• Motor craft CX2409 VALVE ASY
  • Quantity Pack is 1 Each.

2014 Explorer P0456 Code. Cleaned tank nozzle a few times, but kept throwing P0456. Finally decided to buy the valve, and yep, it was stuck open. You can check if valve is good while on engine...disconnect electrical connector and disconnect hose, and check for vacuum. There should be no vacuum on the hose side if connector is removed (solenoid should be closed). See picture I took. Installed new one in about 5 minutes, that is after I found it and took off the engine dust covers. New part is exact match for old one removed. Suggest putting a bit of silicon grease on both o-ring and other connection. Hose that goes on valve also has an o-ring, so a thin film of o-ring lube makes everything nice and slippery. Happy motoring!

Great replacement for the OEM purge valve on my 2013 Ford Taurus. It took less than 5 minutes to remove the old purge valve and replace it with this. It's been a week since I replaced the valve and I haven't had any issues, no check engine light, no delayed acceleration, and better gas mileage.

For less $ than a 3rd party equivalent locally, this part worked perfectly to fix a P1450 on my 2013 Explorer 3.5 V6. 10 minutes to replace, including fishing out the bolt that I dropped into the engine bay :/

This will cost up to $200 to put in someplace. The cost of the unit is $24 and it installs in 7 minutes, I timed it. You need an 8mm socket and that's it. Look on youtube. I don't do that much myself on my truck any longer but this one was a no brainer. When you take the old one out suck or blow into one of the vents. If it allows air to go through it's not working. You'll see what I mean as if you do the same thing to the new one it will allow no air to pass. The electrical connection should be the only thing that will open this valve.

After all my research, this purge valve does not fit my van. I went to Ford Parts and had them look up the correct part by VIN. They had some in stock, I installed the right one, and the van is happy once more. I'll be returning this item to Amazon. Because of the safe return at Kohl"s this isn't a big deal. I still appreciate Amazon for finding it for me, even though it fits seemingly every Ford but mine.

Fixed my poor starting problem on my Ford Edge after gassing up. I had a check engine light come on, pulled the codes... both banks to rich. After some searches and correlating the fill up issue with the rich banks I found this was likely the culprit. Ran the tests for the evap system which indicated failure. Put this is and voila, no more errors and the first fill-up after no poor starting characteristics. The Ford IDS EVAP test passed as well.

Cleared the code and I have replaced defective part with OEM replacement CX-2409 from Amazon. I have driven 300 miles and the code has not been triggered. Before replacing this part, once the code was cleared, it would reappear quickly. Product arrived in OEM Motorcraft packaging.

We have a 2012 Ford Explorer. This thing had issues at the pump! We would fill the tank and it would stutter and crank for the longest time (causing people to stare) LOLL. EVERY TIME. Sure enough the boss said to fix it and I am glad I found this piece. Took maybe 10 minutes to replace fully and close the lid, haven't had issues since. If you are having the same issues with this model car, I urge you to get this piece first, before taking it to the stealership !

This was the culprit to our 2013 Ford Edge hesitating while starting. You could hear the engine cycle twice to start and hesitated to get started. This was especially symptomatic when starting the Edge after filling up the tank. After replacing this part, it starts great. My only tip is to not push hard on the little clip on the harness that connects to the stem. I had to use a small zip tie to hold it in place; because without the little clip it would slide right off.

Thank you internet community as I became my own mechanic replacing this part. I searched for the issue I was having online (2012 Ford Edge Limited would start choppy or stall altogether only after an initial filling) and the universal response was that I needed to replace this part and that it was very easy. Sure enough, it was. Part arrived on time and I installed in 10 minutes. Can't imagine how much a Ford dealership or local mechanic would have charged me for parts and labor.
