Excellent quality, keeps kids engaged
Great addition to our toy rotation. Purchased for our 2yo but our 4yo loves it as well. Has proven to be a good challenge for both which is great as it keeps them engaged. Excellent quality wood puzzle (with plastic peg secured with elastic so it’s flexible and no worry about anyone getting hurt or breaking the peg off). Same great quality as all of our Hape toys. Highly recommend!

Hape = High Quality Toys
This is the 3rd Hape toy we own, and I have come to associate this German company with quality wooden toys. Unlike a couple other brands (Melissa & Doug and Kaplan) I previously bought, their paint does not chip/flake off easily. The wooden pieces are very smoothly sanded and of beautiful quality. For this peg puzzle toy, the pegs are bendy, but sturdy. I believe they made them flexible, so kids, and adults alike, don't hurt themselves if they accidentally fall onto them. I do not have any issues of the shapes not fitting properly as a few reviewers have mentioned. My two year-old has already mastered putting the right shapes onto the right pegs (each peg has different positioning of the pins), and fitting the 4 pieces of the puzzle together. She has learnt to rotate the pieces through trial and error and with patience. It definitely helped improve her fine motor skills, plus, there are shapes and colors to learn as well. The only nitpick I have is that all the colors are varying shades of the same name, as in dark, medium, light pink, blue, green, except yellow and orange. All in all, this is an engaging and educational toy that kept my daughter's interest, even though it does not make sounds like so many of her electronic toys do.

Seriously Cool Developmental Toy
This is one of the cooler developmental toys we've purchased for our son, because it combines a lot of different possible teaching elements: reasoning, fine motor, shape sorting, color shades, jigsaw puzzles in sizes that are easier for kiddos with fine motor skill struggles to manipulate. This is one we're still working on helping our son to use across all of these possible modalities. My rating on this is based entirely on how many skills we can target with it for our kiddo (he has developmental delays, etc.). He himself doesn't have any great love for this toy, but that's not unusual for him. He will, however, work with me on it when I bring it out, so I consider it as successful as it usually gets with our handsome little man...

Makes my toddler think!
I love that this puzzle makes my daughter think about where the pieces fit. She is 22 months old and has been using the same puzzle at daycare for awhile. She liked it so much that we bought one for home! It is a bit annoying to store when it is assembled so we just take apart all the pieces when she is done playing and store them in a small bin.

Well Made and Educational Toy
The pieces are nice size. I love that you can introduce the concept of light and dark colors with this. The fine motor development is the focal point of this toy. My daughter turned 2 recently and doesn't quite get how to line things up yet. It's a toy with a lot of growing into. She's happy to put the big chunky pieces together. Or she'll sort the pieces. The peg part is a smooth plastic which it looks like some aren't happy about. I bought a competitors that was solid wood and the pegs arrived broken. Returned it and bought this one. Wished I just bought this one to begin with.

Great toddler puzzle
This is a great puzzle, got it so my daughter could grow into it but she has already mastered it lol. I thought this was fully wood so was bit disappointed that the middle was plastic so worth mentioning for others that might be all/mostly wood toys at home

great
Great toy puzzle for toddlers! My son hasn't mastered it yet, and that's great. He has fun putting together the puzzle base and trying to figure out how to get the various shaped pieces onto the pegs. Great toy that will provide learning entertainment for a good while.

Stays interesting and challenging...
Its good bang for the buck... Well made and lots of ways for your child to explore shapes, colors, and of course puzzle elements. The unpainted part of the toy was easy enough for my almost 2 year old. The spinning peg part, is challenging...but in a good way. She first figured out how to spin the shapes off, then on. And as mentioned, there is stacking, color and shape naming and the board itself to work on too. A great gift (since its unusual enough that most folks won't have it yet). I'd say its perfect for a 18mo - 2yr old! (For the mfg... why not make the unpainted board puzzle each different shapes so they need to attach in a specific way...too hard maybe? Also, a resting piece for the puzzle would be nice for storage.)

Best kids puzzle
This puzzle is so cool! so many different things you can do with this puzzle. My daughter just loves it! And really well thought out design, the part that sticks up that you put the pieces on is put on with stretchy cord so it breaks away if your child were to fall on that it would break away instead of poking them! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this toy!

I love HAPE products
I love HAPE products. And so do my kids. This one is slightly challenging, but my little girl is only 17 months old. So I think it will be great for her soon enough. Quality made as always. This is a toy you can feel good about buying
