This saw finished my move from 18V to the LiOn tools. It is also very cool the 90 degree opposed 2nd blade mount, no excuse to not being able to cut something ever again... This saw is a monster with the 5 AH battery and a wimp with the sub 3 AH batteries, it's all about the batteries now! Paid $86 for it with free shipping, a most awesome deal!!!

Great tool. Light weight compared to standard electric ones. Battery interchangeable with other 20 volt Dewalt tools. Great grip feel.

Had to return my original purchase from Amazon due to a defective shoe. But I bought another one at a big box store where I could check it out before I purchased it. I need it for trimming trees and cutting up fallen branches in my yard. It does a great job on limbs as thick as 6 inches. I'm 60 year old 110 lb female and it's light weight enough that I can use it with one hand (better with 2 hands though). Vibrates pretty bad, so hold on tight. Vibration is less under heavy load.

If your not going to be cutting down any monster trees this is for you. You don't have to worry about the chain coming off or adjusting the tension on the chain or running low on bar chain oil. Great tool. I bought several devices using the same battery. All the blades of other brands are interchangeable and much cheaper than the Dewalt brand which is a definite plus.

Works great, adjustable guard is easy to use. I used it the first day for about 30 minutes to test it out with a pruning blade to break up large fallen tree limbs. Still had 2/3 battery and when I started the battery was not fully charged. I will really test this thing over the winter and spring for firewood. I would highly recommend for DIYers and home improvement projects. Price was great too compared to big name in-store prices.

I've had a plug-in milwaukee plug-in sawzall for years, everyone knows how nice they are. Fifteen or so years ago I got a dewalt 36-volt kit that had a reciprocating saw in it. I've used the snot out of it ever since, especially for pruning and keeping the trails in my woods clear. It was a pretty good saw, not quite as heavy duty as the old milwaukee. This new one is very heavy duty, I've already done quite a bit of work with it, you won't be disappointed. It is kind of aggressively vibraty, but not a problem (or a word)...

Needed a reciprocating saw for a home improvement, and between always using an 18V DeWalt saw at work, and wanting to grow my personal DeWalt 20V collection, I knew this is what I needed. This saw is cosmetically similar to the 18V I have at work, with the biggest functional differences (aside from 18V to 20V) being the 4 position blade holder which allows for even closer flush cuts and a little more adjustability out of the shoe. I've pruned trees, cut all sorts of dimensional lumber, cut bolts and angle iron, aluminum flat stock, even Telespar (the square sign post with all the holes in it). May just be my mind, but seems to have a smoother cut stroke than the 18V I've used. Originally only had the 1.5Ah 20V batteries which only would last for a few dozen cuts at most, but the 4.0Ah batteries I recently purchased are great for this saw and allow me to go up to a week been charges (at least with my use), the 4.0Ah batteries also balance out the weight of the saw nicely. Just as a reminder, this is a bare tool. No batteries, no charger, no blades, just an awesome saw ready to accept your existing 20V batteries. I've used DeWalt, Milwaukee, and Bosch blades all with great success, your results may vary.

I haven't used this much, but seems well built. However, in doing two heavier jobs (some thicker steel and some wet wood), I used up the batteries very quickly; I'll plan on using my old corded saw for any heavy work and keep the cordless for light work where I can't get to a plugin.

Best power tool I have ever bought. I'm gutting a bathroom and have been using the saw for a week and still haven't had to change the battery. I've been using it mostly on wood and sheetrock, haven't tried metal yet. I did cut through tile on the wall and the sheetrock below it.

Sturdy, powerful, versatile tool. Excellent quality, typical of DeWalt. Easy to install saw blades in any of four orientations. It's not very light, but that's because it's designed as a workhorse, not an occasional shop tool. Very convenient to have several DeWalt devices that share the 20V battery.
