pocket with ease and grab the item that needs protection.
