I used my label maker and labeled all 50 of my square-foot garden plants
Love these! I used my label maker and labeled all 50 of my square-foot garden plants. Looks really elegant and I'm looking forward to the copper aging over time. The clear labels are sticking to the copper really well. We've had thunderstorms and severe heat already and none of the labels are coming off.

My growing garden needed these!!!
I transplanted about 80 Iris rhizomes after expanding my garden and I was tired of not remembering after the blooms faded which Iris was which. These stakes are going to be a lifesaver when I go to thin out my growing Iris collection. It seems that I have a lot of the same kinds of Iris over and over in different sections of my garden so I now have a reason to buy new Iris varieties and use these stakes to mark them. I used a regular Sharpie to write the names and descriptions on each stake, so there isn't a need for a fancy or specialized pen. Another plus is the ability to remove the writing and reuse them. (I read a review that it is possible to change the writing by removing marker ink with acetone). If needed I will try that. I couldn't find these anywhere in my town and I've looked for a long time. The only ones I could find were in a gardening catalog and they were twice the price. These were a very good bargain in my opinion. If you need stakes these would be a perfect fit for any garden. I plan on buying more as my garden grows. ( I purchased the GardenMate 25-Pack 10.5'' Metal Plant Label BANNER) Update: I couldn't find acetone in my garage (hubby was gone fishing and I was impatient) so I used denatured alcohol to try to get permanent marker off the stakes I had messed up on. It worked fairly well. There is faint writing left behind but new writing covers it well. I will update again when I use acetone. AND I already ordered more. Second update: The sharpie didn't work as well as I'd hoped so I went to printing labels. They are already drying off as well. I live in a very hot in summer/cold in the winter climate and am discouraged since it's barely spring and the tags are already going bad. They will never last through 90-100 degree summers coming. So, what to do? I am debating on using a Krylon clear coat or UV protective spray of some kind to increase longevity. Or I will go with a glow in the dark spray just for fun and redo the labels as they fall off. LOL Either way I'll keep updating my review. NOTE: The metal tags themselves are doing great!

Great product, I highly recommend!
I received these little gems about 2 days after ordering! Permenant marker would work fine on the copper plate (really just a thin sheet of copper, which is perfect for this application), but make sure to wipe the surface off with alcohol to remove any oils. I wanted a more structured look so I printed homemade labels onto a clear plastic sheet (peel n stick window decal sheet) and just cut them out and slapped them on (after cleaning each one with denatured alcohol). These are the perfect size for my plant beds and are just showy enough to b noticeable but don't detract from the beauty of the plants. See the pics, they turned out beautifully and I'm ready for my next batch....Great product, highly recommend!

Perfect garden markers
I wasn't sure about these prior to ordering but something my wife wanted. These appeared to be the same thing Burpee sells, but less expensive and free shipping so we gave it a shot. The metal plates are lightweight and easy to assemble. What you really need to do is print on some clear adhesive labels from your computer and adhere that to the metal plate. We had some Avery labels (80/sheet) that worked really well with an inkjet printer. I figure we'll be lucky to get one season out of the clear labels but the metal plate should last much longer. Since we use these for vegetables and "non-specimen" items, that is more than sufficient for us as we'd be rotating things anyway. That being said, we had a hard rain where I figured the printed label would smear, fall off, or otherwise have issues and it did not. This would not be the fault of the GaredenMate product but the reality was it hasn't been an issue yet anyway.

Good stakes
These are great! I cannot wait to attach my labels--planning to use foam backed double-sided tape. Hopefully that will allow the labels to remain in place through our hot summers and cold winters. I ordered 11.5" stakes. They were easy to assemble, though I did use gloves since the metal was sharp and had some bit of metallic dust.

Love these garden labels
I love these garden labels. I stamped mine and then soaked them in vinegar and salt to weather them a bit. I love the way they turned out!! They look nice in my garden.

REAL COPPER labels that look GREAT in the garden!!
LOVE these copper plant labels. they were VERY easy to use, label and look very attractive. I used Elmer's Painters Opaque Paint Marker, Fine Tip, Black to write on them, and just had to let the ink dry for a minute or two, so that it wouldn't smudge, then it was PERFECT! The copper label is 2 11/16" wide by 1". The copper label is curled around the post, so you don't have to attach it., and is very sturdy. The whole post measures 10" tall. They ARE real copper, so be warned, if you get your finger prints on them, your finger prints WILL corrode the metal and will show! After you get them printed, it might be a good idea to put some clear coat over it, to seal it in AND protect it from your own finger prints later......

Just What I was Looking For!
I am very excited about my new garden markers! I needed quite a few and wanted some that were taller as many of my plants grow pretty bushy and I wanted to be able to see the garden markers easily. These were really affordable for a pack of 25 and I like that they are much taller than many of the others I looked at. The copper writing surface is really nice looking in the garden. PROs: beautiful copper color in the garden; easy to push into the dirt and feels like it will hold up to wind and elements well; tall enough to stand out in the garden, but also easy to push down deeper and adjust height if wanted; great price. I was a bit concerned that they didn’t come with a marker to write on them like many of the other similar products out there do. But I was easily able to write on them using a black Sharpie that I already had and I think that it turned out nicely. Also, I created a test one that I left for about 24 hours and then used rubbing alcohol to remove the writing and it came off quickly, easily, and completely. I am happy to find this as it means I’ll be able to reuse them if I want to change the plant name and, if I make a mistake, I don’t have to throw away the whole marker. CONs: there were some irregularities in the group, they didn’t all look exactly the same. The metal on most of these was smooth and flat with a nice even copper color, but there were some that had some irregularities. Some had some odd bends in the metal, or slight color variations, etc. I will post a photo of the one that seemed the most pronounced. However, this didn’t affect my enjoyment of this product. They are going to be outside, they will probably look increasingly different from each other over time, so a few irregularities at the outset doesn’t make any difference to me. I saw that some people used metal stamps to permanently press the plant names that they wanted into the metal. I think that would be an even lovelier use for these markers, but for a fast, affordable plant marking solution, I think that using simple permanent marker on these worked great!

Very professional and clean!
I love these label stakes! I ordered these to keep track of my ever expanding hosta garden. I used my Brother Label Maker in conjunction with these stakes to make the labels even better looking. The size of these metal labels are perfect - not too large, not too small. They do not overwhelm or outshine the plants when placed next to them. They are easy to assemble, and very weather resistant...even with the Brother labeling tape. They look very professional and uniform. I would recommend these plant labels to any avid gardener or anybody who likes to collect plants or interesting cultivars.

High Quality Mini Plant Name Plates
I got the mini metal plant name plate as these will stay close to the ground and allow your plant to take center stage. They are made in Germany and are sturdy - heavy gauge metal "U" stake. The name plates comes separate and you have to assemble - easy. If you want to use with taller plants, such as day lilies, I would suggest the taller size they sell. I am happy with these as they grip the ground well, and perhaps stay put when my husband starts spring clean up and weeding! I read the tip by another buyer to use nail polish remover to clean off old marker labeling. This seller provided their own very helpful authentic photos in their description. Great communication with seller! Thank you!
