Rock On!!

Very cool product. My daughter is not quite 3, so she is not old enough to play the actual game but she loves the rocks!!! We gave it to her last night and she has already learned to identify the majority of them and to say the names. Very good learning tool and she loves looking at all the different rocks. Great combination of learning and entertainment. She likes to lay out all the cards and match the big rocks.

I loved these kits

I loved these kits. I wish you would have offered the number I needed. I had to purchase in ebay the remaining 23 kits I needed, at a higher price, because amazon only let me buy 3. Though I could see that you had 20 plus, when I typed 26 kits at the moment of checkout it only allowed me to buy 3, though I could see that more than 20 were available. It is a pity since I had to spend an extra 5 dollars for each additional kit on ebay. I highly recommend this rock kit, I love how the kids can carry it everywhere and specially that they can see clearly the name and picture of each rock, this is fantastic for a collector. I used these kits to teach different rock types during a Junior Geologist Camp. The kids took home these kits to kick start a rock collection of their own. Great product.

I think this is a bit overpriced still, I paid about $26.00, however I am giving it five stars because my five year old son is just obsessed with his new rock collection. He loves to show everyone and pick out his favorite rocks. He also uses them with his construction trucks when he is playing construction. He is interested in learning about the different types of rocks and their names. This is really educational, and I can use it in my classroom someday too.

This was a great idea!

Every educator should have this game for kids, and parents are the most important educators. This was a great idea!! I really appreciate that this family worked hard to make this game available to others! We learned cool new facts from playing this and we really enjoyed it!! The identification cards trained us well! I also got a box of Dancing Bear Rocks and Minerals for the kids to sort through after we played the great Rock On game and they loved all of this!! Would you consider making an additional game that includes tests for identifying rocks (hardness scale, etc.) with specimens that you have already positively identified so kids can test themselves and also have an answer key (maybe the ID page answers require those red cellophane glasses to read the hidden answer). Highly recommend Rock On!

Great Purchase

This was a great purchase. It was a gift for my daughter, and I am impressed with the product. I got it primarily for the rock collection inside, which is beautiful, but it turns out that she enjoys the game, as well. The insert inside the product explains that it is made by a small family business in the USA. I'm happy to support companies like this.

Rock on Rocks!

What a great game.... but it is not just a game.. it is a learning experience and a way to introduce your children to geology and the beauty and amazing parts of nature that we often miss. There is a reason it is one of Amazons top selling Geology games.. and that is because it is real.. you learn.. and you play.. such a good combination. I bought this for one of my grandsons that is just getting interested in rocks and has a small bag of rocks that he plans on getting polished... so the interest is there already and I think this will help him along. His mom encourages him in spending time with non computer/tv related games.. so he is a busy boy with all the discoveries he makes along the way. Best Rock Kit I Have Ever Seen!

I don't normally have the time to review a product, but I had to come back and review Rock On! I got this for my three year old son for Christmas and decided on this kit because it advertised to be more than just a box of rocks. And it is! It is an amazing lot of so many different rocks and polished stones. And it is also a game. We have had so much fun identifying the rocks and stones and I can already tell that it will be used and played with for many years. My older kids also love it! And I love that everything fits very nicely into the hard plastic case. It is more than worth the money paid for this product and I plan to buy this again as a gift. Love it!

For the novice – beginner - like myself

Great purchase, though

I bought this for the rocks and minerals more than for the game itself. Great purchase, though. The rocks included in this set are larger than those in most rock kits. They are a good addition to any child's rock collection.

Great quality stones and container

Our seven-year-old daughter was uncertain when she opened this gift, but quickly got excited when she saw all of the stones that came with it. The storage container is a great quality and we are pleased with all the different varieties of stones that came with the game. She will sometimes just line up the stones or group them by color or size and we are overall pleased with this gift for our budding geologist!
