Adorable finished product!
I made this kit last fall for a neighbor with 2 young children, and it turned out to be just as adorable as the photo pictured. The kit was complete as stated, and the directions excellent. It would make an excellent gift for any household with children who believe in Santa Claus.

Excited!!!
I'm so excited to start working on this. I remember doing them way back when. My mom and I are getting back into it so it going to be so exciting to get back into my flow again.

Time consuming, but so worth it, and you can create your own pocket stuffers!
First off, I've completed 4 of these for my 4 kids and 8 grandkids. By the time I completed the 4th one, I had cut a lot of time off by doing a few things differently. 1. Gather several embroidery needles - saves a bunch of time to keep one color thread on one needle. I had a strip of heavy paper that I kept the different needles/colored thread stuck onto. Since the very small eye embroidery needle needed to attach beads is difficult to thread, this saves time to not change thread all the time 2. Sew the same sequin color on all items - e.g., all white sequins, all gold sequins, etc. before you start the project. Don't cut items out, just attach sequins and beads to uncut pieces, but I did semi-cut out all Santa items, all train items, all stocking items, etc. and kept them together. 3. Complete as much embroidery as you can ahead of time - again, do all rust embroidery, all gray embroidery etc. if you can 4. As stated by other posters, be sure to get a piece of red felt to attach the pockets onto. I attached each row horizontally by machine (it can be done by hand) and then sewed the 3-strand white embroidery vertical stitch by hand. The first calendar I made I didn't do this and had a heck off a time figuring out a way to stop the items from falling through the bottom since the bottom of the pocket wasn't attached. 5. Three of my kids wanted the dark blue piece attached at the top (like a starry sky) and one wanted the original look. Adding the blue piece gives it a more finished look and it hangs much better. The stiff white piece in the kit will almost cover the entire back if you add a blue piece at the top. I had to cut a small piece and sew on the bottom to cover the entire back 6. I didn't like that the kit came with duplicate pocket pieces. What fun is that? So I made 12 other Christmas pocket pieces. I included pictures of the ones I made. For my 3 granddaughters, I made angels and sewed their names on the bottom. Two grandsons received a round elf piece (green and red) with the corresponding color piece on the back and their name sewn on it. My 3 older grandsons each selected their own personal piece - a penguin, an elf and a snow globe. There can't be a Christmas advent calendar without Santa, a snowman, rudolf, a stocking, a wreath and a snowman, etc. We are a U of M family, so naturally I made a block M teddy bear. I copied ALL those designs from ideas posted on Pinterest. Use your imagination and personalize a few pieces. I also signed and dated the back of the calendar. 7. Other posters have stated this is time consuming, and it is!! I hope that my grandkids will enjoy this for many years to come and it will become part of their Christmas traditions. Good luck!

Can You Say That in English?
Most complicated, difficult kit I've ever done, but is also the cutest. This kit has taken two months so far, and I'm not quite finished. I've really enjoyed putting in my own touches in many areas - and that is necessary because there are some shortages of materials. However, my greatest challenge has been understanding the instructions that were apparently written in one language and transcribed to English by someone who doesn't speak English. I found myself spending a great deal of time just playing with the instructions and thinking how easy it would be to correct and rewrite them. I may send an offer to Bucilla to translate for them, since their kits would all be easier to do if someone who spoke English wrote the "English language directions".

Beautiful!
Very intense project! Started last January and just finished. I did stray from it a few months. Added a complete background to cover my stitches and used the sewing machine to make the pockets. Sewed my grandsons names on the stockings and have a third one ready for incoming baby boy in January. Added ribbon to each pocket piece so they can be used as ornaments. Put jingle bells at the bottom instead of tassels. Kit came complete, but I have extra of everything as I do these quite often. Long ago purchased glass beads from Walmart and I’m still using them.

Beautiful Advent Calendar Kit
This is BEAUTIFUL! I actually bought it as a present, not realizing that it was a KIT. When I realized that, I ended up keeping it for myself. I intend to work on it over the years so that when I eventually get married I have a beautiful advent calendar to decorate my house with. If you are crafty, I recommend buying this.

Lots of detail but end result is so worth it.
Wow. Lots and lots of pieces to cut out, appliqué, sequin, etc., but the end result is so worth it. I can only hope the friends I am sending this to can appreciate the work that went into it. I really love it! I made for my friend's daughter's family, and my daughter has requested one for Christmas of 2016.

Fun, charming, time consuming but not difficult at all!
I love this project! I am having so much fun putting this together. It is extremely time consuming but it’s not difficult at all! It’s adorable and all the little pieces are so charming:) I have “messed up” a couple places but it was very easy to hide the mistake. The felt itself is very forgiving and easy to adjust even after it’s appliquéd to the base.

Important to follow directions in numerical order.....
I have made two of these Bucilla advent calendars now for gifts. As in all Bucilla felt kits, it is vitally important to follow the instructions in numerical order. My method is to work on these in the evening before bedtime - They take quite a long time to complete; but our daughters do cherish them. I gave them only three stars for "easy to assemble." It is not that they are inordinately difficult to assemble and Bucilla prepares accurate instruction sheets; but I still would not suggest that these are "easy to assemble." The kits are time consuming and you must be cautious to follow directions carefully.
