I love these headphones!
For the price, forget it, you won't find a better buy. First of all, understand, there is no bass. And you won't find it in any headphones in this price range or lightweight design. I use these primarily for the gym, but I just bought a second pair for use with my desktop, because I sometimes want to keep the sound down at night. I've had the first pair for a couple of years now and they still work perfectly after almost continuous use and some fairly rough treatment. I plug them into the TVs on the gym equipment and there is no sign of wear or loosening of the jack and no static. I also use them with an MP3 player. Both channels are even and the stereo is very distinct when the input is stereo. These are lighter than any other 'phones I've used and adjust easily, but best of all they are very good at cancelling outside noise. I hardly ever hear the gym music at all when I have them on, and I don't think my tunes can be heard by people next to me. One note: the volume on the old pair is slightly higher than with the new pair I just got, but I suspect they new ones may have to break in a little. But in any case, both pairs have far more volume than the several other brands I've tried. The new pair also seems to fit a little tighter, and I assume that's due to wear on the older ones. Despite not having prime shipping they showed up 6 days earlier than the earliest estimated delivery date, too.

Koss Headphones great for students
These headphones are perfect for my first grade students. They are the perfect size and weight for extended wear. I have had good luck with the durability over the school year. It's hard to find a better price too!

Great for school
My child needed a pair of headphones to leave at school. I was a little worried about purchasing these because they are inexpensive, but also didn't want to buy a very expensive pair because they might get broken at school. Well, these work great! The headband is adjustable and it is comfortable on both my child's and my head. The ear pads are nice and cushiony and they sound good. They seem to be holding up at school. I would definitely buy these again. Writing reviews is a hobby for me. If this review helped you, would you please click "helpful" below? Thanks!

GREAT PRICE - GREAT CRISP CLEAR SOUND
I LOVE these headphones! I got a pair for free on a flight a few years ago, and they finally gave out. ACTUALLY THEY DIDN'T STOP WORKING, BUT THE EARPIECE AND UPPER PART WOULD DETACH AND I'D HAVE TO PUT THEM ON VERY VERY CAREFULLY WITH A FEW PIECES STICKING OUT HERE AND THERE. DEFINITELY NOT THE BEST LOOK IF YOU'RE WEARING THEM OUTSIDE EVER. This happened after I'd repeatedly thrown them in my pocketbook with about 50 other things. Definitely my fault! Anyway I sent away for a more expensive pair (about $20) from a different manufacturer, and they didn't have nearly the clear, or crisp full sound as these. I sent them back and crossed my fingers that these would be as good as my old ones, and happily they're exactly the same! I did remove the ear pads, as I had with the original ones, as I like the sound much better. Highly recommend!

Household staple
I love these. The sound quality is decent, much better than the price would indicate actually and the 3.5mm plug is secure. For whatever reason my laptop recognizes these faster than conventional earplugs and I don't have to wait to adjust the volume through Windows. Maybe it's the lack of a mic? The cable imo isn't that long. There are two versions I think, maybe the other one has a longer cable. I bought these for watching, tv and listening to background music while reading books. I don't feel the need to have anything better and have a hard time finding headphones that are this comfy with the combination of my large head, stretched ears and piercings. These are the most comfortable headphones I have ever owned and that is reason enough to own them.

Perfect for this "uncool" mom, haha!
Our teenage son always seems to somehow 'confiscate' and then proceed to break and/or lose every set of earbud-type earphones in our house, including mine that came with my iPod. So, he has now been relegated to only owning the least expensive kind I can find for him (even if that means pink ones, lol). So, after perusing Amazon, I bought these headphones for him because 1) they were so inexpensive, 2) the reviews were pretty good, and 3) did I mention they were so inexpensive? Well, when they arrived, I opened them up to check them out and make sure they worked and such. I was impressed and I really liked them. But when I gave them to my son, I quickly learned that, according to my son, over-the-head type "headphones" (as opposed to the in-ear or ear bud type) are so "80's" and "uncool looking". Was I angry at him for basically calling me "old and uncool" for liking these headphones? No way!! This was my perfect solution to keep him from "borrowing" and then losing/breaking MY headphones. Besides, I never really liked the ones that go into the ears anyhow. So now these are mine! For what it's worth, I feel neither "old" nor "uncool" while wearing them. I promise!! *They fit great, they are snug but not TOO snug. If I was into jogging and/or some other type of strenuous exercise, I don't think I would have any trouble keeping them in place on my ears/head (I swim for exercise so obviously I can't wear them for that, lol). *The quality of sound is fantastic to me - although I'm not really an "audio snob". *They are extremely adjustable on both sides although I happen to use them on the smallest setting without needing to make them any bigger. *They are lightweight, as stated in the description, but not in a 'flimsy' kind of way. I don't think they are any more or less breakable than any other kind of similar headphones (yes, I did go through many sets of headphones like these during the 1980's). Since I don't expect to be rough with them at all, I am hoping they last me quite awhile. If not, and they do somehow break, at least I wouldn't feel *too* bad only being out a few dollars. I would ABSOLUTELY order these again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for inexpensive, but nice, headphones. They are perfect for this "uncool" mom. :-) ***UPDATE*** June, 2015: Well it's been nearly two years and I've gone through about three pairs of these headphones (and I'm going to order a few more after I write this - now that they have pretty color options). Not one pair has broken yet, they just seem to get lost somehow (in our house, we joke that when things go missing it's because unicorns come and eat them). I'm glad they have color options now and I would still absolutely recommend these inexpensive, and nice, headphones.

Perfect for the Classroom
I use these in my Life Skills classroom with high schoolers with severe Autism. I bought a classroom set and they lasted the whole school year with maximum level abuse (used 2-ish hours a day, five days a week) from not-very-careful sweethearts. They all lasted until literally the last day of school before they started dying. That's all I could ask of a set of headphones!

Perfect inexpensive headphones!
My elementary-aged daughter needed a cheap set of headphones for school. Ear buds get dirty and just fall out of her tiny ears, so I went to the store in search of some over-the-ear style headphones and couldn't find any for under $20. Most were either ear buds, bluetooth and cordless, or too expensive, which is not helpful since she needs to plug a physical cord into a computer at school. As usual, I turned to Amazon and found this steal. These were only $5 and are better quality than those I saw in the big box store! They are adjustable and fit both my large head and my 5-year-old daighter's tiny head. The sound is clear and crisp, no complaints there. My daughter loves the bright color. These are a steal if you're in need of some inexpensive, old school over-the-ear hearphones with the standard 3.5 mm headphone cord and plug.

Totally adequate for the price
Absolutely perfect for just a few bucks. Ordered three of them (at the time it was an Add-On item for like 3 bucks), one has broken but so far considered as a set I think they've outlasted others that cost as much as the three pairs do. In my experience they're no more or less hi-fi than headphones 3x their price, and it takes three times longer to misplace all three of them and it takes a good deal longer to break all three of them than to break a single 15 dollar pair. FWIW I pretty much use these for listening to speech (NPR, podcasts, audiobooks), but I have also found them totally effective for occasionally rocking out privately to some nostalgic Styx tracks, whether it's Too Much Time or Babe or Sail Away.

Has that classic look with a very, very good fit, finish, and feel, without being over stated.
I had some original Sony MDR110LP from back in the 90's-00's that are now discontinued and over priced. Got them originally with my walkmans and I love the classic look, feel, and sound. This Koss KPH7 are very very close. The sound is a little more treble than warm, and the sony's were nice and warm sounding, but still light and open, but this Koss is in no way tinny sounding. Both basically work like open back headphones because the drivers are so small (they dont cover the whole ear, like larger over ear headphones), so some sound is able to travel out through the foam pads. They are not loud, even with sound on my flac player turned up to 80-85%, but i rarely need to go past that. Any more than that and you get distortion. If you are used to larger over the ear studio monitors or high end open backed headphones, this will be a step down. And in general, sound quality is average, maybe even a little less than your average sony, philips, or apple in-ear phones. But I bought it because i still prefer headphones over in-ear phones and I do prefer the comfort and open sound these give compared to any in-ear phones, whether high end or consumer - and i do have multiple pairs of in-ears from consumer bose, philips, sony, apple, to high end sennheiser. For general, casual listening, outdoors or indoors, I have a use for these, and I really like them. They are light weight, comfortable, more durable than in-ear phones, and I'm okay with sacrificing some sound quality to get more airy, open-ness. The value is amazing for the price. And if you're looking to replicate that vintage 80-90's sounding tech of portable cd players, walkman, and hand-held television/gameboys, this completely reminds me of that analog sound, maybe not the best warm, and full analog sound, but still -these are very nicely made, the materials are better than average for on-ear heaphones. They have nice clamp pressure, which can be forced looser if needed, and the pads are very very comfy. I would recommend these for what they offer, and for their price. If you just need some very comfortable on-ear phones that you can wear all day and don't want to look flashy with your over-sized over ear headphones, and know that sound will just be decent, for 7$ I'd pick these up while they are still being made. On-ear headphone of this style and size are limited, but this one has that classic look, with a very very good fit, finish, and feel, without being over stated -just a 90's kid in the modern world, rockin headband style phones and comfy foam pads.
