For $30, I did not expect much. However, this is a much higher quality products than what you would expect for something in this price range. My wife is a dentist, and has one of those $1000 + loupe, and when I let her try it on, she could not believe how good this compared to her professional dental loupe. She even argued with me about why I would need something like this, thinking it was a couple hundred dollars. When I told her how much it cost, no more argument, Highly recommend . This is one of those product that I feel I got every penny's worth .

These lenses are great! My only quibbles are that some of the lenses are too loose/slim to fit into the slots, so they fall out, and that the product return window period is too short. 4 Stars Update: 5 Stars Carson immediately contacted me after my review above, and offered to replace the lenses. I had already previously purchased a second set of lenses, but in the end I decided to keep the first set of lenses as well. I appreciate that Carson stands by their products. Carson went all out to make it right. If you want to offer your business to a company that offers great products together with service excellence, Carson is the company to buy from!

I have six optical visors some more expensive than others but this one works better than even my most expensive ones. It does slip down and requires some fidgeting as you wear it, but I have a lot of hair so this probably contributes to that. The light on it is the best one so far on any of my other visors. The instructions are not so clear and it took me a second to figure out how to get to the batteries. On the bottom where the light case is held you see a hole, to open this you push up into that hold and the light pops out and then you can get to the battery. I did experience difficulty getting the first lens I tried out of the two sockets, I suspect that it will be easier as you move it in and out. I was kind of fearful it would break, that is how much force I had to use to get the lens out. The other lens were not as tight and came out with more ease. Overall this is worth the money.

What a fantastic product this is! I am a photorealistic pencil artist and my focus is detail. For Me, I can't draw it if I can't see it. With the different choices of lenses, the option to use a bright LED head lamp, it's a perfect solution. The visor itself is lightweight and adjustable. The lenses easily fit over my prescription transitional glasses and if I need to look away from my drawing for any reason, I simply flip up the lenses rather than taking the whole visor off. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and will be purchasing another as backup so I will never be without one.

UPDATE 6/18/17 Unfortunately I had to return these. In order to keep this thing on my head I had to tighten the visor to extreme levels which felt like a vice grip on my head. To make matters worse, the hard plastic visor made my forehead sweat which caused the visor to slide off and into my face regardless of how tight I had the headband. Great lenses but poor design choices on the visor. Looks like I'll have to opt for the design that has a nose rest. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Got these for reading a very thick programming instruction book. The lenses on these work great for reading. I don't like wearing glasses because I can't stand having something sitting on my nose. This visor solves this problem. The visor is easy to adjust for a firm fit AND the visor can be tilted upward or downward for the proper reading angle. Love the feature that the lenses can be flipped out of the way when I need to look at something else other than text. The only drawback to the visor is that it's made of a hard plastic. The "pad" that rests on your forehead is also plastic which makes my forehead sweaty. The hard plastic material isn't very comfortable but it's an acceptable sacrifice for getting to read for longer periods without eyestrain. The lenses are made from a hard almost glass-like plastic. You can definitely see and feel the quality of the lenses which come in a case. Attaching the lenses isn't too tricky. They snap in rather easily. Removing them is the difficult part. Just make sure you remove them from one side first rather than trying to left the lens out of its seating all at once. You'll definitely want to remove the lenses and return them to the case in between each use. I use the lens that provides the minimum amount of magnification of the set. I can read with my book at the normal comfortable distance and get great magnification.

I do a lot of detail work that requires clear vision: I'm a composer, so seeing the staff lines on music manuscript paper is critical. I also do a lot of paper crafts that require precision in cutting and layering different papers. Over the past couple of years, my vision has been deteriorating. A large part of that is due to cataracts (surgery is scheduled, but about 6 weeks away). Anyway, I was finding my day to day ability to perform even basic detail work was ... well ... not good. Even reading print on the computer -- even with zoom at 200% -- is nearly impossible. A friend suggested getting the Donegan OptiVISOR Complete Kit, DA-S1, but I couldn't see springing for something that pricey that I may need for only a couple of months. I decided to try the Carson Pro Series MagniVisor, and I couldn't be happier. This is making a HUGE difference in my ability to see and maneuver small bits (either notes on a staff or bits of paper). I use the lowest magnification lens with my computer to help me see the printing on the screen. The focal depth works perfectly. I use the other lenses for my detail paper crafts work. You do need to be careful when you insert and remove the different lenses. There are clear instructions for how to do this -- just be gentle! You'll need 3 AAA batteries for the light. It's bright, and adjustable. And the unit is reasonably comfortable to wear, even for long hours. The strap adjusts easily, and it doesn't weigh very much, even with the batteries in the light. This was money well spent. I feel like I have just gotten part of my life back.

I dont often write product reviews, but after using this product I just had to say something. I have used several magnivisors in the past for my plastic modeling hobby and this one is by far the BEST I have ever used. It fits very comfortably on my head and comes with 5 different magnifications. In addition, the light is actually bright enough to be useful and can be easily removed and postioned anywhere on your worksurface if so desired. Its even magnetized so you can stick on a something metal and out of the way. Its a very eloquent yet simple design. If I could give it more stars I would. Great price as well and I highly recommend it.

I have been visually disabled for the past 10 years because of a disease process. Reading has always been a passion of mine, and for most of the past 5 years I have not been able to read standard print: books, newspapers, product boxes, lots of things, without the aide of a magnifier. I have an older model reader that is quite large, and not comfortable to use for extended periods. I have also not been able to use my sewing machine. A neighbor suggested that I look for a pair of magnifying goggles, so perhaps I would be able to use the machine again, so I looked at what was available on Amazon, because the prices are usually very good, and returning items is a snap. I ordered the Carson Magnifier because I could still wear my glasses, plus there were 4 different magnifying lenses in a separate case. For reasons I really can't quite explain, using this magnifier with the lowest power lens plus my regular glasses, allows me to read normal print again-everything I have looked at so far. The headgear is very comfortable to wear, plus the lens holder itself and the light are completely adjustable. The entire item appears to be well made, no flimsy plastic at all, and pieces fit together securely. I recommend this item for anyone who needs to have more magnification and light but requires a hands free application.

I'm a beader and was skeptical about ordering these because I wear progressive bi-focals and wasn't sure they would work with them. Even with the bi-focal I was having trouble with some close work with tiny beads. Well, they ABSOLUTELY do work and I continue to be amazed at what a difference they make. I love the light - it gives just the right amount of extra, focused right on my work. It took a few times to get a good placement on my forehead but once I found it, I don't have a problem even if I work a few hours at a time and the ease in moving the lenses up and down for distance vision is great. I would highly recommend these to anyone that does close-up work, needs the help, and doesn't want to strain their eyes.

Oh, to be able to see! My reading glasses just weren't cutting it anymore and I needed a little extra help. I had researched magnifying visors in the past, but wasn't happy with the products I had found. Then, the light bulb went on and I searched on lighted magnifying visors and the Carson Optical Pro MagniVisor Deluxe appeared! The reviews were good. The company was responsive to questions and reviews. And, their customer service seems outstanding. After watching a video for this product I was sold. When it arrived I carefully read the instructions to insert and remove the lenses properly because many other reviewers complained of the tabs breaking. Once you get the hang of it by following the directions it's easy to switch them out without fear of breakage. I swapped out and tried a few lenses to figure out which one worked best for me and the close-up, detailed metalsmithing tasks at hand. The lenses also flip out so there's no need to take the visor off if you just need to look around with your own eyes or pop on your regular glasses for a moment. The best thing about this visor is the light! My work space is somewhat dark. The extra illumination shining directly on my work makes all the difference between good quality work and exceptional quality work because now I can see the details! The lenses come in a box to keep them protected and a cleaning cloth is also included. Other reviewers also complained about the band being uncomfortable. I'll admit that at first I was also experiencing headache. However, I adjusted the band and tried wearing it in different places on my head until I found just the right spot. No more headache! The band is also really easy to adjust. This is a well-thought out visor with lots of details. Similar items sell for a lot more and don't offer the light, as many lenses, the high quality, or the Carson customer service. I'm very happy with this purchase and have already recommended it to other jeweler friends who immediately purchased it, too.
