I bought this socket to change the spark plugs on my 2009 F-150 with the 5.4 3V Triton. This tool was the perfect length to reach the plugs, which are recessed in the heads. Once the plug cleared the threads, the rubber insert held on to the plug for safe removal. If you're changing your spark plugs, this socket is a must. My F-150 has the one-piece plugs, so these are not the two-piece that are known to break. Apparently Ford corrected that issue midway through 2008.

This socket is very well made and perfectly suited to the dreaded Ford 5.4 3-valve plug replacement. I used with a combination of 5/8 deep and shallow well impact sockets (removing plugs) and a 3/8 extension for (hand starting and torquing). The hot plug method worked perfectly for me (see FordTechMakuloco on **utube - worked 8 out of 8) and the socket held up and worked flawlessly and held onto each of the plugs out after they were unthreaded with my stubby impact. I dreaded this job for a week and it only took a couple of short hours, including the test drive. Don't forget the nickel anti-seeze and the Motorcraft dielectric grease for the COPS. I can't speak highly enough of this quality tool.

Those plugs were buried. This tool did the trick. Not magnetic but that's ok. The poly rubber insert in there held the plugs perfectly. Same thing but magnetic from tool truck franchise is $72.

It does the job at its best. I use it with the impact wrench a couple of months already, and it hasn't broken (yet), not even cracked, and it's NOT made for use with an impact wrench! I can say that is of excellent quality and yes, I've already recommended it to my friends, and also yes, one of them got it and he's also very impressed with this Sunex' socket quality.

I wanted to change the spark plugs in my Mazda 3 Skyactiv 2.0 and bought this after reading that it was a perfect fit for Mazda's deep and narrow space and it's 9/16th's spark plug size. It was a perfect fit! It has a rubber gasket inside it that picked up the old spark plugs and let me lift them out and it firmly held the new ones as I put them in. I definitely recommend it for any Mazda Skyactiv owner who wants to change their own spark plugs.

Perfect fit. 2016 Toyota Corolla. I had a situation where I got a socket stuck in the spark plug pipe. Used about every tool and option in my garage plus YouTube videos etc. I ended up removing it with a flathead screwdriver the exact size/hole of the socket and tugged it right out. After that I used this with hesitation but it fit and worked like a charm. The rubber lining inside will pull the spark plug right out for you easily.

Worked perfectly on my 2010 F-150 5.4L. Where the CTA 2385 spark plug tool was too short, this thing was the perfect length for the longer SP-509 Motorcraft plugs. Cleared the plug well perfectly too. Plus, the fact that this tool was rigid (no universal) meant I could direct the plugs straight into their respective holes with less worrying about cross-threading. Should've bought this the first time!

Bought this for a friend, for their 2013 Rogue. The one with the 9/16" hex spark plugs, and long insulator neck! Worked great and the rubber insert didn't pull out! I can't stand it when they do that! It's chrome-vanadium (CR-V) not Cro-Moly. You can zoom in and see CR-V stamped on the picture! Not a big deal, but just to clear it up. I actually like CR-V for this kind of hand tool application. It's really nice, a quality tool! I don't think you'll be disappointed in this socket! If you need a 9/16 deep well spark plug socket

Perfect tool for removing those deep set Ford spark plugs. Use an end wrench, or a ratchet.

If I was advertising this tool I would note that it is perfect for removing the Mercruiser alpha one gen two Shift cable. To tell the truth I have never seen a 9/16 spark plug but have seen a bunch of shift cable that removing is made easer by this tool 5 starts baby.
