It's delightful painting with this brush! Feels so good in the hand, and the small size of the brush makes this keep its shape more than I'd expect from a squirrel brush. Holds water well, has a nice point and a plump belly. This is an amazing brush for the price! Get it while you can at this low price. It's more than worth it! I have a small Isabey travel squirrel brush. I thought that since it was such a small brush it somehow necessarily sacrificed quality. Not so! This brush is very well made. Not a travel brush, but it has become my go-to brush when working on smaller pieces. I've included two photos. One when it is dried naturally, and another when wet. I have three of these. One of the brushes came to me damaged. I found it hard to believe that a paint brush, particularly with soft hair, would be mailed without any protection. The brush was pressed against the box so that the hair had an L shape to it. I thought it was ruined, but luckily I was able to get it back into its proper shape and working for me as it should. One of the advantages this brush has over other squirrel hair brushes I have is that the hairs are arranged perfectly, with a plump belly and a sharp tip. Being that it is small in length, the brush keeps its shape more than my larger squirrel hair brushes. It performs perfectly, and better than I expected. The way it holds its shape seems halfway toward what you'd get from a sable brush and the usual squirrel hair brush. I've never had one work so well for me than this one. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I bought this initially thinking it was a little on the pricey side, but holy cow I was wrong. This brush single handedly improved the look of my paintings- and helped me feel a little more in control as a newbie at watercolor. I absolutely love it and will buy a LOT more in varying sizes. It holds water for DAYS compared to any other brush I’ve used, yet it doesn’t dump it all out at once. It’s hard to describe, but I will recommend these brushes until the day I die.

I don’t know how I lived without this brush in my life!! It’s amazing! So soft! It holds tons of water and paint! I can get every size stroke you can think of! Amazing purchase!! It really does make the difference in my art!!

April 2020 Update: I’m so impressed and grateful for the very well packaged and perfect condition of the items I’ve recently ordered that I came here to say Thank you! So I’d like to update my earlier review. The Da Vinci CosmoTop F size 6 arrived in a separate box with air bags on top to prevent it from banging around... it was new and had a point protector. No damaged tip. Appreciate it! The F brush series is nice and firm and I find myself reaching for one of these brushes. The B series is also good and pleasant to work with. The squirrel hair means a nice sharp point and excellent water holding. I’m not a fan of the somewhat bulky CosmoTop handles, but this mix series is decent and more affordable than pure sable WC brushes. I’m glad I gave the size 6 one more try.:) Older review: Okay, I have some Da Vinci brushes in both B and F mix series and they are of decent quality... But this particular one in size 6 arrived with a slightly bent tip! I thought I could fix it or it would get better overtime ... nope. I didn’t want to return it since I used it... So I tried to use it but noticed the “ability to hold a fine point” of other brushes... And now I know how important that is! I later trimmed this brush and made an “erazer/lifting” brush :) (But I can do that with my cheap bristle brushes as well). So yeah, it’s nice if your brush arrives all intact. I must say that over time the other brushes came in good overall condition.

I just love this price for my watercolor washes it holds so much water and I’ll be honest with you as a novice at water coloring I find that I have a pretty good control with this brush – I didn’t get a huge one because I don’t do huge paintings but I do love the way that I can do one layer it and let it dry am at another if I like and I feel like I have the birth control with this and is just a wonderful feeling and I think that these da Vinci bushes if you ever watch the video of how they’re made you will see the quality of the workmanship that goes into each and every brush – I can’t say more I suggest everyone watch the YouTube video on How these are made I would give them 10 stars if I could

I’m self learning to watercolor and saw this brush in a video made by an artist that I follow on Instagram (mylittlebasil.studio). I instantly fell in love with the trace and I wanted to try it out! Found it on sale on Amazon (19$) and I’m so happy to have it. It really makes a difference when you are painting. I hope to learn how to properly use it as my road to watercolor continues.

The way this brush holds paint/water is magical. Don't think twice in this one. I posted a photo of a lemon I started just now.

I'm obsessed with this brush. This was my first non- synthetic brush and I'm so glad I made this purchase. It hold so much water/paint and absorbs so much!

What a great brush!! This is my first time to review a product. My husband bought it for me after I had picked it out. I am an intermediate water colorist and have most of my brushes inherited from my mother. Other brushes have been from local craft stores. I knew after I read information on the importance of a few good brushes that I needed to upgrade some. This brush holds water well and keeps it shape. I have used it a number of times now and I cannot believe the difference it makes. Great product!

I really enjoy this brush, it was a bit daunting but I started using a popular online skill course and these brushes are used in the courses I’ve been taking. I was worried about if I would be able to handle the brush well or not. It’s so versatile and easy to manage. It’s very light and the handle is thin, so I was worried. It is great though! Holds pigment and water really well which means I can work faster due to the decrease in trips to my palette. I’m currently practicing expressive watercolor techniques as it’s something I’ve struggled with but feel confident this brush will help me work faster and have lighter and more whimsical strokes. Picture is compared to a size 6 round to the DaVinci 3/0 quill.
