I don't know what it is about greenies, but my very picky dog seems to love these. It doesn't have a strong scent like other beef or chicken flavored treats, but he seems to love greenies even more than those. I give this 5 stars for being a dog favorite. I can't speak confidently for dental benefits however. My dog's teeth were always on the fairly good side since he was a puppy. He does get some mild tarter buildup, but not enough for us to see a clear difference whether the greenies are effective or not. We've been giving greenies to our dog once a day for several months now (we're loyal buyers just because he loves it), but his dental situation seems to be the same throughout. I guess the only thing I could say is the greenies could possibly be contributing to the fact that his tarter buildup is quite mild.

After a severe dental issue with my Italian greyhound, my vet suggested these greenies on a daily basis to help with further dental issues. My dog is 11 years old and the breed is prone to dental issues. After a year of a giving him one of these greenies every morning- his teeth are no worse for wear. When I first introduced these to my dog- he really wasn't too thrilled about them. After basically making him realize he was getting no other treat that day until he ate a greenie every morning, he very quickly started gnawing them down. Now after a year- he anxiously awaits his morning greenie and seems disappointed if I give him something else.

We have two large dogs, both 3 years old. We started them on Greenies as puppies to form a bedtime ritual. When they saw the Greenies, they knew it was bed time and they headed straight into their crates as puppies. When they were around a year old, they were responsible enough to have the run of the house while we were sleeping and the Greenies continued to be the night time ritual. Now they are three years old and just finished their vet checkups. The vet was amazed by both dog's teeth. He asked if we were brushing their teeth or having them cleaned. They have the most beautiful teeth. I buy the Greenies from Amazon Save and Subscribe because it's a better price than I can get anywhere else. Even though our dogs are 68 lbs. and 100 lbs., they both get one regular Greenie every night. I don't buy the extra large or large ones. I've no doubt that our dogs will live longer because of Greenies and they don't have bad breath!! BTW....the Golden Retriever will come to me where ever I am in the house, if it's 8PM and I haven't given them their Greenies. She won't go to bed without one. She will sit at attention, start to whine, and finally bark if I don't respond by getting it. You can set your watch by her.

I bought these for my cocker spaniel for the health of his teeth. He loves them, and they seem to be helping. I bought the regular 36 count on Dec .2 of this year for $23.79. I am reordering, but the price is now $33.99. That is a huge jump in price. I will look around for a better price next time. It is a great product, but I give him one every evening. $34.00 a month is a bit steep for me.

i used to give my GSD greenies rarely, just when she had dog breath from eating god knows what on her walk. they are expensive, and so i saw no reason to give them to her every day. but as she got older, her teeth became stained, and she rally hates it when i brush her teeth. i can do it, but it is always a struggle. so last year,i started giving her one greenie every day, and the stains have mostly disappeared from her teeth. an older dog's quality of life can be very much affected by tooth decay, so i am glad to have found that greenies work so well to clean her teeth.

Our dog loves these - he gets one a day after he finishes breakfast (and not before!). He really looks forward to these, and spends a few minutes chewing them up pretty thoroughly. It's a nice idea to think that these "brush" his teeth, but the odds that his chewing really gets these to scrub the surface of all his teeth are incredibly slim -- after all, we're talking about dogs getting a chance to scarf down a favorite food. But greenies themselves seem to be well formulated, smell ok, and would seem to be pretty effective at providing at least a rudimentary cleaning. Not sure if it's out imagination, but our dog's breath seems a bit better when we remember to give him a greenie every day. Finally: pricing fluctuates wlidly for these, depending on where you buy, and the quantity -- even on Amazon. Be sure you look at the unit price when comparing different offer on Amazon and compare carefully. I think you're likely to be surprised. All in all, we're pleased with Greenies, and will continue to purchase them from Amazon.

The only thing you need to know about this doggie dental chew aside from the fact that it is in my humble opinion the best doggie dental chew on the market , is that if they are eating it too fast, as mine used to, you might need to sit with them and teach them to chew chew chew and not chew gobble swallow. Otherwise mine used to beg us out of two or three of these a day. I used to call them doggie dope because she likes them so much. But now she has learned to slow down and chew and all is well in our house.

When I visited the home of a relative a few months ago she gave me a few of these that had been broken in half to take home to my dog. When I got home he smelled them in my pocket and started jumping around until I gave him one. When I gave it to him he started flipping it around and playing with it before eating it. He liked them so much I began buying them but I find them too pliable to break in half so I just give him one whole one each day. My dog likes other treats too but does not act like this with them. Now he stands by where I keep hem and cries for one every morning! My husband said it is almost like catnip for dogs because of how he plays with them. Now I have to make sure I never run out because my dog loves these so much! When the Amazon box or sometimes an envelope arrives he must be able to smell them because he is so happy and tries to help me open the box. My dog is a beagle with a little cocker spaniel in him. One time he flipped it around and it went under my bed and he chewed the footboard trying to get at the Greenie so now I always make sure I’m home and watching him while he eats it. Great treat and I loved the toothbrush shape, too!

My dog absolutely goes bananas for these things. When I got her last year, she was a rescue. She had just given birth to a litter of pups and was fairly malnourished and definitely in poor dental health. On top of that, she was very intolerant of teeth brushing. I don't blame her either - I mean she had just come from a shelter and prior to that who knows. Greenies were a great first step in getting her teeth back in shape while we worked to get her acclimated to the toothbrush. I gave my dog one of these every evening for the first couple of months after I got her, and I was actually shocked at how much her teeth improved over that first few weeks. The plaque/tartar on her teeth has been reduced by about 50% over the course of 4 months, and using these along with a toothbrush even gets my vet's seal of approval. As an added bonus, my dog loves the flavor of these, and short of real meat, these are one of the highest value training reward treats I can find for her. They are easy enough to cut up into little bite sized pieces for training, so one of the regular sized bone/brushes yields about a dozen little snacks. Oh, and did I mention the price? I have yet to find a cheaper alternative than Amazon. The local and big box pet stores carry these, but at a much much higher cost.

I give Greenies to my 2 dogs every Saturday night after I wash the dishes. I don't know how they do it, but they seem to know when it's Saturday. They sit in the kitchen eagerly waiting for me to finish the dishes. When I'm done, I say to them "what's next?". They coax me upstairs to get their beloved Greenies. I guess they like them!
