I have 3 daughter's & we all have long hair so our drains get clogged up pretty often. I bought ft he FlexiSnake Millipede because of the reviews I saw & it definitely lived up to my expectations. This tiny unassuming thing is absolutely Amazing the amount of hair it pulled of of my drain was unbelievable! It looks like it can't do much but wow... believe me it pulled out what looked like a small rat from my bathtub drain & i was amazed, shocked & a little horrified! Some reviewers said you can't reuse it but it actually gives directions for cleaning & reusing on the back. I was able to clean and reuse twice. You just use a toothbrush and brush downward & the hair comes right off. I personally recommend using gloves with this product because things get really gross really fast!!!

This is a great tool for removing hair from drains. The snake is like a large pipe cleaner and can be bent to any shape. The flexible snake is about 20 inches in length and has a sleeve on it so you can spin the snake down the drain and to grab the hair in the drain. Can be used in the shower and also bathroom sink. The snake has a bunch of prickly ends making it easy to grab whatever is in the drain. The snake is long enough that it can reach down to the p trap. I tried it on both the bathroom sink and the shower drain and couldn't believe how much hair I removed from both drains. This to me is a better method then pouring draino down the drains and also a lot cheaper. It can be cleaned and used over and over. This is a great alternative to keep your drains open and working properly.

Okay yeah - you know who you are if you watch those videos. But I digress... we moved into an OLD complex and the maintenance people are busy repairing AC units from the 70's so the chances of our bathroom drains being fixed anytime soon was zero. I was sick of seeing my toothpaste and face wash scummy up my sink (my husband could care LESS about his, hint hint honey), but the crap I pulled out of my drain. So satisfying, yet... blech. It took less than 5 seconds. I have a toddler. That's basically GOLD in my book. But don't try to reuse or even try to clean this thing. It's gross and at the price you can just order another. My drain now happily does it's job!

Over the last few weeks, we noticed our shower drain getting slower and slower. I was getting pretty tense about standing water sloshing over the rim of the shower pan onto the bathroom floor, and this product had stellar reviews, so after trying several other methods, I gave in and ordered it. I had previously tried chemicals (which just left things like Drano then sitting in the shower) and a product somewhat similar to this- a plastic strip with serrations down the sides. The strip didn't really fit into the nooks and crannies of the drain. This product, however, worked so well I was actually startled. I practiced it on our bathroom sink first, and little to no buildup came out. I didn't know it I just was lucky and my sink was fine, or I'd just wasted $5.00 on another "miracle product" that didn't work. I crouched over the shower drain (without bothering to remove the drain cap, as I should have), poked the wire through a hole in the cover, twisted it until it could go no further, and gave it a sharp tug. The gigantic bolus of hair that came free not only popped off the drain cover (I had to grab a pair of scissors and cut the cover free), but was so large I wondered how my husband and I still have hair on our heads. I was so amazed that I wished I'd had the forethought to keep my phone nearby, to take a photo of the creature I pulled free from the drain. I tried to free the drain snake from the mucky hair blob, but I just gave up and tossed the ensnared device in the trash along with the hair, and will order another one. This is truly an amazing product that works just as promised.

The drain cover on my shower is **set in**! Contractor slathered some cement-like mixture all around the top of the cover (holes aren't not covered, but I'd have to chip it out...probably w/ power tools of some kind). I.e. There was no way to get anything larger than this in through the grates to remove the hair I could see, and was making the shower 'flood' after a minute or two. It's like pipe cleaner, but w much more abrasive plastic bristles. Not sure why they picture it looped, as it won't help anyone like that. It needs to be mostly straight, and then it will bend (maybe explaining the photo) as needed in the pipes. This is relatively light-weight in every sense, though. It's a precision instrument of sorts, designed to get at what other physical--non chemical-- tools can't. I had great results after using it to pull out a bunch of hair once, and plan to get more. After 5-7 pipe scrape-outs, the bristles were completely saturated w/gunk. Water finally was going down the way it should. Conceivably, you could do serious cleaning and re-use. But at this price, one (or two) tools per clog seems easier/cleaner, etc.

I tried every drain cleaner known to mankind in an attempt to clear my bathtub's drain and nothing worked. Seriously dudes, NOTHING worked. After reading the reviews on this I figured what the heck, let's give it a try. I wore elbow length rubber gloves and a medical face mask; I was ready for battle (I highly recommend you do this as well because the splash back is REAL and it smells of demon butt). After shoving it down the drain just once the most god-awful-looking sea monster of a stinky hair clump came out. I did it about a dozen more times until no more hair monsters came up. I turned on the faucet and that sound of water finally draining through the pipes was like angels singing the Hallelujah choir. That pipe is CLEAR, my dudes! I can finally take showers again without feeling like I'm standing in a goopy stank pond!

For years I've been punching holes "through" debris with my traditional wire snake but not cleaning debris. Thanks to this gadget, removing gunk and debris is no longer a problem. I admittedly was sckeptical when reading about this tool on Amazon but I purchased one anyway. Now I'm a believer and have the photo to prove it. The tube of gunk I extracted with this little wonder was so big I called my wife in to show her what was lurking below the sink she uses. See photo (view this gross gunk at your own risk). A picture is worth a thousand words. Highly recommended!

After reading both the positive and negative reviews about this product, I decided to spend the seven bucks and give it a shot. My showers were rapidly turning into unwanted baths, and after five minutes I'd be standing in ankle-deep water. I'd tried Liquid Plumr and Drano, and they seemed to help a bit, but I couldn't find anything that would clear the drain completely. After receiving the FlexiSnake, I was dubious. It is essentially a piece of flexible wire wrapped in hook velcro. It feels pretty flimsy, and I was worried that I'd made a bad purchase. I gave it a shot anyway, and fed it down the drain of the tub. I was amazed at what it pulled out! Gobs of hair from what was probably years ago, over and over again. I kept inserting it until just a little past when it stopped, and kept pulling out more and more gunk. When all was said and done, I had a clean, free flowing drain. A couple suggestions/notes: - If you have the ability to remove the drain cap to make the drain opening as unobstructed as possible, do it. This will make the job a lot less time consuming. - The FlexiSnake was only about 14" inches long. If the obstruction is deep inside the drain, you'd be better off disassembling the pipe at the J-Bend and getting at the clog from there. - I've used this on four separate occasions, and have had success with it each time. Clean it after each use by pulling off the hair from the FlexiSnake and rinse it under hot water. I see no reason that this can't be used over and over again, with proper cleaning. Again, it's just like hook velcro, so cleaning it is just like pulling stray hairs from that, just on a larger (and ickier) scale. I had no problem cleaning it after each use, so I'm not quite sure why other reviewers had such trouble. - You could certainly buy a professional drain auger for at least three times the price, and it would get the job done as well. However, if you don't know what you're doing with that, you have the potential to damage the bathroom fixtures or pipes. A hard metal snake can easily scratch and ding drain rings and sinks. An easy 5 star rating for me.

I tried every home remedy and liquid drain cleaner that I could find. Dumped baking soda or baking powder, maybe both, and vinegar down the drain. My roommate who is usually the home improvement guru used a toilet plunger--gross. The plunger would solve the problem for one or two days max, then back to standing water. Nothing was fixing our bathroom drain issues in the sink AND the tub. The tub was getting so bad that it was dangerous to stand in the shower because the gross scum buildup made the tub so slippery. After I'd step out of the shower, I'd separately rinse my feet with soap and water, then step onto the tile. I was showering at the gym, rather than at home. I'm getting bad memories thinking about this and thinking about all the ways having a drain that doesn't work impacts your life. Then I ordered this. I was convinced we were going to have to hire a plumber to rip out the whole bathroom to find the problem. We dealt with these horrible drain issues for months. I took this thing out of the packaging and immediately was unimpressed. I don't know what I imaged, but the "legs" are so small, you can hardly see them. It feels cheap. I've never solved a drain problem before. I think that I followed a youtube video and inserted this thing into the drain, terrified that it would get caught on something and then my landlord would be pissed. I inserted this thing as far as it would go, I was unable to do a 360ยบ circle with the tool. I slowly pulled it out of the drain and.... I could not believe - it didn't get stuck and all the disgusting gross crap that came out of the sink drain!!!!! I should have been wearing a rain suit with a SCUBA mask and I definitely should have moved our toothbrushes away from the splatter I wasn't expecting. Gross. I reinserted this thing back into the sink drain about 5x. I used gloves to scoop up the gunk into a trash bag. I repeated this process in the bathtub drain, using the same FlexiSnake. I could not believe what and how much came out. I sent photos to my roommates so they would think I was a genius who spent hours fixing this problem and they'd be grateful and buy me dinner. But, honestly, it took about 5 minutes. (shhhh) After using this, I spent an hour thoroughly cleaning the tub and sink. We waited far too long to solve that drain problem. Then I took a long shower, spending most of the shower looking down at my feet watching the water immediately go down the drain. I cannot believe how well this thing worked!!!!!!!!! It has been about a month since I used this thing and every time I shower, I am still impressed by how well this thing worked! As another reviewer stated, I also threw this away at the end of cleaning these two drains. I considered trying to save it to reuse, but it wasn't worth the cleanup or figuring out where/how to store it. I was thrilled to pay the price for this item, even as a one time use tool. I'll be happy to purchase another one, if I ever need it. In fact, if you have friends who are moving in together for the first time or know a girl with long thick hair or know someone moving into their first house/apartment/dorm, I think this thing should go in a gift basket along with other random items you can give the people you love that improves human household knowledge to help people solve the problems that everyone eventually experiences. Like onion glasses and a DIVA cup. I am so glad that I know this thing exists. I highly, highly recommend this item.

I bought one of these because the tesimonial reviews and I thought, with 6 kids I know we have slow drains. So I break it out on a Saturday night and started with my bathroom sink. OH MY GOSH! Disgustingly amazing. In 2 seconds I pulled out a massive hair/soap clog. It was truly amazing and so gross! I went to work on the other bathroom drains and they weren't nearly as amazing or as quick but I pulled a bunch of dried hair out of the kids' tub. So after 5 drains, I had my fun. I've spent a small fortune on "drano" type products that never seem to work. I won't buy them again. I was even so amazed I shared the nasty pic on Facebook and didn't think twice about somebody judging me. Get this. Be prepared to throw it away as you're not going to want to clean it.
