The product performs as expected. Great product, outstanding price. Why would anyone spend the exorbitant prices charged by CanonNikon for these parts. This is my second ring I purchase from Vello. One I used on my prime EF200mm f2.8L USM, the lens advertised for this ring, and the second for my EF70-200mm f4L IS USM; not advertised by Vello. The fit is perfect aesthetically and functionally. I would buy more from Vello, but they do not make for a couple of other lon lenses I own.

VERY solid, a perfect fit

Recently I purchased a Canon 200mm F2.8 L MKII lens, which has a place on the lens for a collar but does not include the collar. Canon wants a ridiculous amount for their collar for this lens, so I began to seek alternatives. I looked at crappy knock offs for cheap on a site everyone knows which begins with E, but they were all a combination of poorly fitting and poorly constructed. I had purchased a TTL cable made by Vello previously and it was incredibly high quality for the price, so I decided to trust the brand again with this tripod collar. It is an absolutely perfect fit, and the construction is equal to that of the one produced by Canon at 1/3 of the price. I highly recommend this collar if you want to get a quality product at a more reasonable price.

Exceptional quality, very sturdy.

I purchased this collar for the Canon 200mm f/2.8L prime lens. I have not handled the Canon version of this collar before, but I cannot imagine the build quality being any better.... and this one is significantly cheaper. I've bought third party battery grips, batteries, flashes, etc. and usually feel like I'm cheeping out, but not with this collar. VERY well made, all metal construction. It fits the lens perfectly. The finish also matches the finish on the lens. Very happy with this collar.

Good Alternative to Canon's version.

I use this on Canon's EF 200mm f/2.8L II USM prime telephoto. Perhaps this is not as well made as Cannon's official tripod collar but it works perfectly for my needs and is significantly less costly. The collar's inside is covered with a soft fluffy material so as to not scratch the lens barrel and hold the lens securely under tension. Loosening the lock knob a little allows the lens to rotate for landscape vs portrait framing.

Great tripod foot for the $

Very high quality fit and finish. I was worried given its price vs the OEM but once i held it and installed and used it, zero worries. Very happy with it.

Fits my 200mm 2.8L perfectly. Very solid. Easy to take on and off. Only takes light tightening of the knob to fully secure the lens and camera from rotating. Purposely rotating the camera is also easy and doesn't require much turning of the knob. Has a soft lining so it won't damage the lens. I can't see any reason to spend 3 times as much on the Canon brand.
