I am using this filter in place of a whirlpool 42-34370 post filter in my r.o. whirlpool system, this only a wrapped carbon filter( carbon just on the outer perimeter of the filter) so do not expect to perform like a higher end carbon filter, but it works well as a post filter in a r.o. system. many people complain of odor and bad taste after installing these filters, you must run water though these filters for 30-40 mins before use!! I empty my r.o. tank 3 times before use.

We are on well water. The only issue we have with our water is its iron content. This filter made all the difference. After use, the outside of the filter was completely orange from iron and the inside was still bright white. That was the best indicator to me that it keeps the iron out. I'm not sure yet how often I will have to replace it, assuming that it depends on different levels of iron one might have in their system. If its once a month, it will be well worth the time and money to keep the iron out.

these are great filters. I use them with my water softener system. ive had filters fall apart during use, but this one holds up pretty well. I changed them once my wife told me she started smelling the chlorine again which was well beyond its recommended use time.

We get these as replacements for our water filter in an apartment and a single one generally lasts about ~6months for us. These are mainly used to get rid of the chlorine flavor in tap water and it works great. Easy to install, no fuss and not only saves hundreds on bottled water but also keeps plastic out of the landfill!

Good 10-inch carbon filters for use in any 10-inch water cartridge filtration unit. Good for replacing existing filters, preferably before contaminant breakthrough occurs when filter adsorption capacity is exhausted. The price is very competitive. Makes frequent replacement of used filter cartridges affordable. Compare.

I've been using these for the last year at our cottage in Ontario Canada. We have well water and a pump that produces 50psi max. These work very well and I change them as needed especially early in the season when we first turn the water on. Clears all the rust and sediment away nicely and leaves the water crystal clear and clean tasting. Highly recommend to anyone with well water.

Awesome filter. My water didn't have any noticeable sediment, just a really bad taste. So I bought one ten inch housing and this carbon filter and it immediately made the water drinkable. This one filter services just the refrigerator where we get all of our drinking water from so I will report back after it has run for a couple months about the taste. So far this one $7 filter has done more than the $30 filter ever did in the fridge. Update: 10/22/17 - I got about five months of use out of just one carbon filter. The filter was only being used for the waterline feeding the refrigerator, but that is where all the drinking water and ice is used by my wife and I. My setup is just this filter and the small five-stage filter that most modern fridges tend to have. This was enough to fix the bad taste in my cities water system. For my needs can cost this is an excellent solution and I'm very happy with how these type of filters perform.

i have been using carbon filters for a couple of years. like them and look for the best price on high rated filters at time of need. once they shipped it took 2 days

Installation was easy and the fit was perfect. The carbon filter works well, maybe too well. The filter won’t likely last three months and maybe not the 15kgal if your water source is high in total suspended solids i.e., algae, sediment, etc. I am switching the filter out after 1 month due to a significant drop in water pressure; probably due to our local water source having high levels of tss. However, I am very impressed with the apparent filtration of dissolved solids as I cannot distinguish my filtered tap water from “spring” bottled water -- amazing considering how high our local iron and hardness levels are. Lastly, the price is perfect and I'd highly recommend this to anyone who prefers to have filtered water, but more importantly, cleaner tasting water.

A better deal than Wally World. I use them in series to filter water twice.I change both at the same time.
