Update 12/27/2018: Love the improved Blue Bottle. Narrower Spout & Cap Less Messy Than Twist Spout. Amazing Stuff. I apply a few drops and rub in. Oil wipes off of strings easily. Any7 excess "wetness" dries overnight. See my photo for a real life example of the dramatic difference. The "before" portion of the photo is my guitar upon arrival from the factory. It is a Schecter Banshee Elite-7 rosewood board.

If you are looking for an oil for fingerboard maintenance, you just found it. Literally everything about this product is phenomenal, and a 4.8/5 rating with hundreds of reviews reflects that. It smells *great*, revitalizes even extremely dry woods, cleans effectively (though some brushing may be required depending..), is well priced, and lasts a surprisingly long time. There really isn't much more to say.. like plenty of others I've tried many products but will never use another after finding this.

This is not Fretboard Oil Cleaner. It is pure magic! If you love your guitars and basses, you will purchase this immediately and start treating them with the love and care they deserve. It is sooooo easy to use, and a little goes a very long way. I recently worked on a mid '60s Harmony Rocket and the fretboard was, well, disgusting. I have included some before and after pics of the fretboard after crowning and polishing the frets and then cleaning it using Nomad. Judge for yourself.

I made the mistake of cleaning the fret board of my Ibanez by scrubbing it down with SOS pads. Stupid! I knew in advance that I shouldn't have use those harsh chemicals on the rosewood, but my mind blanked until I was halfway done scrubbing it down. My fretboard lost 70% or so of its deep, rich color and looked badly dried out. I chose this oil to treat and restore it, over another oil (I think by D'Addario) that's highly rated but contains petroleum chemicals that some people think are bad for the rosewood over a lifetime spent using it on an instrument. I've been delighted and fully relieved with the results I got treating my bass with this F-ONE oil. The rosewood on my fretboard looks good as new and has its deep, healthy color back.

Outstanding product. I used it to clean the crud from the frets of a cello that had not been played for 3-4 years. We had bought this fine instrument in Germany years ago but when the family member who played it died, it just sat in a closet, accumulating dust. I was very concerned about its condition after years of neglect. I used just a few drops of this product on a soft towel, and then waited for about ten minutes before wiping it off with a clean cloth. The results were amazing and far exceeded my expectations. The crud was gone, and the wood looked moist and finely polished as if it had been meticulously played and cared for without interruption. It sold immediately, a little above the asking price. I was so impressed by the product that I decided to use it on my antique, maple dining room table. As in the case of the cello, just a few drops literally brought the wood back to life. I highly recommend this product.

This is hands down the best fingerboard conditioner that I've ever used. I run a guitar repair shop, String Theory Guitar Repair, outside of Nashvillle, TN. I touch hundreds of guitars throughout the year and deal with a lot of dried fingerboards. I've used lemon oil (which is just mineral oil that smells lemoney) and boiled linseed with varied results. This stuff is amazing! It's all natural. A little goes a long way too. I had the pleasure of talking to Music Nomad's CEO one day and he said that this stuff is made out of various kinds of nuts.

Cleaned and conditioned my maple fretboard very well. I used this between changing strings. I put a few drops on a microfiber cloth and wiped down the fretboard well and got all of the dirt and dead skin off first. Then I put a few drops on a clean portion of the cloth and massaged it into the wood gently. Then I used a dry portion of cloth to wipe away any excess oil and let it rest for several minutes. Made the neck look shiney and new.

I used this to clean and condition my 80's Westone Raider 2 rosewood fretboard. The product did exactly as it says. Got lots of junk off and put good oils back into the board keeping it from drying out. Doesn't clog the wood grain. F-One just leaves it clean and smooth. Nice to give the old metal monster some love. I ordered the fret cleaner kit from the same company and can't wait to test it out. This guitar has really never been cleaned since well... the 80's cause I didn't know what to use on it. I was afraid of many other products because as soon as one person would say its good... there would be others saying you shouldn't use it. This company seems to make great products that are well received by the majority of people who use them. I'll write a review next week if your interested in how the fret cleaner kit from this company works. I should have it in a few days. For now the fretboard is great. One last thing, if your like me, and think that this little bottle won't go a long way your wrong. I used just drops to do the whole board. I have three guitars, and this little bottle should last years!!!!

At first, especially after receiving the bottle and realizing how small it was, I felt like it was kind of over priced. However, that all changed. I read the instructions, but then thought I'd find and watch some videos of people using it to get a better idea of how to do it properly. It became apparent very quickly that the amount needed to oil an entire fret board is so little that this little bottle will likely last years, even with a small collection of guitars to maintain. And wow! This stuff is awesome!!! I've done two guitars so far, both of which likely have never had their fret boards oiled, and the difference is dramatic. Not only does it make the fret board look absolutely beautiful (the natural wood never looked so good) but it really increases play-ability and smoothness on the neck. I felt like my fingers were gliding around the neck, such a wonderful smooth feeling. I waited until the next day (maybe 12-15 hours) after cleaning before putting strings back on and playing. There was no oily residue or anything like that, as the wood seems to really absorb it nicely. Days later they look and play just as amazingly. I considered doing another round of oiling them since the wood was somewhat old and never been serviced like this, but so far it doesn't seem necessary. I do advise that you use a damp (just barely damp, not wet) cloth to clean off visible gunk from the fret board before oiling. It doesn't really matter I'm sure, but just felt like a better process (on my 2nd guitar) to wipe off gunk first, then oil so it just looks absolutely beautiful when it's done :-) I highly recommend this product to anyone who owns a guitar (with a non-gloss neck - has to be natural wood). This will be a standard part of my guitar tune-up a couple times a year, at least. Love it!

Once I used this on my dark fretboards they started to darken like I remembered them. They really look great now even though I've neglected them for years. It was easy to apply during string changes, just rub in a drop or 2 on each fret. A bottle will last you for years of cleanings.
