I ordered this for my soon to be 9 month old daughter. It shipped fast and arrived with simple instructions for assembly. It comes with an Alan wrench, and all you do is take out 2 screws, flip up the handle bar, and secure the 2 screws in another pre drilled hole. The walker itself is super sturdy, and is high quality. My 9 month old cannot stand up alone yet, so I let her grasp the handle bar (not correct term but that's just what I call it), while she happily stands & licks the handle bar. (It comes up to about her chin area). So this is a fairly large toy, that will definitely be used for years to come. There's a storage area in the front, so you can load it up with toys and let your little one push them around the room. Or in my case, your baby who's still sitting upright with some crawling, can play with whatever is inside the storage area while checking out the cool accessories on this wooden walker. There's gears that turn, beads, a car on a path that can be moved around and a few other things that grabs the baby's attention. My 4 year old and 7 year old immediately stuck their baby sister in the walkers storage area and pushed her around. So now Ruby is happy sitting in that compartment, and will probably take her time learning how to actually walk with this. My 4 year old already was sitting in it as well, with his older sister pulling him with a jump rope they had tied around it. This is one of those community toys. Where your entire household will use (abuse) it! This is a beautiful walker that is not an eye sore sitting in your front room. If you are thinking of buying one, splurge on this item, it's worth it. I need to add that the wheels on this walker are a type of rubber that's sandwiched by thin circular wood pieces. Very nice construction. Lastly, Hape Toys is a wonderful company. Read about their history and growth. They're an environmentally friendly business. I have several of their products/toys and I'm a satisfied customer. I'm happy with my purchase!

My 10 month old absolutely LOVES this toy! She puts her doll and all of her favorite toys in it and pushes it all over the place! She hasn't quite figured out how to turn around so we have to do it for her. I think that says more about my child than the product LOL.

i bought this after having purchased the Hape block and roll walker. The block set walker is slightly smaller, definitely lighter, and shorter. The Hape Wonder Walker is much taller which is perfect for my very tall 8 month old, and it's much sturdier than any other wooden walker or plastic walker i've seen. It has not tipped back once since my baby has gotten it which deserves 10 stars alone. She loves to play with the different activities on the walker, and pushes it around with ease. Although the wheels are not adjustable in terms of speed, it doesn't seem to roll as fast as the other hape walkers and is perfect for her at 8 months walking on carpet. I can see this lasting for years to come, and can see her future sibling(s) using this as well. worth every penny!

Our first child had a different walker that worked great for him. When baby #2 started to use it, however, it tipped over, so we had to get her something sturdier. This did the job. From 9 months she could pull herself up with it, and would play happily with the knobs and gears and toys. When she was starting to cruise, we put some books and heavy toys in the bin part so that she could really lean on it with no danger of it tipping backwards as she started to walk. Sometimes she would sit in it and her brother would push her around (the wheels are tight enough that he couldn't go far). She loved to stand on it like it was a segway and try to move that way, and it never toppled over. Total success. One day after less than 6 months of use, a piece of a nut (as in, at the end of the bolt) broke, and a wheel fell off. There was clearly no way to fix it with any conventional hardware. We contacted Hape and they immediately sent us a replacement -- no questions asked, no hassle, quickly and efficiently. My now 16 month old still really loves her walker. She uses it to push her dolls around, or to sit in and push herself around with her arms, or just to push around for fun. It looks as good as new, and will easily be handed down to another child at the right time.

My 10-month old LOVES LOVES LOVES this walker. Just loves it. She's been walking with help for over a month now, and this walker is extremely sturdy. She's a big, strong girl and this does very well for her. We recently went to a party and she used a friend's Brio Toddler Wobbler, but it was way too light and not sturdy enough for my daughter. It was consistently veering in one direction or another due to her enthusiastic pushing. I chose this brand over others due to the fun puzzles on the sides (she's somewhat interested in them, sometimes) and the fact that she can use it as a "stroller" as she gets older to push around her toys (she's already starting to put things in the wagon part to push around). It just seemed like a high-quality toy that would grow with her better than other brands. So far, I think I'm right (I love that - especially for expensive baby toys when you just never know what kids will take to or not)!

Love love love this walker toy! And so does my 1 year old. Wanted a sturdy noise free walker that my 1 year old could actually pull to stand on, we had a fisher price one that was too flimsy for that and would flip over, but this one is sturdy with the wheels set back from handle bar making it stable enough for baby to bear weight on. In addition it has rubber grips on wheels to protect floors and slow the toy down for a new walker. The gear toys and maze toys are also a fun feature for a seated baby. Worth the extra cost for this well made toy!

At first our boy didn't take to it. He was 9 mos and crawling. He was just pulling himself up but had no interest in doing it on the move. By the next month he was thrilled to go to it and stroll along and wave like the flipping king of the house. Walking now at 12 mos but still using it. In fact expanding his use for it. Things go in it. It can slam and crash. It can make the dogs run out of the room. I'll try to keep you posted when he begins to loose interest, but, for now, it remains a wonderfully distracting tool, I mean toy. Written by daddy.

We purchased this walker when my son was nine months old to help him learn to walk. He is now finally walking at 14 months. It was quick and easy to assemble and the colours are bright and true to the picture. It is all wood, except for the gears on the side of the bin. This product definitely helped our son gain confidence on his feet. It is quite heavy and does not tip over easily which is great. However, I will mention that because of its weight the rate at which it gets moving was a little fast for my son at first and you need to stay close since it can run away from the kid and they can fall forward trying to keep up. It did not take long for my son to gain a little balance and strength so that he was able to better control the speed. Changing directions was another issue. It needs to be lifted to turn so even though our son can safely walk around with it, he still is not strong enough to turn it. And in our house it does occasionally leave red marks on doors and skirting boards. We keep his small living room toys in the bin and he likes to crawl over and pull them all out. he loves anything that spins which includes all the activities included on the back and sides of the cart so he gets lots of entertainment out of it while stationary. I can see him using this for years, especially once he is strong enough to move it about himself. I like the rubber on the wheels and it rolls easily on our area rugs and hard wood floors. It also protects his little toes when he sometimes rolls it back on them. I also like that it doesn't make any noise, he has enough other toys that do that. The round red nobs on the handle are a great fit for little hands. We are very happy with the purchase!

I cannot say enough good things about this walker. I was a little concerned based on a few less than stellar reviews. I intend for this to be a Christmas gift this year for my 7m old who is pulling up and needs something sturdy. Because of the few reviews stating wobbly wheels and parts that aren't wood, I (well, my husband) went ahead and assembled it just to check it out and make sure it was good to go so we didn't have any Christmas Eve surprises. Assembly was all of four screws - super easy. All of the parts and details are wood except for the piece of plexiglass covering the middle detail on the handle and the little gears on the side. The center part of the gears are wood, it is just the gears themselves that are plastic. Very durable plastic I might add and I personally think this was a good choice since it allows them to spin more easily than if they were made of wood. It rolls very smoothly and just like most others have reported, it seems to be very solid. Obviously, since it is still November, my daughter has yet to receive this toy so I cannot comment on the playability factor but I know it will draw her in as a walker at the very least. Since that is its intended purpose, that is good enough for me. I think she will enjoy the little doodads on the sides but I'm sure they won't be the major draw. All in all, I am extremely happy with this purchase and would definitely buy it again!

We love this, it's so well made, wood and just the right height for early walkers. We gave this to our 9 month old (30th percentiles) and he started using it right away. He can pull up on it without it tipping over. It is heavy, much heavier than plastic ones, so turning corners needs some assistance. He loves the cogs on the side (unfortunately the only plastic part!) too, plays with them a lot. I think this would be fine for older children too who are just walking, or want something to push around with their bears in.
