Works as advertised

There's not much to say about this product- it does what it's designed to do, secure a monitor (or laptop) to a desk. I bought several of them to secure monitors I was using at a tradeshow so I could leave my booth throughout the day and overnight without worry. No problems. I suppose someone could still rip off your equipment if they had no concern for ripping out the VGA port, but at that point there's really nothing you can do to stop the thief.

Excellent. Second one I own now. First bought 8 years ago and still works. Use them for other things too! Like putting through sleeve of coat when out!

Really nice lock, the alarm function works really good

Really nice lock, the alarm function works really good; but not advised to be used in crowded office environment if you are not going to be close to it, if the alarms goes off it soon gets pretty annoying.

Great For A Day At The Beach

I travel for vacation as much as I can and like to go to beaches to get into the water. The problem is that I was always looking at the beach to see if anyone was stealing my beach bag. Now I don't have to worry! If anyone is crazy enough to pick up a bag with an alarm hanging on it, they're stupid. There are plenty of other bags to steal that don't have alarms - why take mine? The secret is to weave the cable through the handles and zippers of the bag nice and tight so they won't be tempted to reach in. And, if there is something to anchor it to, like a beach chair or umbrella, that'll make it even more difficult to steal your bag. We were just in Mexico with some friends and the cable was long enough to loop through a few bags.

A plethora of uses...!

I use these as anti-disturbance devices...on windows, doors...other objects I want left alone. They work quite well. Very reliable. It would be interesting to find a unit like this that uses the wi-fi net in a home to alert the owner over their smart-phone, tablet or lap top to the activation of the alarm. I would think such circuits are fairly economical just now.

Just what I was looking for.

I needed to secure the TV I bought for my Son's dorm. The regular laptop locks don't work for a TV because they don't have the place to connect it. This seemed like the only choice I had and it worked perfectly. On top of that, this lock was cheaper then most of the other locks. Unlike others in this review, I was able to set the combination to a new number without any problems. Just make sure that you use one of those small screw drivers to push the screw in and then turn it.

Great for digital nomads

Great for digital nomads: simple, compact, quick to deploy, quick to store. It's probably enough to stop a snatch-and-run theft or an opportunistic thief. It will not stop a determined or prepared thief.
