Just like the factory GM plate

This camshaft gasket plate is exactly like the factory plate that my 2001 Chevy Suburban 5.3L came with so no special countersunk screws needed, you can use the screws that you take off the old camshaft retainer plate. The red gasket on the plate is not replaceable so you'll have to buy a new plate. Worth the cost since I didn't want to take a chance of oil leaking out from this plate causing low oil pressure. The oil galleys for the lifters are connected within the red gasket area of this plate. The factory plate that came with my suburban was totally flat when I took it off. The red gasket on this new plate protrude a little to seal the two lifter oil galleys that come together at this plate. Seems to work great so far. No issues.

It’s actually black, unlike the picture

It is black, same as It came from factory. The seals are just perfect for the LS1. Plate is very strong. It doesn't come with the screws but you can reuse yours. I torqued mine to 18ft lbs. it is not countersunk - perfect for gen III LS. Very nice plate.

A must have for cam swap on a ls motor.

This cam retainer plate for ls engines also seals the oil galleries for the lifters. So if you’re doing a cam swap this needs to be replaced as well. The part is Well made and installs easy.

Perfect fit if your in to replace pump replace this also this was good value and an easy replace right behind cam sprocket
