Yeah, my laptop is old as crap and doesn't have bluetooth built in... I recently got a Silhouette Cameo 3, which has Bluetooth connectivity. Yes, I can hard connect it to my laptop, but it's much easier for the 2 devices to talk wirelessly. This dongle works perfectly for that. The install was a bit long, but I just started it and went to eat dinner and it was all ready when I was finished. My Cameo immediately connected and I've had no issues so far. I haven't tried connecting any other Bluetooth devices to my laptop yet. For my needs, this was worth the 12 bucks and was easy enough to get up and running.

This did the trick! I was so tired of watching Netflix on my computer just to have my headphone cord get ripped out or uncomfortably tug on my ears whenever I changed positions or went to another room. That's when I decided to try and find something that would allow me to connect my wireless headphones to my computer and found this! It did exactly what I needed it to I just plugged it in and paired it with my device and viola I can now watch Netflix on my computer while I multitask and I don't have to worry about cords and tangles if I need to get up and carry my computer somewhere else! I will warn you though, this adapter is very small and easy to loose so make sure you keep track of it

I started out with one of the cheap, $4 to $5 dongles. It took a few days just to get it working with a couple mice, but not the headphones or anything else. Even then, the mouse range was only about 3 feet. I never got the dongle working on my laptop. For my desktop, it took several days of reading and trying different drivers. Both computers are Win7. One 32 bit and one 64. That cheap dongle was nothing but frustration. What a mess. I ordered this one yesterday and received it today. I guess I got lucky with the 2 day Prime shipping upgrade and I also used reward points for a little discount. I put it in my desktop, it loaded drivers and software and immediately recognized ALL my Bluetooth devices as I added them. Fast and easy. Mouse distance is at least 22'. It just works perfect for everything. Also works on my laptop. I'll try adding a screenshot to the item description.

First KINIVO should have these instruction included not 109 pages deep in review at this time by another reviewer. Many THANKS TO "AZ Buyer" - reviewer for posting in review. This works 100% for me right when I was ready to return product. FOLLOW THESE STEPS AND IT WILL WORK ON A WINDOWS 7 COMPUTER: IF YOU INSTALLED THIS SOFTWARE AND CANT GET IT TO WORK START AT STEP 1 ************************************************************************************************************ 1. Uninstall the BTD-400 driver from the Device Manger. The BTD-400 should be plugged in. 1. Locate and open Control Panel > Device Manager 2. Under the Device Manager, locate Bluetooth Radios > BCM2070 3. Right click the device, and select Properties 4. Navigate to the Driver tab, and click the Uninstall button. Be sure to check the box so the driver can be deleted from the computer. 5. Hit OK and close out of the windows when it is complete 2. Unplug the BTD-400 3. Uninstall all WIDCOMM and Bluetooth related software 4. Restart your computer 5. Install the driver from the software included on the CD. The drivers can also be downloaded from here: http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php Next, we should ensure that the Bluetooth services are running: 1. Click on the Start button and type in Services in the search box. Click on Services when it appears in the menu. 2. Locate Bluetooth Service from the list and verify that the status is Started and startup type is set to Automatic. 3. Next, locate Bluetooth Support Service from the list and verify that the status is Started and startup type is set to Automatic or Manual. 4. If not, right click the entry and select Properties. Select Automatic from the Startup type drop down list. 5. Hit Start if it is not grayed out then press OK. 6. Restart your computer and see if issues still persist after making changes. If you still can’t pair devices to your computer, the Bluetooth Support Services may not have the correct permissions set: 1. Right click on the Bluetooth Support Service and select Properties 2. Go to the Log on tab. 3. If Local System is checked, this is the source of the problem. Select This Account 4. Type in Local Service. When you click okay it will say select valid password or such. This is NOT a problem 5. Delete the password dots (a 15-dot-string) under Password and delete the string under confirm (both password boxes are now empty). 6. Click Ok. It should then tell you to Stop the service and then to Restart the service before the change takes effect. It should now work. If you’re not able to hear sound from the paired and connected headphones or speaker, they may not be set as the default playback device. Normally Windows will switch to the Bluetooth device once it’s been paired and connected, but sometimes Windows won’t do that. We can check by doing the following: 1. Right click the Volume control tray icon then select “Playback devices” from the context menu. 2. Select the Headphones (Bluetooth Hands-free Audio by left clicking the device then click “Set Default”. 3. Hit “OK” to close the window. The headphones should now play audio from your computer.

I bought this so I could use my Playstation 4 controller on my PC without the need for a USB cable and it worked flawlessly. I can confirm that this has no issues on either Windows 8, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10. No need to install anything from the included CD to use it either! ----------------------------------------- How to pair PS4 controller to PC (with bluetooth adapter): 1. Press and hold the Share button then, while still holding the Share button, press and hold the PS Button until the light on your controller starts blinking. 2. On your PC go to "Add a Bluetooth Device". 3. Find "Wireless Controller" and click pair. 4. The light on your controller will then stay lit which tells you it is connected. How to make your PS4 controller compatible with many more games (including games on Steam that have 360 Controller support): 1. Download DS4Windows from DS4Windows.com 2. Extract the zip and run the program. 3. The light on your Dualshock 4 should now turn blue. Your controller will now act as a 360 Controller which makes it work with a lot more games/emulators.

GUYS, I was about to destroy this thing after I hear the sound quality on my speaker, please search online on a fix. I can try to explain this. There is a setting on your computer that registers your Bluetooth device as a Hands Free device. If youre having ppoor sound try THIS. Type Control Panel in your seach bar on the bottom left, Find Hardware and Sound, Devices and Printers, find your device which should look like a Bluetooth headpiece icon (it was for me) RIGHT Click on it and Click Properties, Go To SERVICES and UNCHECK Handsfree Telephony!!! That option is whats making it sound horrible! Your device should turn off and disconnect. Just pair it again and There you go. Also you can search for some videos online, I cant mention names in reviews, but you know what it is.

I had received two Bluetooth speakers from Amazon: (1) Anker SoundCore Pro + and (2) Tribit XSound. I was highly disappointed when neither company's technical staff could get their product connected and working on my computer. Here was my computer setup: MacBook Pro 2009 vintage running an original OSX; Hard drive partitioned running Windows 7 on the Bootcamp side. So -- not to be too hard on your technical staff -- it was not a simple, easy situation. Neither the Anker nor Tribit technical staff had any ideas or suggestions for me, other than say my computer and operating systems were too old. So I gave up on Anker or Tribit being able to help and thought about what to do . . . quickly I explored the idea of adding a Bluetooth USB Adapter. Did research and decided on the Kinivo BTD-400 as being the best. I was unable to get it connected, BUT the Kinivo technical staff -- Robert -- was absolutely outstanding and able to get the connection accomplished. What helped was -- not only did Kinivo have extremely knowledgeable technical expertise -- but they actually had an in-house test platform they had used for product development . . . a 2009 MacBook Pro with a partitioned hard drive running Windows 7 . . . a fantastic coincidence !!! Kudos to Robert, Kinivo's patient and highly professional support staff member !!!!!

This dongle works pretty well with my QC 35, even on Win 7, except some recording issues. I would recommend this dongle for anyone having compatibility issues with the Bluetooth connection under Win 7. There are occasionally noises/cut-offs when I was using the mic of my QC 35 (recording or Skype). I tried inserting this dongle to the USB 2.0 port instead of USB 3.0, the issue got alleviated a little but not completely. Other than this, it is a solid Bluetooth adapter. If anyone has a higher requirement for the recording quality, I would suggest purchasing a wireless card w/ Bluetooth 4.0 or higher, instead of using a USB dongle. I am using a wireless card (only about $40) right now and the recording issues got completely resolved. Since recording is only a small part of Bluetooth's features, I am still giving 5 stars here.

I own several computers and use them all almost daily for different tasks (2 laptops and 1 desktop) as well as all my other various electronic toys that are a necessity in my daily life (work and personal). My only complaint to date has been my desktop which did not have Bluetooth capacity. Key words there: Did not. I ordered this teeny tiny gadget last week and since plugging it in this morning I have been happily cruising around my office seamlessly connected to everything and loving life right now. Included in the package was the dongle, a CD, and a very short instruction book. After skimming through the instructions, I decided to try to just plug in the dongle to see if it might just work by itself (no such luck on Windows 7 but hey, it was worth a gander). No problem though: Per the manual, I could insert the CD and install those drivers or download the latest drivers straight from their site (address is printed right in the book). I'm a latest and greatest girl so just a minute or two later they were downloaded and installed. Everything worked like it was supposed to and I immediately paired up my desired Bluetooth devices to my big machine and I was off running. In the end, the instructions were short, direct, and clear (both the book and website) and I had absolutely no issues with the product or drivers. I love the fact that the dongle is very small and I can just plug and forget in a back, hidden USB slot. The dongle itself seems to be built quite sturdy and materials feel to be higher quality than what the cost is for this gem. I expected to be disappointed in this purchase and in the end, am ecstatic on the end result!

The bluetoothh device works as intended(ps4 controller pairing), bu i did have an issue at first, this however is not the adapter's fault. The device works fine, no issues, low latency etc, but there are situations that can cause issues, this is true for anything bluetooth. If you have it near any type of device that can put out different types of interference, such as a wifi router or in rare cases(like mine) your computer, it may give a fairly poor signal, this is not the adapter's fault but a fault in bluetooth itself or maybe even the usb standard on some motherboards and usb hubs leaking electronic noise(somewhat of a guess, which would disrupt the bluetooth signal, but it has an easy fix if you have this problem, which worked for me, take the dongle, plug it into a usb extension cable, and put it somewhere else on your desk/tv stand, it shouldn't need to be far from the source location to fix the issue. All said i am quite happy with the device, like i said the device itself does exactly what it needs to do, and i would buy another given the need.
