I am a professional automotive technician. I bought this GearWrench 81919 set for use at work, so it's been used pretty heavily ever since. For reference, I also own sets of Snap-On and Kobalt wrenches (size comparison photo of all 3 brands included). The gearwrench wrenches hold up well to daily use, and quality-wise, I would place them above the Kobalt/Husky/Craftsman wrenches available in local stores, but below the "tool truck" brands - Basically, a great choice for those who want high quality tools, but don't want to shell out the money for Snap-On, Mac, etc. A word on quality - as far as wrench sizing and construction quality, these GearWrench wrenches are pretty good. However, if you're one of those people that has to have perfectly clean tools with flawless, polished chrome, this may not be the set for you. The wrenches all had minor scuffs and scratches from the start, I presume as a result of the factory packaging (they're basically piled together in a big box, pictured in photo attached to this review). I don't care, since in my line of work everything winds up with scuffs and scratches anyway, but it may be a deal breaker for some.

Wow.. I'm a shadetree mechanic and I typically buy middle of the road or budget tools (think Kobalt/Harbor Freight/etc.). I didn't want some crappy wrench set that skipped sizes, so I thought I'd try this GearWrench set since the price seemed fair for the number of wrenches, especially when compared to the competition. I thought at this price, I'd get "OK" wrenches. I was wrong. THESE THINGS ROCK! I'm not a professional technician -- I'm a shade-tree wanna-be and these are definitely the nicest tools in my toolbox now. Buy these now.. Even if you don't need wrenches, these are so pretty you could hang them on the wall as art. Just don't come crying to me when you wife throws a fit.

I will start by saying I am not a big gear wrench fan at all, with that said, this is a nice set of large combo wrenches. I needed these for a project I was doing and did not have wrenches this big. I am not the kind of person who will buy a cheap tool to hopefully get him buy for one use, if I'm buying a tool I want a nice quality one that will last me forever, even if I only plan on using it once. I was looking at another brand but I came across these on a good enough sale it was hard to turn down. I went ahead and took the chance and I have been pleased with these. For the project I was doing I had some large bolt/nuts that had to be cranked down to about 120 ft lbs and small space to work in, I was able to get these in there and they had enough leverage to be able to get them torqued in the small awkward space. No damage to tool, no rounding off on the tool or bolts/nuts, no damage to finish. These are of good quality and for the price I paid they were definitely worth it. The roll up pouch is actually pretty decent quality as well, heavy enough material and rings to be able to stretch it tight and hang up and it stays in tact. Not usually one to recommend these guys but for this product I say go for it, I cant really think of one bad thing I could say about this set

First of all I would like to point out that the value of these wrenches are insane. A wrench set this size anywhere else would cost an arm and a leg. I probably have more wrenches in my toolbox than I will ever probably need but all the gearwrench wrenches I have are better quality than other brands by far. I've used various other brands and I like mac, snap on and matco but when buying the wrenches they offer I've felt ripped off when you have sets like this. Im am totally satisfied with this product and while I may not use these wrenches everyday they are absolutely handy when working on a job were you don't really need a flex head or ratcheting wrench . One of the most simplistic tools that everyone should have is a really good set of regular wrenches and these are the best money can buy in my opinion.

I bought this set to replace the craftsman wrenches I daily use at my job as an ag technician. I was a little concerned on the quality as this is a large set for the price. After I opened the box and inspected them I found that they are a quality set. I have been using them for a month now and I expect them to hold up the rest of my career (25 years). They have a very nice polish on them with nice large numbers to see what size you are reaching for. If I need to purchase more wrenches in the future I will be purchasing these again.

Over the years as a Porche Mec. , most tools S-K , of course all metric and all quality tools , and as a commercial fisherman I used mostly Craftsman , often replaced every year and they are (were) another great tool . Had a house fire and huge shop burn to the ground some years ago and never replaced the tools I went to GearWrench last year taking a chance and what I received was as advertised with very few flaws if any . They are substantial in your hand and fit your adversary's well . I've used both sloppy and tight clearances and these are just about right . If you appreciate a very good tool at what I believe a good price consider this set . I do "not" like slick tools and these are that ! Spare me the glitter , give me more grip . A 5 Star as advertised , I give these a 4 1/2 for the shine.

This set of wrenches is hard to beat price wise and quality. Seeing my craftsman tools weren’t holding up at my work (I work at a diesel repair shop) I though I would give gearwrench a try. Sure enough this kit has just about every wrench I need to even work on hydraulic equipment. I do need to find a wrench between 1-5/16 and 1-1/2. But these wrenches feel solid and are comfortable to work with. Skip on spending your money on snap on and Mac and get these

I purchased the wrench set for a new service truck. This is a great set and the price is very good. It's hard to get a complete set of wrenches any more and this set covers most applications. I recommend this set if you need a quality set at a good price.

I bought this set for the shop. I'm not usually too keen on tools made in China, but there is no getting around the fact that this is one great set of wrenches for the money. They are sturdy, well made, have "flank drive", are nicely chromed and are long. If you need larger than 1" wrenches, then for $10 a wrench (at the time of this writing) you will probably not find a better deal. You might pay less at Harbor Freight, but they're not going to be much less in price, and they certainly aren't going to be this kind of quality.

I bought these to replace my Craftsman wrenches for work. Everything so far has been great. The fit on fasteners has been spot on. The extra length is helpful with stubborn bolts. The only draw back is that this set comes in loose in two boxes so make sure you lay them out and take inventory.
