Djembe drum

Wow this drum is so much nicer than I could have ever hoped for. Buying online you really cannot tell how beautifully made it is but trust me- it is. I am a beginner and this is my first drum so I do not have much technical feedback, etc but it sounds great and I am really satisfied with this purchase. Great value.

it is perfect. I wanted some light and easy to carry

I have been wanting a drum this size for a monthly drum circle I have been attending. I received this drum yesterday, it is perfect. I wanted some light and easy to carry, but with a loud sound. That is exactly what this is. Since I walk to the drum circles this is the perfect size. I played it all evening after receiving it. I can not wait till the next circle on July 2nd.

Fun for Noobies and Pros at a great price.

I recently went to a slackline and yoga festival called BREATHE fest in Chicago, and while there I witnessed a structured drum circle. The instructors were very forthcoming with information, and had me wanting a djembe as soon as i left. So, not hoping for much, i pulled up a few drums on amazon, and low and behold i found a bunch. After reading the reviews, i chose to go with the Meinl due to its construction quality, and hoped for the best. After playing it for a few weeks, i really do love this drum. i just wish i bought a bigger head! the bass resonance is really great, but i was very impressed with the high slap tones once i tuned it. Overall, a great product. i would DEF recommend this to anybody, top notch products from Meinl. Cant wait to buy more djembes!

Good tone for the size

This was delivered on time and looks beautiful. The tone and range are good, especially considering the compact size and light weight of the instrument.

Great drum

Wow...I cant say enough about this drum. Great price for a great product. The size is perfect and is comfortable to hold. It is not too small and not too large either. The sound is great as well. And the way the drum looks, trust me this is quality wood and goat skin. Not the cheap at all.

A drum circle begins

My high school Spanish Club has wanted to start a drum circle for years, and this year we did it. They picked this drum from the long list of possibilities, and it's great. I don't get to play it much because they grab it first, whenever there is an opportunity. I believe it will be the basis of a bonding activity we are going to be doing for years here in Purdy, Missouri!

perfect size for travel

This drum has a beautiful sound. It also is the perfect size for travel but not too small for someone with very large hands.came in perfect condition and already tuned.

Good Beginner Djembe

Have begun going to some local drum circles and wanted an inexpensive starter drum. This one is going to work out just fine. The package was severely damaged when it arrived. I was worried, but the drum is in great shape. It came with tuning instructions and a catalog so I can shop for my upgrade when the time comes.

The Drum is in great condition and had no wear signs (other reviews noted wear signs on theirs). The drum comes with instructions on tuning, which I have not done yet. The starting condition of the drum already sounds quiet lovely. I can not wait to fully use it in drum circles soon! It is a wonderful piece to add to a beginner's collection.
