is an awesome first project

This kit has everything you need, is an awesome first project, and the snowman is pretty cute. I easily finished in a weekend, and most of it was done while watching TV. If you save some of the blue, you can make him a scarf. I also used some of the floss to put a loop on his head and hang on my rear view mirror and/or use as an ornament. Happy felting!

Excellent instructions, quality materials. Perfect for beginners.

This was my first needle felting project and I loved it. The size references on the instructions were a life saver. For the price, you get the materials and the directions. I had planned to order some wool and buy downloadable directions from another site. But the cost of the download was almost as much as this product that came with the materials and tools. This was a really great intro to needle felting.

Fun and simple!

Like a lot of the other reviewers, this was my first attempt at needle felting and I found that it was a rather simple craft to take up. After having seen a few Instagram posts and watching a couple of YouTube videos, I was interested enough to give it a go myself and started with this kit. It has everything you need - wool, needle, etc. The instructions are pretty clear, but watching some videos beforehand will definitely help get a better grasp for the technique. I found my kit to be rather generous with some of the wool which is nice because I can do some experimenting on my own. As you can see from my photo I also went a bit off script with this little penguin by adding highlights to the eyes and felting the scarf flat. All in all, I'm very happy with how it turned out and I think other crafty people would enjoy this kit too!

This was my first needle felting project and it was super easy! I did not want to stitch the eyes, so I bought Darice SBE20 100-Piece Solid Black Eyes, 6mm to use instead. It turned out really cute!

My first time felting

This kit is great for beginners. It took me about 10-12 hours to complete although the front says 4-6 hours. I'm guessing I took longer because I'm a beginner. It comes with everything including a felting needle, foam, & a needle for the eyes and quills. I had leftover materials of almost everything except the dark brown wool, but that was because I didnt make the body round enough originally. & There was still plenty. The hedgehog ended about 4 inches long and 3 inches tall at the end. So, its small, but adorable.... Like a fuzzy figurine I made myself!

Super cute

These are cute little things. All the items are included to make this including the felting needle. I was a little surprised the effort it goes to in order to make one. You'll need somewhere between 4-5 hours to complete this. I ended up about 4 1/2 hours as I was a novice and this was my first felting project. As a beginner, the directions were easy to follow and I was able to turn out a solid product. I would definitely order this again and try some of the other kits.

Fun and easy project

These little wool felting projects are so much fun and easy to make! This penguin is my favorite and I plan to make several more. This kit includes everything you need to make the penguin, including a felting needle and pad, wool and directions. Nothing else is needed and it's a fun beginner's craft! The quality is apparent immediately upon opening. I usually make these projects while talking on the phone. It's amazing how much you can get done!

Meet my little friend Sam

I bought a couple of these Needle Felting animals as stocking stuffers for others. I bought Sam for myself. I have never Needle Felted before and the idea of creating a little adorable friend just by stabbing some wool repeatedly was irresistible. I have to give Sam 5 stars. His instructions were easy to follow and I would say his overall assembly was therapeutic. I did break his needle by stabbing in then turning sideways. Please note: stabbing should only be done by going out the exact same way you went in. It sounds easy enough, but the temptation to twist and turn is real and should be avoided...so should stabbing cute little animals in general. (Unfortunately, you have to say that kind of thing out loud these days.) On a happier note, Sam is cute and will make you smile. Go buy a Sam.

Really Fun Kit

I really like these little felting kits because they give you a general idea of how to felt and supply everything needed for a project including the shape and size of what you are felting on paper instructions. The needle, pad, felt and thread (cheap needle though), are all provided making it a great experience for beginning felters to accomplish something worthwhile that turns out very cool and sweet. I really like this colorful bird kit, but I loved the hedgehog kit. You can easily finish one of these projects in a weekend and they turn out very cool. Felting is an interesting hobby where you actually sculpt with wool using the barbed tool (included in the kit). This special needle (yes you will poke yourself and yes, it hurts), has barbs that fuses the wool and it's fibers together and the more you poke it, the more solidly shaped the wool becomes. These kits are an inexpensive way to find out if you'll enjoy needle felting, and chance are, you will. Really cool kits that make a nice finished product.

A good way to break into wool felting.

Great starter kit for those who are new to wool felting. I bought this for my teen who needed something to do. She likes animals. She LOVED this, I think these kits are a good way to get into this hobby. It came with everything you need to produce the Llama. I don't recommend this for young kids, but teens should be ok with it. Also, this kit came with plenty of wool so you don't have to worry about running out. I appreciate that.
