Best scorpion hunting light I've found!

I live in an area that has a lot of scorpions. After getting stung in my house I started using a blacklight to check for them. I have tried several UV flashlights and this is the only one that is powerful enough for me to see them from 50+ feet away. The pic shows a close up of a scorpion, but I actually spotted it from the other side of the yard.

Be prepared...

Got this for bed bugs. I don't see a huge difference from a regular flashlight as it pertains to finding them. On another note, wow, this thing shows everything else! You think things are clean until you shine this thing on them! The best was when I shone it on the steps and saw every bit of the milkshake I had spilled last week! Haha. We cleaned it up well and the carpet looked great...yeah, not so much! It does work great for that but I did not have success with finding bed buds.

We just adopted a 10 year old dog that's having a little bit of a hard time learning not to pee in the house. There was a spot in my room that I couldn't seem to find, so this UV flashlight has been very useful for finding urine and other types of stains. I'm very surprised how powerful this little thing is. The stains show through very well during the day, even with sunlight. The build quality seems very good too. It's all metal, and has a good weight to it.

DON'T FORGET THE CAR MECHANICS - PERFECT LIGHT FOR DETECTING CAR LEAKS!

I've tried a number of these types of UV flashlights over the last few years. They're either cheaply made, or the LED's are "on this side of violet" making them less than useful when detecting things in the UV spectrum. This flashlight appears to use LED's that are closer to 390-395nM. The build of the item is okay; it's not a "Maglite" but then again doesn't carry that price tag either. Detecting anything like urine works very well as others have reported. One area where this light is perfect is locating leaks on a vehicle. There are a number of "UV glow" additives one can purchase on Amazon as well as your local auto supply store. These can be added to engine oil, transmission fluid, radiator anti-freeze and air conditioner. Once added, a leak is easily identified using a UV light. Typically they may offer a "fluorescent tube black-light"; these are less than effective when crawling around under a vehicle. This flashlight is super bright (with fresh batteries) and will easily locate the source of leaks. Speaking of batteries, this is one area this light could use improvement. After extended use, say 20 minutes, the batteries get very warm. This is an indication that the LED's are drawing substantial current. At a conservative 20mA per LED, this light is drawing just over 1A. Continuous use will quickly kill these batteries. I prefer the new red Duracell "Quantum" cells; these offer longer life than a standard alkaline battery.

It works.

This thing really works. I must also report that I now need to move. Kids and pets will be left behind - I mean how does stuff get on the walls??? I will now live in a hard plastic dwelling by myself where all surfaces can be sanitized. Kidding aside, if you have pets and kids, you will be amazed and disgusted. I suggest only using it in areas you think your pet might be utilizing so you know where to clean. DO NOT use it to do a broad sweep of your house and NEVER go into your kids' bathroom. Some things you just don't want to know and it really isn't worth ruining the relationship you have with your kids. Some things just cannot be unseen.

How much do I like it? I bought a second one

Unfortunately I currantely have a bed bug problem. This light has a bright wide beam to locate those suckers. It has a heavy duty aluminum body - no cheap plastic stuff. How much do I like it? I bought a second one, cause I like it! At a reasonable price.

I love this thing!

This is one of those tools you buy....and then you wonder how you ever got along without it! I use it for everything! This particular model works well. Its sturdy and bright enough for my uses. Strong switch that won't turn on or off by accident. I was looking to buy a house and needed it to see the extent of cat pee damage....but I didn't buy the house and now I have this great light! I use it around the house to find bugs....I wash the bath tub with this light in one hand and a sponge in the other....it shows exactly where the soap scum is and isn't. Love it!

Works great for finding "problem" cat urine problems....

This works perfectly. Not knowing enough about how these work, I purchased one that had too little power to show the "urea crystals" found in cat urine and thus, couldn't see what I purchased it for. This model has the necessary power and I've been able to find where my sick cat was going outside the box and was able to clean the area properly to eliminate the odor. This works.

It works, I found several scorpions hidden around the house, but they cannot hide anymore I guess...

Good.. But bad

This this shows you all kinds of stuff, including what you don't want to see. Very effective. From the ownership of this flashlight, I have developed a motto: if you love something, do not shine a UV light on it.
