Recently updated Windows 7 Updated computer to Windows 10 computer works Great the printer is 12 feet away in in another room on the other side of a wall shared by 2 computers no or none of the automatic share USB switches barely work You end up having to use them as and a MB switch and manually switch the printer to where you want. But this is easier Don't have to push any buttons. Both computers are Windows 10 one computer is hooked up via USB the other computer is hooked up with this cable Parallel to USB and also using Amazon Basic e Extension cable listed below. The printer works great the printer is a Kyocera FS-820 has a USB connection and parallel connection using Both connections At the same time. Oh also it is best you plug the USB directly into the computer and Not and Through None power USB hub that is connected to the computer Because THE computer may Not recognize the printer that's through a non powered hub we haven't tried to that powered supplied hub plugged into the computer we only noticed it wouldn't work through a USB hub.. We use this extension cable it is below is a 3.0 It's backwards compatible to USB 2.0 the computer we have a connect to doesn't have any 3.0 USB ports and it still works great.... https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Extension-Cable-Male-Female/dp/B00NH12O5I/ref=gp_aw_ybh_a_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=MQDWPZZVMGKJ418C9YEX Thank you

I sent this back because it was not working with my computers, After reading about other that used cables just like this I found out that you can make this change and it should work with almost any printer! So to turn off bidirectional support you have to open up: Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers > (Right click on your printer) Printer Properties > Ports > (Uncheck) bidirectional support. This is what I had to do and I tested it on 2 computers and 1 0client at work and after making this change it works great without any problems.

Had an old HP laserjet 4300 with only a parallel and Nic connection. I was very skeptical but took a chance. This adapter was literally plug and play. I'm so happy with the purchase. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone in the same situation as myself. No B.S. This only for Manly Men.

This thing worked instantly! As soon as I plugged it into my win10 machine, the drivers were installed and a port was created for this device. My only other step was to install generic text drivers for it and I was able to print to it in no time. Every feature on the printer worked, including the cash register signaling and the cut paper signal. Overall, I delayed paying 200 bucks for a new receipt printer by another 2 years by paying about 6 bucks for this cable! Totally worth it!

Connected laptop to HP Laserjet 4000 printer - worked perfectly!

Did exactly what I needed it to with very little hassle. Just had to download drivers for my (very) old printer and it was up and running in no time!

This cable works like champ. Kept me from buying a new printer. If you have a old printer with no way to hook it up,this is the way to go.

Used on an old hp4000 laser.
