I am happy with my purchase.
My daughter started taking an interest in pouring liquids and foods (like cereal and rice) into multiple containers. She was using whatever she could get her hands on. I started looking for something that would replace the household items she kept getting into. This was it! There are multiple sizes and colors. She now uses these for her experiments and transfers. I am happy with my purchase.

It's impressive how quickly his fine motor coordination has improved after playing with this set
My 18 month old grandson loves this. He can spend hours pouring water (or cheerios) from one container into another. It's impressive how quickly his fine motor coordination has improved after playing with this set. As he gets older, I'm sure that he will understand the relationship between the sizes of the containers and we can also do more of the activities suggested on the activity cards, although next week we are definitely doing the recipe for bubbles.

Perfect for my two-year-old who loves to pour and scoop!
I looked all over for sturdy, long-lasting cups, spoons, and/or scoops for a Christmas gift for my two-year-old daughter and when I saw this kit, I pounced! It's for 4+, but obviously that's only if you're concerned about your child actively learning about measurements and fractions (and that may come in time!). This kit has a nice variety of containers and spoons, the handles fit her hands perfectly, and now she spends almost an hour a day happily "measuring", mixing, and pouring. Her six-year-old brother shows some interest in it, too, which makes the booklet of activities a great addition. Love it!

comes with fun activity cards to challenge
Our toddler absolutely loves this mix and measure activity. It's age appropriate, comes with fun activity cards to challenge, and the pieces are surprisingly sturdy and well made. Keep lots of dish towels handy for the spillage!

Promote Creativity and Scientific Thinking for Years to Come
I bought this for my niece nearly 4 years ago (she was 3 at the time) because I wanted to expose her to science at a very young age. She LOVED it then, and today, 4 years later, she and her younger sister still play with it ALL THE TIME. At first, it was great in water tables, sand pits, etc., and today she uses it to conduct her own science experiments - some legitimate and some that are really just adult-sanctioned messes. When younger, I would perform the experiments for her, just to watch her amazement. We go through almost all of the experiments every year, and it's amazing to watch as she grasps the science more and more each time. Despite the 4 years of constant play and 100s of cycles through the dishwasher, each item is still in great shape. (Just came across this item while looking for a new science kit and figured 4 years of play certainly warrants a positive review.)

Fun and educational
I bought this for my four-year-old granddaughter who is fascinated by science and how things work. We had a blast with it. The instructions are clear and illustrate good scientific method. I could recommend buying dry beans for some of the experiments before you open the package. You will have more fun right away.

What a terrific, fun way to introduce early measuring skills to ...
What a terrific, fun way to introduce early measuring skills to our little ones! They enjoyed making the recipes that come with the set as well as measuring things in their sensory table like corn, rice, sand and water.

Smart, durable and fun pieces for imaginative and curious minds.
This is a colorful, durable set for budding scientists and imaginative minds. The pieces are cleverly designed to demonstrate several key concepts like fractions, volume and weight and aside from the scale, the increments of measure are true to life. The plastic is a thick, heavyweight, durable material with rounded edges and a solid feel (in contrast to the primary science lab set that we also own which has a thinner, flimsier plastic pieces). My preschooler and toddler play with this set regularly from measuring out sensory materials like beans, rice, water, etc to using it in pretend cooking and even in the bath. The weakest part of the set is the scale, which is not sensitive enough to really demonstrate significant differences and the use of colors as arbitrary weight measurements. The project cards included with the set are laminated and colorful with a nice addition of visual images. Suggested projects include homemade bubbles, color mixing exploration and trail mix recipe among a few others. I was happy to learn that Learning resources provides links to free additional project cards on their website. As other reviewers have pointed out, the ingredients for the projects are not included in this set.

Great for young scientists
Great teaching tool. These are brightly colored and lend themselves to imaginative and structured play. Inspire science, math, and non edible dough cooks alike! Easy to hold handles for young kids. The cards included have mini lessons that are easy to follow and require some household items: water, beans, rice, etc.
